How to unlock the Cardiac Arrest! achievement in Fallout: New Vegas - Definitive Guide

Quest: X-13 Attack of the Infiltrator.

Note before attempting this quest you need the upgraded sonic emmiter (thanks nasty grandma) from the X-8 facility which is the quest High School Horrors (see spinal tapped for details).

This is a quest you receive from dr Klein at the start of the dlc. Once you arrive at the X-13 facility you need to pick up 3 pieces of the stealth suit and equip it on your character then head over to the test terminal to begin the test. you need to reach the safe without being seen by the robots, if you are caught then head back to the terminal and start over, any doors you unlocked will reset as well. Stealth boys will increase your chances of getting through but are not necessary, once you reach the safe grab the documents then the achievement will pop. (its not necessary to wear the suit to start the test, thanks UnknownAvatar)

strange haven't heard of anything like that happening, try a different save and see if it unlocks.

Putting the suit on is not required. I did it all with T-51b power armor on.

There is no physical key for the X-13 door. Once you get the sonic emitter upgraded to where it will take down force-fields, the door will unlock after you access the computer terminal to the right of the door.

To make this easier you can kill all the robots beforehand and just walk your way through.

it says i have to find a key for x-8 kennels can anyone help me find it and tell me where it is. this is frying my brain

when you enter the building you should see a barrier, blast it with the frequency gun and it should be in there

Just to be a little more precise, the x-8 kennel key is in the suitcase to the right of the table with the laser pistols on it. which is just behind the force field when you enter the x-13 facilty.

To make this achievement a walk in the park, all you have to do is to simply killed all the robots before commencing the test.

This Idea is courtesy of Lc Moog.

So after you activate the test, head back up the stairs to the room with the two hard lock doors. Use the terminal and unlock the one on the left, and follow the hall to the last door cross a bridge and drop down and go to the safe. No Robots.

It's the door on the right actually, and you lockpick it. The terminal doesn't do anything. Aside from that though, good solution.

This is a story related achievement and quest.

The quest you are looking for here is X-13: Attack of the Infiltrator!, and by completing this quest you will unlock the "Cardiac Arrest!" achievement. Here's a quick run through (Note: a full run-through can be found by clicking on the quest link above:

  • Go to the X-13 testing facility which is located near the perimeter fence to the west of the Big MT dome.
  • Explore the rooms in the corridor by the reception area. You will find 3 parts of the MK ll suit here (boots, gloves, chest piece). 
  • Assemble the suit and follow your objective then accessing the nearby terminal with your suit in your inventory. 
  • Continue following objective points to initialize your suit. 
  • Once the test is complete the stealth suit Mk II will be upgraded (Sneak bonus increased by +10, to 25) and enemy robo-scorpions will appear throughout the X-13 facility under the direction of Mobius making your exit a little more troublesome.

Note: Higher sneaking and high lockpicking do help tremendously in this quest.

This trophy is tied to the completion of the quest, X-13: Attack of the Infiltrator! This quest completely takes place at the X-13 Research facility. Where you will need to recover the three pieces of the X-13 suit to equip your new Mk Armor. These pieces are all in open locations on the initial floor you enter the building as so you’ll have no problems finding them.

Once you have the three pieces, you will need to head to the basement and use the computer console to start up the Basic Infiltration Test. In this test, you will need to sneak or destroy bots to get the administrators office without being noticed. If you are “caught” you will have to restart the test from the beginning of the basement chamber. With the hostile method, you can simply target and kill the bots without them noticing you first. If you are using the sneak method or having trouble getting by unnoticed, you can also make additional saves during the test if you wish to your advantage. When you reach the administrator’s office you’ll recover the X-13 Document from the safe that will upgrade your suit’s firmware to 1.1 to complete this quest. Once the document is recovered, enemy robot scorpions will be spawned in the building so be prepared with weapons and ammo if you decided to sneak your way past the bots. It is possible to use the bots to your advantage if you used the sneak method.

Quite an easy achievement. During the quest “X-13 Attack Of The Infiltrator” you will have to assemble a special three-piece suit and put it in a special “box”. After completing the task, the achievement will be yours.

After completing the quest, it is recommended to complete “Project X-13” to maximize the improvement of stealth armor.
