How to unlock the ED-Ecated achievement in Fallout: New Vegas - Definitive Guide

There are five of these that you need to find. Possible spoilers ahead. These upgrades are loot in destroyed Eyebots.

The first one is after you have ED-E open the door to the reactor. It should be on the ground in the upcoming hallway.

The second one is inside Hopeville Missile Base HQ. When first entering the building go to your left and enter the first door you see. It will be under the desk.

The third is in the Ashton Silo Control Station. Ride down the lift and enter the door, in the new area you just entered go to your right and you will be in a room with a huge crater in the center. Open the locked door next to the terminal and the eyebot will be on the ground.

The fourth is inside the Municipal Sewers. After exiting Sunstone Tower make your way to the ground floor. Once on the ground head southwest following your compass. You should see a warhead blocking the path. After making it explode you will see a torn down building which is the Third Street Municipal Building. You will also see an entrance to the sewers, keep following the path until you enter a room with Tunnelers. You will see the eyebot on the ground.

Alternatively fast travel to the Cave of Abaddon exit the building back outside and keep traveling between South and South West on your compass until you reach the building. If you haven't discovered the Third Street Municipal Building you're in the wrong building.

For the fifth one exit the sewers from the way you entered. Face north from the Municipal building you should see two warheads: one blocking the Cave of the Abaddon and the other to your right. When you blow up the warhead on to your right you should see an open pipe and to your left you will see the last eyebot.

If you already destroyed the warhead and missed the ED-E upgrade fast travel once again to the Cave of Abaddon and turn back outside. You should see a fallen sign with red letters to your left. Climb up the debris to find it. If you crossed two electric posts you've gone too far (again these posts are to your left).

Hope this helps! If you need anymore clarification on any of the upgrade locations comment and I'll try my best to fix my descriptions.

The fifth one is in the destroyed building on the left after destroying the required warhead after exiting the Sunstone Tower rooftop. Look to the left after detonating warhead number 3 in the "Before the Cave of the Abaddon" section of Fire Hawk D warhead guide. go up a concrete ramp to find the collapsed building.

That was the only one that gave me any problems! Great Guide!

You shouldn't use warheads as a point of reference. If I already destroyed them then I have no clue what you are talking about.

Thanks for the input. If I ever get around to playing Lonesome Road again I'll try to find other landmarks to help find these when warheads are destroyed.

It should be pointed out that the upgrade at Ashton Silo requires a Science Skill of at least 75 to hack the door open. There doesn't seem to be a key.

Want to add the video that helped me. All credit goes to Roosterteeth, not my video. You can still get these parts even after the DLC is completed and you don't have ED-E. Cheers!

Thank GOD! I've been looking for an answer to the question of if I've already used ED-E to disable the launch, can I get the upgrades still. Can you tell me if the upgrades get transferred to Mojave ED-E, or no because LR ED-E can't transmit them because it's dead?

Mojave ED-E will retain all the upgrade you have acquired with LR ED-E, even after you have completed the DLC.

ED-E's upgrades are very useful for completing this DLC, and are generally not too far off the beaten path when it comes to completing Lonesome Road. Just remember, these upgrades are on broken eyebots so you find the eyebot you find the upgrade! Let's find them:

  • First is early on in the game at the Hopeville silo bunker. Right after you unlock the silo doors this eyebot is lying on the floor. You have to walk by this bot in order to move on so it is very hard to miss.
  • The second upgrade is slightly off the beaten path in the Hopeville Missile Base HQ. Upon entering, make a sharp left and go down the hallway to a room. This bot will be under a desk.
  • On your way to Ulysses you need to go through the Ashton Silo Control Station. Inside the silo on level 1 you will encounter a hard terminal and a locked door that requires a key. Hack the terminal, go inside, and presto--upgrade #3.
  • On your way to the caves you will probably encounter the location Third Street Municipal Buildingoffices. Go up them and to the top like you were trying to leave. On the North-West side you will see a big sewer pipe that you will be able to go into. These are the Municipal Sewers. Fight the tunnelers and claim your prize.
  • The final eyebot is just before the Cave of the Abaddon. If you go north from the entrance you will see a warhead that needs to be blown up. After doing so the upgrade will be on the ground slightly north of the pipe's top opening.

*Missable*
Here you want to collect upgrades for ED-E that upgrade his functions and your perk as well.

Those upgrades are found inside destroyed robots (similar to ED-E); you have to examine them and get the upgrade part from them. They are all found inside Buildings/Sewers and not in the open, with the exception of one.

Their locations are:

  1. Almost impossible to miss, it's inside the same building where you recruit ED-E.
  2. At missile base HQ, under a desk in a room to the left.
  3. At Ashlo Silo Station in a room at the first floor, behind a locked door (you need a 80 science skill to hack its terminal).
  4. At the sewers found at Divide (after you blow the warhead blocking your way, turn left and start climbing the building and enter the sewers).
  5. Near Abbadon's cave there will be a warhead in a broken building, destroy it and climb while heading left, you will find him in the ground (basically the only upgrade that could be found out in the open)

All these upgrades can be found before going to Abbadon's cave, so be sure to pick'em up before doing so. Keep in mind that some upgrades won't be accessible after finishing the story.
