Stim-ply Amazing

Heal 10,000 points of damage with Stimpaks.

How to unlock the Stim-ply Amazing achievement in Fallout: New Vegas - Definitive Guide

Best method to get this, save up stim-packs, then go under water. Hot key your stim-packs (super stim-packs counts towards this too) and take stim-packs as needs while you're drowning. Should only take a minutes or two to get this achievement.

Alas, they should have set this to 5000 HP so it would be resonable in normal play. Hard & Hardcore, 46 hours as evil Courier, I ended up with 5000 from stims and 5700 from foods, while aiming for foods ach.

If you want, you can use that glitch. But in time, you'd find enough stim packs to do it without glitching as well.

A good place to buy Stimpacks for this achievement is the New Vegas Medical Clinic, every 3 days she seemed to replenish to about 20 or so stimpacks, and 5 or so super stimpacks.

i apologize in advance if this is a noob question, but it wasn't answered in any of the other solutions or comments. does anyone know if these cheeves... (10k with stimpaks, 10k with food, 10k damage with weapon types.... etc.) are they cumulative across all play-thrus or must you get the full 10k in a single play-thru?

Single play through. You can check your progress in your pip-boy under stats.

To get a bunch of Stim-pakcs, delete your patches on your xbox memory, put the game in and DO NOT update (you will be able to later) go to Helios One and in the basement convince the one guy to talk about the followers of the Apocalypse and you will have a speech option (i think like 40 not sure) but keep doing it over and over and you will be gifted a few stimpacks and a doctors bag.
Note that doctors bags have 1.00 WG so just store them in a drawer there and come back if you ever want them.

once you have enough like ricky said go under water and hot key them.

I'm using this method for the all damage (heal & deal) achievements. Be sure to gather, save and bring along all copies of the proper skill magazine you have and use just before you start in order to boost the skill in question by 10 points, 20 with the Comprehension perk. The boost is not cumulative so if you have more than one skill book, wait until one has worn off before reading the next. In this case it's the Today's Physician. Today's Physician boosts the Medicine skill which determines how much HP you get from using stimpaks so you should need to gather and use less stimpaks in order to get the 10k needed. See http://fallout.wikia.com/wiki/Today%27s_Physician for locations.

If you have enough stimpaks on you to hit the 10K mark for the achievement, you can get this without constantly damaging and healing yourself. Just take a nice chunk of damage, then save your game. Turn on Hardcore Mode, which makes stims heal over time like food, if you're not playing it already. Now go to your Pip-Boy menu and just use up all your stimpaks. When you get the achievement, reload your saved game and (if you want) turn off Hardcore Mode so you can continue with all those stimpaks.

When you use a stimpak like this, its total healing is immediately added to your total for this achievement, even though you haven't received all of the actual healing yet.

Using the Today's Physician magazine and certain clothes to boost your Medicine skill will make this go faster, or at least improve your chances of reaching 10K with your stimpak supply.

Actually stumbled on this last night, came here to post the solution and saw you had beat me to it. Very good solution, and like you said better then the whole constant damage thing. Works like a charm.

It should also be noted that having Arcade Gannon (found in Fort Mormon) will give you the "Better Healing" Perk which will increase the effectiveness of all healing items by 20%. Very helpful though, sure beats sitting around in the water.

@See u in helll: You have to do the math to figure it out. Multiply the health the stimpaks will heal (according to your Pip-Boy menu, under Items) by how many you have. If it's enough to get you to 10,000, go for it.

great solution
Best to use a grenade rifle(much faster than frag grenades and dynamite) and load up on ammo and blow yourself almost to death and heal up on hardcore mode.

To just add how to get alot of stimpaks easy, go to somebody that sells em. Buy the stock, save and then exit the game and boot it up again. Then the stock will be filled again. And do this until you have the stimpaks you need.

This trophy will come naturally over time as you heal damage accrued in the game. To maximize the effectiveness of a stimpak, ensure that you have a high Medicine skill. Keep track of your progress on the Stats screen of your Pip-Boy. You'll notice that when you use the stimpak, the full healing amount is added to your "Health From Stimpaks" stat. Meaning that if you're intending to grind this trophy out, make sure you're in hardcore mode (so they'll heal over time) and that you've taken more damage than the stimpak provides, then use them all at once. As long as you don't leave the menu, the full amount of all stimpaks will be added to your "Health From Stimpaks" stat.

A much more reasonable achievement than the above Desert Survivalist, this is achieved either over time or in a fashion to the above given method. Visit a doctor to buy your stimpaks and wait when needed. A decent Medicine level and cash pile is suggested, and having Arcade as a companion can help speed this up. You can earn an infinite amount of Stimpaks if you follow the glitch mentioned in the "That Lucky Old Sun" level-glitch. See that achievement for more information.

If by the end of the game we haven’t received a trophy, then we buy stimpaks from the doctors (50 should be enough by the end of the story) and go for a swim, for example, in Crashed B-29 and dive into the water. When the oxygen runs out and HP drops, use stimpaks without surfacing and the trophy is yours.
