How to unlock the Wayward Child achievement in Fallout 76 - Definitive Guide

A very straightforward series of fetch quests.

It begins by entering the Wayward and learning about a treasure hunter.

Next you’re tasked to build a sign at your Camp.

After learning about the gang of Raiders searching for Crane, you inform Duchess who sends you to two locations where you get different options to deal with the Raiders.

Once dealt with, Duchess sends you to rescue her people from the nearby Gault Mine.

After a short visit to a robot shop and a conversation with Duchess, you get a key to the treasure Crane found.

Pick your weapon of choice, report to Duchess and the Achievement is all yours.

I dealt with the Raiders nonviolently and convinced them to leave Duchess alone, so the quest line ended there for me.

Overall, less than an hour of work, just another side quest.

This achievement appears to be bugged.

I've completed the quest with two different characters and it didn't unlock

Some might get confused by this solution so you should name the quests tied and follow up to this:

1. Wayward Souls
2. Hunter for Hire
3. Strength in Numbers
4. The Elusive Crane

Strength in Numbers. Door bugged. It will not open. No Key Card.
Works fine on PS5.

This quest chain starts right outside Vault 76 as an introduction to the new NPC system. Complete the quests Wayward Souls, Hunter for Hire, Strength in Numbers, and The Elusive Crane to unlock this achievement.

Story related, can't be missed.

Begin the Main quest Wayward Souls. You will have this in your list as soon as you leave Vault 76. Fast travel back to the vault and walk down the stairs to the east to meet the NPCs. The arc contains 4 quests. Upon finishing the last you will earn the trophy. The story choices you make during the quests do not affect the trophy award.
