Collect 20 Legendary Outfits

How to unlock the Fashion Statement achievement in Fallout Shelter - Definitive Guide

This achievement is for collecting 20 different Legendary Outfits. E.g., if you have already collected Eulogy Jones's suit and you later get Eulogy Jones (wearing his namesake suit), the achievement does not credit the second instance of Eulogy Jones's suit. This also means that you cannot craft the same Legendary Outfit repeatedly in the Outfit Workshop to get the achievement.

Several people are noting that they are getting progress from multiple appearances of the same legendary outfit, so this may be incorrect. I was basing this on my personal experience noted above about getting Eulogy Jones's suit and Eulogy Jones through separate lunchbox cards did not show the additional progress on the Xbox app, but I may have been mistaken.

You can get legendary outfits in four ways:

1) Finding legendary loot when exploring or on quests. Some quests will include Legendary Outfits and Legendary Weapons as rewards for the quest. Usually, when a legendary item is included in a quest, it will be shown in the quest screen, but I have also recovered legendary weapons and outfits on the intermittent exploration quests. When a Legendary Outfit is included on a Quest, it is either indicated by showing the actual outfit as a reward (e.g. Jobinson's Jersey) or is shown as a gold outfit icon to indicate that some Legendary Outfit will be rewarded.

2) Crafting outfits in the Outfit Workshop. Once you have enough dwellers, you can upgrade the Outfit Workshop to build Legendary Outfits. You will need to find recipes for the outfits on quests or on exploration quests. Legendary Outfits each require several pieces of legendary junk to build, as well as caps and time.

3) Legendary Dwellers come wearing a Legendary Outfit. All Legendary Dwellers come wearing a Legendary Outfit, but the outfit will only count toward this achievement if you have not previously collected that outfit. Unclear if this part is true.

4) Lunch boxes contain Legendary Outfits as rare cards. The same rules apply to duplicates. Uncertain if this is true.

Great guide, really helpful so far, the only question I have is that if I collect an outfit and later scrap it, does it still count towards the total? Or do I need all 20 on me at once?

The count is in the acquisition of a unique outfit, not in having 20 Legendary outfits at one time. This means you might be able to scrap one Legendary Outfit to get the Legendary Junk to make another in the workshop.

I think finding the Blueprints to the Legendary Outfits may count. I got this when I had 14 outfits, but 20 legendary blueprints wth a level 3 outfit workshop.

I can confirm that finding a suit multiple times DO count. I got today tenpenny suite 3rd time, and as soon as I get it the achievement is unlocked.

Yea multiples have to count, I have 3 Piper outfits and the tracking on the Xbox app has increased each time I received one.

Duplicates do count towards the achievement because I have 2 Minutemen and 3 Heavy Raider Outfits. This made my progress bar increase each time. (However I did not craft these, I found them all.)

Blueprints do not count towards achievement progress. They do however count in your stats in game. For example my stats say I have collected 22 legendary outfits but my achievement is tracked at 15 / 20. Same for weapons.

I am not sure about the crafting legendary outfits - will find out in a few days. But I can say for sure duplicates do NOT count, certainly in Win 10. I have 17 unique and my achievement tracker matches this at 85%

I got two minutemen outfits but only the first counted and both were obtained from quests or lunchboxes. I have crafted a duplicate power armour - did not count.

Am about to craft heavy metal armour which I do not have currently so will see if tracker goes to 90%

I got the legendary weapons to pop after crafting Charon's shotgun. The cheevs are probably glitchy based on the varied experiences documented here.

Crafting definitely counts - I got mine after crafting a mech suit outfit, but (like a lot of the other cheevies for this game) are glitched to hell, I got mine after crafting over 10 Legendary and picking up many in quests and having several Legendary Dwellers...

Took me 45-55 hours of non-paying playing to get this achievement.

I just got this achievement, I had 35 legendary outfits total (according to the stats) with 17 of them being unique ones and the other outfits were doubles.

I can confirm legendary outfits do appear in lunch boxes as rare cards. Bought 40 lunchboxes on sale, got the 5 I needed for the achievement. Also, I also want to confirm that crafting legendary outfits don't count.

Even after writing this solution, I have had mixed results on what causes the Legendary achievements to pop. I got the legendary outfits achievement to pop when I made a legendary outfit at the workshop, but I have crafted several legendary weapons and have not had the legendary weapon one pop.

Legendary outfits are obtained much the same way that Legendary weapons are, from quests, exploration, crafted in the outfit workshop, or received from opening a lunchbox. You can have multiples of the same outfit and when you have received 20 outfits, your achievement will unlock.

Legendary Weapons/Outfits can be obtained when looting containers in quests, as a reward for completing a quest, when opening Lunchboxes or by crafting them on the workshop. Their card/icon/name is yellow so you will recognize them easily. Green are common items and Blue are rare items.

To craft Legendary Weapons, you will need to build the Weapon workshop and upgrade it to level 3. You will need 75 Dwellers in your Vault + 68,800 Caps in order to do that. Then you will need to find legendary plans to unlock them and legendary items to craft them. These can be obtained during quests, as rewards or by sending your Dwellers on the Wasteland.

To craft Legendary Outfits, you need to build the Outfit Workshop and upgrade it to level 3, which will require 102,800 Caps and 95 Dwellers.

Crafting legendary weapons/outfits take a lot of time and resources and you might not find enough of them while playing normally so if you're willing to use the time skip, one of the best solution is to skip 7 days at once and get the daily rewards. The 7th one will always be a Lunchbox and you will get more chances to obtain Legendary Weapons/Outfits this way. Keep skipping and opening Lunchboxes until you get both trophies.

I still understood why everyone’s crafted clothes weren’t counted. Because you need to collect 20 different legendary items, not the same ones. Click -> survival guide and see how many legendary items you have. In general, you need to collect 20 different legendary trunks and 20 different legendary costumes. CREATE DIFFERENT THINGS

I can talk about simplifying this trophy. Wind back the clock closer to the New Year. Around December 25th. New Year's events appear in missions. They are very quick to complete. Sometimes it's just talk, for which they can give you a legendary. Just ask Santa or his helpers for clothes. Sometimes a legendary drops out.

Clothes created with your own hands in the workshop count towards the score. You don't have to puff over lunchboxes.

just like with weapons, they gave a trophy somewhere around the 15th suit in the counter.
so, by completing tasks + opening lunchboxes, you can do without crafting and rewinding (farming lunchboxes), playing honestly.

Also counts costumes dropped on missions. Apparently, I was the last one left when they gave me the armor for the mission and the trophy clinked.

As I understand it, not only costumes count, but also legendary costume drawings. My trophy dropped when one of the residents brought a drawing from a mission.

The trophy can be combined with collecting 100 tasks in the wasteland, since items are taken into account from tasks, crafting, and lunchboxes. You can see how much armor (weapons) you have in the settings menu where the cards of the armor (weapons) themselves can be calculated using the gold cards, they are at the end
For example, you have the number 21 but there is no trophy, look at the cards with armor, and there are 16 different ones, and all the rest were dubs.
It’s better to craft unusual armor and check it with cards; almost all brotherhood armor is found in tasks.
