Fallout: New Vegas

*UPDATE*
It appears there has been an update that stops the glitch at the bottom of this page from working, but if you need it, it should still work if you clear your cache and play offline. I don't know if this update pertains to the new DLC or if its for everybody, but the glitch doesn't work anymore :(


When I went for this achievement, the other guides didn't work very well for me, so I figured some extra "Luck" stats couldn't hurt. I used a glitch to get my regular "Luck" up to 9 or so, but for other methods of getting your luck high, you can:
a) Buy implants from the New Vegas Strip Medical Clinic
b) Choose a high luck skill from the beginning of the game
c) Wear "Naughty Nightware" which can be purchased from Mick and Ralphs in Freeside
d) (refer to bottom of page for video + explanation of glitch)

Then, I headed on over to the casinos and bought some chips and went to the blackjack tables. It is VERY easy to win here.
- When your cards are around 8-14, "double down", to win more.
- When your cards are around 15-21, "stay".

Continue this betting MAX every time, and you will probably get banned within 10-15 minutes.

I got banned from each casino after profiting the following ammounts:

Gommorah - 9000
The Tops - 10000
Ultra-Luxe - 14500

**REGARDING GLITCH*
***UPDATE***
This glitch has been patched, and will only work if you clear your cache and do it offline.

The glitch in the video is simply a method of getting many levels, very fast. How it affects your Luck stat, is for each level you can put your perk on "Intense Training", and add another +1 to your Luck stat. Getting a few quick levels with the glitch can 1) help you progress through the game quicker, or 2) get you some Luck stats to quickly do this achievement.

In the video, the guy doesn't know where the password is, and it is located in the "Atrium" of Vault 11, which is sort of like a meeting room-style room. The actual item is located on the podium.

*After you've gotten the levels off the glitch, you can easily revert to an older save if you'd like to keep your Fallout experience "legit", or simply continue on with your easy levels.

I have read all solutions above and neither one worked for me because my main character had 1 Luck. So I figured I had to start a new game. I just did the Hardcore achievement in 2 hours thanks to this site so I figured I used that method to gain quick access to the casino's with high Luck. Here is what I did:

1) Start a new game

2) Skip the opening scene

3) Character appearance doesn't matter since this won't be a playthrough

4) In the S.P.E.C.I.A.L menu, make sure you pick Agility 10 and Luck 10, the rest doesn't really matter ( I personally picked Charisma 10 too for a higher Barter skill, this way you can sell the Combat Armor's for more caps, this makes sure you can start at the max bet. )

5) OPTIONAL: You can pick up the stimpacks and doctor's bag in case you run into trouble on the way to The Strip

6) You can pick whatever tag skills you like, I picked barter, speech and medicine.

7) Leave the Doc's house.

8) Travel EAST to Hidden Valley, watch out for Powder Ganger traps on the way, you can outrun them but you can get crippled easily by their mines ( I do not travel trough Sloan cause the sneaking is quite a hassle, this may be a longer route but you run pretty fast )

9) From Hidden valley, take the EASTERN entrance towards Scorpion Gulch

10) Continue travelling EAST and as soon as you hit Helios One, head NORTH towards the Durable Dunn's Sacked Caravan.

11) At Durable Dunn's Sacked Caravan, loot the 2 thugs from their Combat Armor and loot the other body for Leather Armor. Travel NORTH to the Crimson Caravan, sell the Combat Armor for 1500. Then exit through the WESTERN entrance and head SOUTH-WEST.

12) You will come across Gun Runners, sell your second Combat Armor for 1000. You will have roughly 2500 caps.

The next section can be done 2 ways. You can do the regular Credit Check at the Gate which is the original method or you can gain access via the Monorail in Camp McCarran. The Optional Route is described in the Notes section.

13) Enter Freeside through the EASTERN entrance. Go through the blue door next to the Mick and Ralph's crier.

14) Head towards The Strip and pass the credit check.

15) Now enter the casino of your choice, I started at Gomorrah.

16) Play Black-Jack, play with bets at max which is 200. If you have luck 10 this will go very fast, within half an hour I was kicked out of all three casino's.

17) When your cards are: 8-14, double down, 9 out of 10 times you will win
When your cards are: 15-16, hit and stay and win
When your cards are: 17-20, stay ( You can hit at 17 but that is quite risky )

The profit you have to make before you are kicked out of each casino is:

Gomorrah: 9000
Tops: 10000
Ultra-Luxe: 15000

NOTES:

As mentioned by Cra1gm0nkey in the comments, make sure the boss of the casino you are working on, speaks to you and kicks you out of the casino. This is needed for the achievement to pop.

As Segendary Ty pointed out in the comments, you can also gain access to The Strip via the Monorail in Camp McCarran. To get there, go SOUTH SOUTH WEST from Gun Runners past NCR Sharecropper Farms. Once you have entered Camp McCarran, go to the big terminal building. Once inside, go to the EAST side of the building and go up the broken down escalators. To the left, will be a door that leads to the Monorail. Since we haven't done any reputation quests, the guards will turn hostile when you enter. You can go out of your way and try to obtain NCR armor or recuit Boon, the sniper so you can enter without the guards turning hostile. You might survive, you might not. I haven't tested this and this was submitted by the community so if you want to save some caps which doesn't really matter, you can try this. It won't save that much time either.

This method took about an hour/ an hour and a half (Feedback given in the comments proves this ). Hopefully someone reads this and helps him/her. Good luck!

PSS: Sorry for my bad English, it isn't my native language.

By far the easiest way to do this is to crank up your Luck stat. If you start the game with an average Luck rating, use the Intense Training perk a couple times, grab the Luck implant, and wear the Naughty Nightwear, you'll end up with a Luck rating of 9 or 10. When it's this high, you'll seriously nearly never lose at blackjack - no exploits or saving / reloading necessary, just keep playing.

Ok, here's how I did it quickly.


Go to the casino you want to get kicked out of and buy 500 chips. Go to a blackjack table and before you do anything, save your game. Now, start a hand with a 200 chip (max bet), it doesn't matter what you have - hit "Y" to double, if you win the double will cause you to gain 400 chips instead of 200. After every win, leave the table and save, same goes for losing, if you lose - reload your last save so you don't lose anything. Once you win 25 hands or so hands, you should get kicked out. It may seem like it will take a while, but once you get the hang of saving and loading, you're good to go! Took me about 45 minutes using this method, and that was with 6 luck.

I forgot to mention that if you want it to go really quickly then you should clear your cache to remove the update. Thanks to AxREVERENDxA for the reminder!


(it doesn't say I have this because I haven't been scanned in 4 days, I have all but 4 achievements)

As others have mentioned this method has been PATCHED so the best way would be to delete the update, follow the method until you reach a close limit, reinstall the patch and try to win the remaining amount legitimately. I'd suggest sticking with Blackjack to close the gap; it takes longer but a good player will have a mathematical edge in winning.


I got banned from each of the following casinos after obtaining the following amounts in profit....

Gommorah - 14,000
Ultra Luxe - 16,000
The Tops - 12,000

...these are the only ones you need to be banned from. Apparently the amount of profit you need varies but those were the levels I had to reach.

1. Head into each casino and buy 200 worth of chips from the cashier.

2. Head over to a open roulette table and then save the game.

3. Play Roulette and place the maximum 200 bet split between the two green spots. This offers a 17:1 payoff if the ball lands on either 0 or 00. This game seems to have a HIGH probability of landing on those two. More then the real Vegas anyway.

4. After you place the bet watch the ball. If it lands green then take your 3400 in winnings, if not then pause and load the save BEFORE the spin is over. If you wait until the spin is over you'll lose the initial bet and if you try to reload the save the casino will initiate the cheating measure and you'll have to wait 60secs before betting again.

5. Repeat this process until you get booted by the floor manager.

NOTES: You are free to make whatever bets you want. The lower payouts have higher odds obviously but this is Vegas baby, go for broke!

The floor manager will come and bother you with gifts every 2000 or so you earn. Gifts include food and eventually a key to the casinos penthouses. If you want to spread out your winnings to get more gifts then bet smaller odds although I didn't bother.

Took me about an hour to be booted from all three.

Ok here was my way of doing it. It makes it so you run into very few enemies. It makes it so you dont have to clear your cache and should only take about 2 hours total

1. Get as many stimpaks as you can from Doc Mitchell's house, as well as the doctor's bag and some food and water, then leave.

2. Head Southeast out of Goodsprings towards Jean Sky Diving. Go into the building grab the key from the desk. Open the locker and grab everything.Exit the building From there, turn north.

3. You'll come upon a trailer with some powder gangers and dead caravaners around it. Kill the Caravaners. Grab all their stuff as well as the stuff from the dead Caravaners. Head east along the road towards Hidden Valley. Enter Hidden Valley.

4. Go to the eastern fence of Hidden Valley and run along it until you see a gap. Head Southeast to Scorpion Gulch, then East to the backside of Helios One. You can easily outrun or even jump over all the scorpions you will encounter.

5. Go north until you discover the El Dorado Substation.

6. From the El Dorado Substation, go Northeast to the 188 Trading Post.

7. From 188, follow the road north for a long ways until it becomes elevated. There are no enemies here. Then look for a rusty water pipe and keep following that north until you see a wooden bridge. In the center of the bridge is Durable Dunn's Sacked Caravan. Strip the two dead Van Graff thugs of their combat armor.

8. From the caravan, go northwest to discover the New Vegas Medical Clinic and the Crimson Caravan.

9. Enter the Crimson Caravan and sell whatever you want. Just get all the cash from them that they have. Exit out the west gate of the Crimson Caravan and head south to the Gun Runners.

10. Sell some of your other goods to the Gun Runners for all their cash. You will now have the 2000 caps necessary to get into the Strip.

11. Go north to the Freeside East Entrance and enter Freeside. Go through the blue door next to the Mick and Ralph's crier and head south. Pass the credit check and enter the Strip.

12.Once on the strip you need to go to each casino. I found the easiest way was playing blackjack. Just keep playing. If you are 18 or under double down every time. You will lose a hand here and their but for the most part you will be the winner. I persoanlly did the Gommorah, then the tops, then Ultra Luxe.

How I did it:

Start a new savegame, make sure you set your luck to ten.
Finish the Sunny Smiles' quest for 50 caps. Now ignore all quests and make your way to The Strip. You can go either directly (through Sloan) but you will need to sneak a lot. A tip here: If you see a Deathclaw, go stand on a high ledge, shoot it, it will then run away, trying to get to you. You can now safely sneak past. A second way would be to go through Primm, which is safer, but longer. Once you're in Freeside, go to the King's School of Impersonation. Bribe Pacer with 50 caps, speak to the King, get 200 caps to visit Orris. Now go to the Atomic Wrangler, use your 200 caps to buy Chips, and play blackjack untill you have 2500-3000 caps. Now buy your passport to The Strip from the robots there. With your caps, buy 1000 chips in each casino and start playing Black Jack untill you get banned from the casino. Black Jack is the fastest way to get banned. Just bet the max (200 caps) and keep playing.

Just wanted to let everyone know that if u need an extra point of luck besides the naughty nightwear you can also get a pair of lucky shades at the caesar legion safehouse (towards the bottom of the map northwest of the old nuclear test site. You need to get the key from Lucius if u are on good terms with the legion. It's on one of 3 beds, there's also a sniper rifle, chainsaw, and timebomb inside.

The quickest and easiest way is through Roulette.
If you already have a charector and cannot be bothered to restart the game then thats fine this way will work too jus take a little longer. You want to start the game with as high a luck as possible anything to boost your luck is good as it actually boosts your chances of winning in gambling.

Regardless go to the atomic wrangler first of all.
Go to the rouletter table after taking out a couple thousand caps worth of chips and place it all on any 1 number you desire. e.g. red 16. However you must keep betting the max ammount of chips on this number and keep spinning the wheel. Be sure to save the game before hand if you havnt got many caps. Keep spinning the wheel and eventually you will win 7000 caps for 200caps worth of betting. This should get you a converstaion from one of the gambler guys. Keep doing this until they band you. You need to do this in the
Atomic Wrangler
Gommorah
The Tops
Ultra Luxe

these are the 4 casinos and once you get banned from all four not only do you have a nice tasty achievement you also have a large ammount of duckets

Step 1) Get you luck to 8 or higher. To do this if you haven't already either do it at the start or use the perk Intense training until it is 8. Alternatively you can get a Luck implant from the New Vegas medical clinic or wearing the Naughty Nightwear, it can be purchased from Mick over at Mick & Ralph's in Freeside, or stolen through the bars of his special inventory. These both +1 to your luck.

Step 2) Accumulate around about 5,000 caps. Do this by selling stuff, Completing quests or just by picking them up of ghouls.

Step 3) Go to Gommorah and agree to hand over all you weapons so your not tempted to kill people and then go to the bank on the left hand side and trade 5,000 caps for 5,000 chips. once you have your 5,000 chips head over to a blackjack table and start playing and bid max (200 chips). For those who don't know how to play you need to make 21. Ace is equal to 1 OR 11 and all picture cards ( Jack, Queen and King ) are all equal to 10. Here is a tip: Only Double down if your cards equal between 12-15 and if you are felling lucky. Over the time you are playing you will come off the table and a man will give you a reward. He will do this 3 times and then once you have won 9,000 chips you will not be able to play any more but go and trade in your chips for some caps.

Step 4) Do the same as step 3 but at the tops and this time you need to win 10,000 chips.

Step 5) Do the same again but at the Ultra-Luxe and you need to win 15,000 caps.

Once you have been kicked out of all the casino's you will get the achievement and would have banked yourself a nice 30G


Note- at all 3 casino's you will get 3 prizes and then get kicked out. If you want this achievement try not to go on a rampage for XP and go round killing everyone in the strip and casino's.
