The Auto Axe is tied to your account and cannot be dropped or traded with players. You can grind out 500 stamps to obtain the Auto Axe. Those with the Auto Axe can help those who do not have the achievement out to reduce the grind even more.

For those who are a Masochist and want the Auto Axe, you will need to farm up 500 stamps and buy from Guseppe's trades in the Whitespring Refuge.

For those who have a friend or helping someone get this achievement. The person who has the Auto Axe will deal the final blow. I prefer Ashes to Fire to keep track of the Trogs and their spawn. Union Dues work too but be careful to not kill the boss Trog.

Original Solution Below

For those who do not know what an Expedition is or forgot: Over at the Whitespring Resort(Center of the map) is the Whitespring Refuge which will be your main hub for The Pitt title update. You can also enter the Refuge quickly by pressing > > Travel to Whitespring Refuge.

Stamps

You get stamps after completing any of the Two Pitt Expeditions: Union Dues / From Ashes to Fire. I recommend Union Dues as the layout is simple and the objectives are not complex. Doing the main objectives and leaving will net you some stamps but doing the sub-objectives help out since you're going to be in the areas of interest.

There are sub objectives that are given by NPCs in the safe areas that will increase your Stamp reward output to the Max of 10 for the Host & 8 for the Team members

In Union Dues: You must get 5 Steel Ingots, Retrieve a hidden orange loot case and ensure no one dies when the Trogs attack the base.

In Ashes to Fire: You must get 5 Collars, talk to a Raider Skeptic, and save all three survivors after exiting the Sanctum. (You must interact with the helpless survivors for them to be saved and onto the next ones.)

Doing Union Dues awards 10 Stamps and 5 Legendaries
Doing From Ashes to Fire Awards 11 Stamps and 6 Legendaries.

Reaching 10/11 Stamps is possible only by completing the main and sub-objectives. Players who assists will receive 8(9 in Ashes to Fire if you are helping host)

Season 10 Solution

The Auto Axe is a Season 10 reward at level 15. You can do Daily & Weekly missions to level up your scoreboard or you can spend 2,100 Atoms to purchase your way to the Auto Axe crafting. Each level in the scoreboard costs 150 atom so doing your dailies and weeklies should help reduce the cost and time to earn the Auto Axe.

You can craft the Auto Axe at any Weapon Workbench. Under Edged Melee Weapons you will be able to craft the Auto Axe at level 20 up to level 50. The higher the level, the higher the damage, durability, and required scrap to craft.

After crafting your Auto Axe, you can add Random Legendary Mods if you have any Legendary Cores & Legendary Modules.

The Trogs spawn in The Pitt Expeditions in either Union Dues or From Ashes to Fire. We are going to do the mission From Ashes to Fire as it is easier to farm the trogs in less than an hour. There is also no tracking so you'll have to mentally take note and or just kill until you're awarded the achievement. If you do some damage and a teammate kills them, you should get credit though I'm sure a few won't track correctly. Just be sure to hit them for majority of the time.

There's multiple entrances to Sanctum/Cathedral. You'll want to enter through the orange pipe entrance(farthest from meeting with Danilo, not the entrance behind them)When you get the opportunity to enter Sanctum, you'll want to take a left when you enter the open area and kill the Trog hunched over. Jumping down will spawn a few more trogs and turrets will be shooting at you. past the turrets, you'll see an open hole on the wall, kill the trog. Head left and right in the opening and you'll see a trog and some more spawn. Head past into the room to the right and you'll see another hole and trog coming out. Head left and you'll see a room with a few more trogs all while more trogs will spawn around you. After clearing the room you'll want to head into the room that has a jail cell. Looking at the cell take a right and up the stairs, look to your left and kill off the remaining trogs.

After you have killed all the trogs you can fast travel back to Appalachia and re-enter The Pitt with no consequences. As you spawn in you will head up the stairs and head past the gate along the bus. Go past the street lamp until you see the road sink. Head through the open wall, towards the gap in between the stone rock wall, turn right, then left. Turn right and you'll be guided towards Sanctum.

While running into the expedition lobbies of other people and using the Auto axe on "their troggs" will eventually get you this achievement, I have found a method that worked very well for me.

If you save your daily ultracell charge that you earn on the same day that you unlock the Auto Axe, then you are able to knock this out on your next hosted run (same day).

Essentially if you start up an expedition in solo (no group created) after you have an Auto axe in your inventory, then this can be easily farmed without fear of other players messing it up for you.

I actually recommend Union Blues, complete the expedition in solo most of the way through doing as many or little optional objectives as you want, ONCE you return to the base camp (your second visit to the camp) "PENN mend or something I believe it's called" after dealing with the "factory/foundry" stage, a defence objective will start, and you will have an opportunity to kill a whole pile of trogs
- this defence objective has an obvious ultimate target that completes the objective when it's killed,
DO NOT KILL this target
- instead kill all the small trogs and once they are dead, run from the target and use the expedition sub menu on the map to return to the White spring refuge.

From here you can return to that exact objective by continuing the expedition (handy as it's close to the spawning location).

You then kill the same exact number of trogs again
- again, avoiding killing the ultimate marked target
- return to the Refuge and then continue to rinse and repeat until the achievement pops.

New Update - 20/6/2023

The changes detailed below have gone into place as of today - any material online stating that you need to charge ultracell batteries or pay 1000 stamps for the auto axe are now out of date.

Important Update - 23/4/2023

Laser_3 on reddit has confirmed that the Fallout 76 public test server (server which previews upcoming Fallout 76 changes), includes some important features that make grabbing the auto axe cheaper and faster:

• The Auto Axe plan will cost 500 stamps, as opposed to 1000 stamps.
• The ultracell battery charge mechanic will be removed - the refuge dailies will instead reward treasury notes, and you can run expeditions an unlimited amount of times per day. AFAIK, the weekly expedition reward will still be in place.

With any luck, these changes will be rolled out with the upcoming season change (June 13thEdit: Looks like the date has been updated to June 20th).

Unless you have already obtained almost every Giuseppe plan by now, it will almost definitely be faster to save up as many stamps as possible to buy the auto axe immediately upon the season change, instead of buying cheaper plans to hope it increases your chances during the weekly expedition reward.

Do the mission from ashes to fire there are a lot of trogs, and you get the auto axe from the scoreboard as a reward at rank 15.

When the auto axe is unlocked it's under edge weapons at the work bench.
