How to unlock the Scorched Earth achievement in Fallout 76 - Definitive Guide

In order to get this achievement you have to take down the Scorched Queen who is level 95. She will spawn on the fissure prime location when nuked. The event will activate and you will have 30 mins to kill her. She spawns other high level scorched adds of varying types. This event will take the cooperation of roughly 10+ players at level 50+. Power armor is a must and weapons that deal bonus explosive damage, have the two shot legendary, or have Zealot mod (deal extra damage to scorched) are recommended. Zealot armor can be helpful but isnt as neccessary. Heavy weapons such as the .50 caliber machine gun, the Fatman, and Minigun are very helpful as they allow quick damage while she is landed. If a player in your group lays down their C.A.M.P. you can build turrets to help you during the fight. Most turrets aren't going to be very helpful however missile turrets seem to do well but you must keep them powered and repaired. Grenades and orbital strikes can be used when she lands along with stronger melee weapons such as the super sledge. In my completion with at least 11 players this took about 27 minutes. Most players said they went through all of their ammo with one player saying about 5000 .50 caliber rounds, so you will want to make sure you have plenty of ammo. I'd recommend having a player with super duper and chemist craft as many stimpaks as possible and then craft them down into Diluted Stimpaks. Keep a few normal stimpaks to revive other players though.

NOTE: at the time of writing this the achievement is bugged and does NOT unlock.

Adorned with a diamond, so someone has it. I assume this one is in a similar condition as Breach and Clear, since few have earned that one?

also a good advantage is having a low level player spawn here because her HP scales to the level of the person that summons her

Xbox LFG is the way to go. The guys were super nice. But they did require level 100. I was at 109 with melee build.

Also did it per the xbox official club page of fallout 76. should be honestly in that solution, because almost everyone here did it like that :)

What an epic fight. I joined the battle with over 100 stimpacks. I used up 50 or so missiles with my bunker buster. I used up all my 50 cal ammo with my Junkies 50 Cal. gun. I broke my Black Diamond ski sword and a furious machete. We had the queen whittled down to about 30 percent and I was using random weapons I found on scorched. My power armor was just a shell of itself.
Then the game froze.

I'm getting tired of defending this game to myself.

The club page on the xbox is by far the best way to go! I'm level 60 and I just joined games off of players who just wrote Queen on the page. I farmed four scorched queens last night, the first netting me this achievement. You want to join the server quickly though because the "world" fills up fast!

I saw the event appear on my map and joined at a lowly level 46. I fired at it but spent most of my time running around slashing things with an axe in the hope of keeping the others alive. Didn't get the chance to loot it which is fair as I didn't do much to harm it. Fun fight though.

I've tried using the club page on xbox and all I can find are people wanting to trade, and there's no way for me to enter a search for 'Queen'... other than to search for someone's gamertag

After player has amasses some levels, and map location in right bottom corner is nuked and there is multiple players, should one immediately equip power armor and head there, land shots Queen and help others as much as possible. There is high possibility that event get completed and cheevo unlocked.

This seems to be more difficult to get together now that the game's been out for a while

Agreed with Seitzz. Now that I'm at a level where I might be able to take part in this fight without being a drag on the team (lvl80), nobody is launching nukes all that often anymore.

I just got this yesterday. IMO, your best bet is either to make a session on TA about a week in advance or just use LFG on the Xbox Fallout 76 tab to find players. Usually someone has something listed like "queen" "SBQ" "Scorched Earth". Just look for those and join that player, a lot of the times the nuke's already off and you can just join in the damage fest. This is much easier and quicker.

Does it have to be Prime?

Yes it is the specific one in the bottom right corner, not to be confused with another fissure site close by. The one you want to nuke is 'Fissure Site Prime'

Ugh LFG is no definite guarantee, 2 events already timed out. Might have to keep checking and get lucky with good players.

Got lucky at level 14 and ran into random level 200+ players who did it for me in about 12 minutes. Got me a level too as they killed random scorched enemies.

I did this achievement last night at level 25. It took nearly the entire time limit and I joined a party who was already there. I don't think I contributed much at all but it was a lot of fun and there is no penalty other than losing junk for dying and it's a ton of exp.

I was about to leave the game, I saw lot of people near the nuclear bomb area and I joined out curiosity with the hope to get the one to be in the nuke zone. Instead I got this. They killed it right after I joined. I am level 33. Thanks to everyone who was on the server. toast

Just go to a new blast zone and leech a kill. There were 3 nukes back to back last night when I was playing and I decided I'd go to a blast zone for the first time ever since I had a hawmat suit. Saw the queen and a bunch of level 800+ players easily took out the queen while I took a few shots at it barely doing damage with my basic level 50 hunting rifle at level 56. Still got credited for the kill, just like I later got credited for the 2 others that would spawn with the nukes. Nukes still seem to be common enough during the weekends.

Got lucky too. Was hoping to get the nuke achievement at Level 16. Saw this boss and decided take a few shots at her. Team around me was super strong and took her down quickly and I got the achievement...

Just to confirm it is unlocking properly after the update, as for tips on beating it the LFG tool in the official club page is your best friend, people are always posting in there to group up for it and all you have to do is join their game to queue up for the world. Make sure you have power armor, fusion cores, radaway and ammo ready to go though.

Can also confirm the achievement is unlocking. I lucked out looking at the LFG page for the xbox official club page. Someone said they needed help so I showed up and then about a dozen more people. I dropped my camp armed with 4 rocket turrets into the battle and fired off over half a dozen mini nukes and over 1000 rounds of .50 caliber ammo. It was a glorious battle :D though now... there's nothing left to do in the game.

WOW! I guess I'm one of the lucky ones too. After restarting my game, and making it to Level 10 by just walking around (I was going for the 100 locations achievement), I saw the notice for the Event appear and walked towards the detonation area to hopefully get that nuked achievement... instead I wandered and fell into some rut in the ground, I saw the scorched beast flying around up top and fired at it with a pistol that does barely any damage to low level moles and ghouls (lower than LvL10 mind you). I think I hit it once, maybe twice as I was running for my life. I finally found my way out of the ruts and made it to safer grounds and all of a sudden the achievement popped.

The other solution to this has great info- but I just got this achievement last night and I wanted to give a few more random insights for first timers. However, full disclosure our queen glitched- she landed on the ground after a couple minutes and then never took flight again. There were a bunch of us and we took her down in probably 12-13 minutes.

At this point, the main issue is getting enough people to help with the queen. Or at least that’s what I thought would be the issue because that’s what everyone is saying. I have been server hopping a bit for exp, and each time I check the silos on the map to see if it looks like other players are prepping to lunch a nuke. Last night I messaged a couple guys at a silo to check if they were going to launch at the fissure prime site, and sure enough they were. I ported to that silo and helped them finish it. This is a good idea to help with because they can be a pain! As soon as prep finished in the last room I quickly messaging every player on the map (click on their white dot and send message) who was over lvl 40 “queen help” and over 10 players showed up! TBH this game has so little going for it I think high lvl players are bored and if you spawn a queen you are giving them something to do. And low level players make for more targets to distract the queen.

Other notes:
-2-3 other regular scorchbeasts appeared for us. I was told this is normal.
-Bring multiple weapons. You will be dispensing so much damage your weapons will break during the fight. I was down to my 3rd melee weapon before the end. I used blade of Bassett, black diamond and the Gracknock axe
-the queen is a “legendary” creature, meaning her health will regenerate after it goes down 50%. So expect to need to take her full health down 1.5x.
-the achievement DID pop for everyone who still didn’t have it. Although it popped for me a little later than I would have expected.
-the game did not freeze for anyone. I think the servers are a bit more stable now.
-I was a lvl 83 with a 1 handed melee build. But there’s no way of knowing how much damage individual players did.

Type: Misc Event (repeatable)
Recommended Character level: 50+

The Scorched Earth event is going to the hardest event you encounter in Fallout 76. There are many ways to go about this but I'll offer two options. The first is to activate the quest on your own and hope that you either have a team that you play regularly with or that randoms come to help. The other is to simply wait til someone else has triggered the event and jump in, hoping they brought enough man power to finish it.

This quest will bring about the largest boss in the game as well as have you deal with many smaller bosses and enemies. It is not going to be possible to do solo.

See spoiler for details on starting event on your own:

You'll need to launch a Nuke into the Cranberry Bog, specifically at Fissure Site Prime. See I am Become Death for how to launch a Nuke.

Once you've done this head to the area highly prepared because this Nuke will awaken the Scorch Beast Queen and this is who you need to kill within the time limit. This is impossible solo. You will need a team of others who are also level 50+ or hope that enough randoms come along and help you out.

See spoiler for details on how to jump into someone else's event:

Another option is to wait until you see that someone else has nuked Fissure Site Prime and head there. There's a high probability that a team is already there taking this on and you can simply jump into the action. This is how I earned my trophy and I was only level 23. I headed into the chaos and just got a few shots into the queen and did my best to stay alive. Once the team killed her the trophy popped. Just make sure if you die that you head directly back there so they don't kill her while you aren't in the location.

Scorched Earth is an event triggered in the game by someone launching a nuke at Fissure Site Prime. This will spawn a Scorchbeast Queen which must be killed to complete the event. So long as you are in the area and land a few shots on the enemy, you should get the achievement even if you didn't do much in the way of helping. I personally did this at Level 8 and hid in a bunker nearby and still got it. You should be at a high level (the enemy is Level 95) and expect to go through a TON of ammo and healing items if you participate in the fight properly. You should also have good power armor or a radiation suit to survive the radiation and a few high-level weapons since you will likely run out of ammo for a few and/or have your weapons break during the fight.

Your best bet to get this is to join the event after someone else launches a nuke, but if you want to launch it yourself, see I Am Become Death (50G) for more info on that process.

The quest starts after dropping a nuclear bomb in the Rift Prime area in the lower right corner of the map. It will be necessary to destroy the Scorchbeast Queen, which has an unrealistic amount of HP. Plus, it adds the usual scorch beasts, swampers and other high-level creatures, as well as a high level of radiation after a bomb explosion
It is recommended to go in a group of at least 7-8 people, at least that's how I completed the quest

I knocked out this trophy at level 30 in the following way - when, after a nuclear explosion, it started
this event, moved to his zone and while high-level players were destroying the burn beasts, he rushed around, because one or two hits = SMEEERT The method is a little ratty (the boys die, and you rush around the edge), but it won’t work any other way at small levels!
