How to unlock the Crafty achievement in Fallout: New Vegas - Definitive Guide

Breakdown and then assemble any type of ammo at a Reloading Bench. Do it 20 times for an easy achievement.

I did it right at the start with the bench outside the Store in Goodsprings. Broke down some shotgun shells then reassembled them. Did this for a total of 100 shots to finish that challenge as well.

Quick achievement, I didn't know this would count. Good guide, thumbs up :) .

How i did mine wasvery similar.

I first created the 'healing powder' that you can learn to make in the tutorial quests with Sunnie in Goodsprings.
(1/20)

For the rest i just broke down some unwanted ammo at a reloading table, i chose the one that i had 19+ of in my inventory and broke them down.
(20/20)

I got the achievement straight after breaking down the 19 ammo. i didn't need to assemble them into anything before the achievement unlocked.

Hes saying reassemble the ammo so you dont just have a bunch of ammo parts and you can repeat with the same bullet...

I didn't have to do this one-by-one. I went to the bench and selected the 9mm bullets to break down. I had 50 of them. It asked me how many to break down, so I selected them all. I then selected the 9mm bullets to reconstruct. It, again, asked me how many to build. I selected as many as possible (I think it was 44 - you do lose a few when you break them down the first time). The achievement popped instantly and that was my first time at the bench.

I found the easiest was to do it was to get some Electron Charge Packs and converting them to Microfusion Cells one by one.
You will need a science skill of 50, or if you have a science skill of 40 you can just use a skill magazine to boost your skill temporarily.

through the game, when you loot bodies and pickpocket, you'll find cases for ammo. they wont have any resale value at shops. hold on to these. when you find a workbench, convert them (you'll probably need a science of 25, if you havent level your science up yet then just use a book). if you have 20 cases, you'll make 20 conversions, and get the achievement.

You craft items by using any workbench or campfire in the wasteland. To name a few, there is a workbench next to the tavern in Goodsprings, a campfire near the wells in Goodsprings, and a workbench in the Presidential Suite of Lucky 38 (the workbench must be bought). The easiest way to get this achievement is to either recycle or convert ammo.

Use a campfire, a workbench or reloading bench to create 20 items. Note that creating or breaking down ammunition counts each round individually as a crafted item, meaning that you can get this trophy quite easily at the first reloading bench you find.

if I'm not mistaken - you can collect 20 rounds (as an option - take it apart and put it back together) - they will give you a trophy
