How to unlock the Globe Trotter achievement in Fallout: New Vegas - Definitive Guide

the locations for the snowglobes is as follows

1) Goodsprings Cemetery
There's a snow globe sitting on one of the graves in the cemetery which overlooks your starting town. You can find this in the first 5 minutes of playing.

2) Old Mormon Fort
When you enter the fort, turn right and walk straight. You should find a doorway to a tower. Enter the door and walk upstairs. You'll find the snow globe sitting on a shelf.

3) The Strip (Vault 21)
There's a locked room in Vault 21 (accessible through the Vault 21 gift shop). The snow globe can be found inside

4) Test Site (Lucky 38)
Found in the Lucky 38 cocktail lounge, sitting on the counter of the bar.

5) Mount Charleston (Jacobstown)
As you walk into the Jacobstown lodge, it's located on the reception desk in front of you. Jacobstown is a hike, accessible by the winding road in the north-west portion of the map.

6) Hoover Dam
Found in the Hoover Dam offices, which is one of the buildings accessible from the top of the dam. Walk inside and it's sitting on the large reception desk.

7) Nellis Air Force Base
Located in the Nellis museum, sitting on one of the shelves. Getting to Nellis, however, will require some fast footwork.

you can sell each of the snowglobes to Jane, Mr. House's personal assistant robot for 2000 caps each.

The Snow Globe in the Lucky 38 can be a bit hard to find.
It is behind a cash register. When you exit the elevator, turn left en check the cash registers to the left of you to find it.

I dont get why there are so many negative votes, this is pretty accurate. I found 3/7 without a guide and now I can get the rest!

Doominatorx6, I think a lot of people have issue with guides from people who aren't listed as having the achievement yet.

ForREVer, thanks for the guide. Might want to give credit to its source, assuming you're not Russ Frushtick.

the issue is that the guide is not that detailed. I found a MUCH better detailed guide then this one.

So are there any of these missable? Lol.
Like in fallout 3 there were some bobbleheads you could miss and not get again.

If I get banned from casinos for example would I not be able to obtain them All?

This guide is completely inaccurate! FoREVer, be more descriptive! Just pointing me in the right direction isnt enough!

Ex:
4) Test Site (Lucky 38)
Found in the Lucky 38 cocktail lounge, sitting on the counter of the bar BEHIND THE FIRST CASH REGISTER TO YOUR LEFT.

Grow up. So quick to bash someones guide and be an asshole but yet I see no guides you made here. See where it says.... "think you can do better" I'd like to see you try that first instead of being a total asshat clown!

Upvote for me.... Ta really needs to slice these downvoters fingers and tiny balls off!

word of warning about this; SPOILER re mr house's future

don't kill mr house unless you have all the globes already given to jane, as she is no longer there when he dies. i've had a good look around the building and she's nowhere to be found and therefore i have nobody to give the globes to (just got one on the display cabinet)

I gave you a positive vote, but I do think it would be more helpful if for the Hoover Dam snowglobe you were more specific in that the door is actually labeled Hoover Dam Visitor's Center, not Hoover Dam Offices

Does it unlock as you find the last one at hoover dam or do they have to be turned in and sold or something to Jane?

I walked around Sarahs room forever and didn't see anything. I'm retarded. Good guide, but needs detail. If not I will make a better one once I have the achievement.

Personally i like this guide. Yes it's not very detailed but i don't mind for the simple fact that i like to try finding collectable items in games myself before i resort to guides. BUT. Even when i resort to guides, i prefer to get a rough location of where the collectable can be obtained rather then a precise location so i can search independantly for the item.

I have yet to start Fallout: New Vagas, i was simply on this guide to check to see if any of the snowglabes are missable (like in Fallout 3 with some of the bobbleheads) so i know i can safely progress through the game without fear of missing any.

I agree with SashaQ, it would be a good idea to correct the location of the Hoover Dam snow globe (visitor's center, not offices) so that others don't go on a wild goose chase like i did until I checked a different solution. Otherwise good

By Bryce MC on 29 Dec 2010 17:03
If you are going to take the time to write a solution, do it right. Describe the exact location, any tips for reaching that location (such as Sarah's room in Vault 21 or Nellis), and include any other relevant facts. Granted, some people may enjoy a vague description, so make your current guide the titles of each location in your solution but then include the specific descriptions under each location.

There is a very annoying glitch with Lucky 38 Snowglobe.... If you kill Mr.House, you'll not get access to Cocktail Lounge, but Penthouse and President suite will work... This happen in my case, have to restart game to get that %$"# achievement :((

I dont understand why people have to complain about this guide. I havent gotten all of the globes yet but i just read the guide and i like it. Would it hurt someone to just look around for the globes instead of being given the exact location. I like this guide because it gives the general locations to look in.

I'd agree that more detail could be useful and mentioning what your choices with Mr House can to do disable the achievement but I do feel some people are being way too critical.

Well first Of all if you NOOBS saved your game before every major event you wouldn't have an issue. I had about 180 saves by the time i completed the game.

Honestly Learn to use saves.

The save numbers increment themselves. You could use all 100 slots, but the total number of saves could be much, much higher if you repeatedly save over the same slot.

Also, there appears to be snow globes in the DLC areas. I found one in OWB and another in Honest Hearts. The one in HH is in the Gift Shop (by the register, iirc) that you have to go to, to get some stuff for a quest. I believe the one in OWB was in The Sink, but I could be wrong on that one. They give an immediate 2000 caps without having to be sold to Jane.

This game was very screwed up on release. So much that I stopped playing it. Good news though, it works now! I just got the cheevo. Mr. House was already dead, I havn't any globe stand, and I can access the cocktail lounge of the 38 even with House dead. I merely had all 7 globes in my possesion. Im not sure if selling them as you go matters, but I doubt it. Thumbs up cause you caught so much grief over a broken game.

I don't know how it worked back in the old days, but here in 2019, you don't have to turn the snowglobes in to Jane for the achievement (just for the caps). The DLC ones aren't required for the achievement at all.

Wow, it was even worse than I thought. The door wasn't even locked. It was wide open. No wonder I couldn't find it.

For anyone who needs ACTUAL directions for the Vault 21 snow globe, just open the minimap. Look at the far northeast corner. Ignore the long vertical corridor but to the left of that you'll see a square room. To the upper left of that, you'll see a rectangular room. That's the room you want.

When you go for #3, do NOT forget to save after EVERY DOOR. For some reasons, the game sometimes doesn't load Vault 21 at all on Xbox.

@ZhuleCRO1985 I think the issue you mentioned was fixed or was some other glitch. I had killed Mr. House and was still able to access the Cocktail Lounge. I can't sell the orbs, but it didn't impact my ability to get the achievement one bit. I collected all 7 (including the one in the Cocktail Lounge) after his demise.

Up vote from me, but I completely understand the criticism. I needed a video guide to help fill in this one. I am surprised, there's a lot of anger towards the guide and towards those who want a better version. Curious how this site has gotten. First anyone who voted negatively would get attacked for not explaining what needed to be improved. And now when clear areas for improvement are given, those users are still attacked. Maybe comments and voting should just be eliminated entirely so the community can get along!

Find all original seven snow globes in the game. They do not need to be sold to Jane you just need to get them in your inventory.
Goodspings - At the Goodsprings cemetery by one of the head stones (wooden crosses) about two graves west of where you were dug up.
Hoover Dam - In the Hoover Dam visitor center on the desk in front of you as soon as you walk through the door.
Mormon Fort - On the top of the bookshelf in Julie Farkas' room.
Mt. Charleston - In the Jacobstontown lodge on the disk in front of you as soon as you walk through the door.
Nellis AFB - In the Nellis Boomer Museum, located to the right as soon as you walk through the door on the table.
Test Site - At the Lucky 38's cocktail lounge level behind one of the cash registers.
The Strip - In Vault 21, on Sarah's nightstand. Ask for a tour and she will point out which one is her room.

If you have any other problems this video should help.

This achievement is unlocked by finding a total of seven snow globes around the world, and they are relatively easy to get provided you know where to look. Their locations are as follows:

  • Goodsprings: Located in Goodsprings cemetery at the back left corner of the area at the base of a grave marker.
  • Hoover Dam: Located in the Hoover Dam Visitor Center, on top of the welcome desk.
  • Old Mormon Fort: Located in the tower directly to the right as you enter, on a shelf on the second floor.
  • Jacobstown: Located on the reception desk directly inside the lodge.
  • Nellis AFB: Located in the boomer museum, on a table directly to the right of the door.
  • Lucky 38: Located in the Cocktail Lounge (this isn't the casino floor) on the counter behind the cash register with a green lamp next to it.
  • Vault 21: Located in Sarah's room; the door is locked, requires 50 Lockpicking or her key.
