How to unlock the First Contact achievement in Fallout 76 - Definitive Guide

Story related and can't be missed.
Upon exiting vault 76 you will get a waypoint to the overseers C.A.M.P. In her camp, the quest First Contact will begin. Follow the road south from the camp to the town of Flatwood and continue yor search for the overseer there. As soon as you finish the related tasks in Flatwood the achievement will unlock.
If you played the B.E.T.A and completed the mission, you might be required to create a new character and replay the mission for the achievement to unlock until Bethesda implement a way to get achievements retroactively.
While in the overseers camp, be sure to craft some armor and a weapon to unlock the related achievement A Fighting Chance (craft a weapon). The crafting supplies you recieved in Vault 76 will be sufficient to craft a weapon and some armor.

Has this changed with the Wastelanders update?

I just wanted to point out I think this is temporarily broken. I can’t get the mission to pop up on a new character no matter how many I make. Plus no one has popped this since the last update went live 2 days ago.
EDIT: Apparently others are getting it, I’ll have to try again.
EDIT 2: They changed it, that was my problem. You have to do the Wayward Souls mission, then you will receive the First Contact mission.

Quest Line: Responders, Prerequisite Lead
After leaving the Vault, you'll get some information about the Overseer, who left before you and is exploring Appalachia. The C.A.M.P. base near the Wayward actually is registered as hers with a log, saying that she is going to Flatwood afterward. Follow her trail and it will lead you to the Flatwood settlement, where there is also the encampment of the Responders and a few traces left of what was once here. After acquiring her next holotape, your goal is to join the Responders, in the hopes of following behind her and catching up.
This questline will be the first of five main factions you'll come to interact with across the Appalachian wilderness. Follow this through to Missing Link, which will unlock two trophies and lead you to the next faction, the Raiders.

This quest has changed with the Wastelanders update. Once you leave the Vault, talk to the Mr. Handy (Pennington) by the "Vault-Tec Celebrates 300 Years Of America" arch, and he will ask you to make sure the two women standing a short distance away aren't up to anything. Talk to them to learn about a new tavern called the Wayward, and a marker will be added to your map with the quest "Wayward Souls". Head to the Wayward and go inside, where you can watch what happens next or attempt to intervene. Once you're able to talk to Duchess, ask her about the Overseer at some point in your conversation (I did this last after picking up her quest chain), and you'll start "First Contact". From there it's just a matter of following the instructions to finish the quest.

First Contact will begin immediately once you exit Vault 76. You'll need to find the Overseer's Camp and then head to Flatwoods.
