How to unlock the A Vault For My Vault achievement in Fallout Shelter - Definitive Guide

This achievement is very similar to the Mattress Stuffer achievement.

All you need to do is accumulate 10000 caps in you're time playing whether this means having them all at one time or if it tracks each cap and adds it to the total to reach 10000 is still unclear to me. I am however leaning towards accumulation because of the fact that I did not have 10000 on me at the time of pop.

I do have a guide video featuring one other achievement if it helps clarify in any way:

Definitely cumulative. Can be tracked in the stats menu or by looking at the achievement in the game hub. (Or even on the achievements page leaderboard)

Is cumulative as mentioned above. You do not need to own 10k at once.

I'm stuck on 99% and have no idea what to do.

In game tracker says I've had almost 25k credits.

The xbox leaderboards stat for credits shows me having 9973 exactly, so it seems at some point my game stopped recording the stat :/

Update:

Deleting my gamertag from my xbox, redownloading, then earning another 10k credits fixed the issue for me.

I had trouble with the 1k not popping (had to earn about 3k before it did), but this one seemed to pop on time, and I defintiely didnt have the 10k at once...Im a spender!!

One thing that MIGHT be an issue is whether caps "earned" / collected may be different from caps from lunch boxes...Prom Poker had a similar issue where the in game tracker counted one thing, but the achv tracker counted something else. I had a few 500 cap cards come up early, but the achv for 1k didnt pop until Id gotten to 1k a few times.

I can confirm caps earned through lunchboxes definitely do not count.

Never mind they might count I'm not sure. My progress is stuck at 26% and I've been earning caps many different ways. Redownloading my profile did not help.

Why this game doesn't count my second vault caps? Only my first one

You can only do any of the achievements in this game in one vault.

I opened my vault after not playing for over two months and it unlocked right after collecting some caps from one of my training settlers. I don't know if it's fixed for everyone but it's worth checking to see if it'll unlock for you now.

You can get this achievement by various ways. You can level up dwellers to collect caps, you can find the mysterious stranger, tap cn_A and get a number of caps. You can also complete room rushes by pressing cn_up then cn_A. If it is a success, your dwellers in that room will get a small number of XP, and you will get caps. There are a lot of ways to collect caps, but these are a few.

Bottle caps are the currency in Fallout Shelter. You will get this naturally when going for the 100% since they're used for everything. Caps can be earned by:

- Collecting resources from a production room.
- Rushing a production room successfully.
- Sending a dweller or Mister Handy to explore the wasteland.
- Killing, then looting raiders.
- Selling weapons or outfits.
- Leveling up a dweller (The amount of caps rewarded equates to the dweller's new current level.)
- Levelling up dweller stats at training rooms.
- Completing objectives.
- Receiving them in lunchboxes or in a starter pack, in units of 100, 500 or 3000. Caps from lunchboxes add-up even when 999,999 caps has been reached.
- Finding and selecting the Mysterious Stranger.
- Receive from Bottle & Cappy when they stop and dance.
- Collecting them from the Daily Report.

This achievement just requires you to acquire 10,000 caps. Caps can be acquired a number of ways, from rushing rooms to completing quests and sending dwellers out to explore the wastelands. The Mysterious Stranger is also a good source of caps as he visits the vault fairly often and can be distinguished by his unique sound that plays when he shows up and his light brown overcoat, you just have to find him in your vault. You might also want to complete the quest “Nabbed from Nuka World” as soon as you can, since doing so will unlock a random event where the characters Bottle and Cappy will show up to your vault. These two characters will walk around your vault and when they start dancing and playing music, if you click on them in time, they will give you some bottle caps, and Bottle has a chance of giving you some Nuka Quantum, too.

For this trophy you need to collect 10,000 Caps but you don't need to have them in your possession at one time so feel free to spend them. However, the Caps earned with Objectives, Lunchboxes and Daily Rewards don't seem to count for this trophy. You can have a maximum of 999,999 Caps in your possession but after that, you can't collect them anymore.

There are numerous ways to collect Caps in the game:

  • Collecting resources from a production room.
  • Rushing a production room successfully.
  • Sending a dweller or Mr. Handy to explore the wasteland.
  • Killing, then looting raiders.
  • Selling weapons or outfits.
  • Levelling up a dweller (the amount of caps rewarded equates to the dweller's new current level).
  • Levelling up dwellers stats at a training rooms
  • Finding and selecting the Mysterious Stranger.
  • Receive from Bottle & Cappy when they stop and dance.

The trophy is cumulative i.e. you don’t need to save 10,000 caps to have them in your account.

I had more than 200,000 coins, and everything was bought and upgraded

there weren’t 10,000 caps, but all the buildings that existed9 (and there weren’t many) were improved to the maximum and the achievement popped up

The trophy was buggy, did not fall out after 10,000 caps, did not melt, continued to play further following the tips above about more than 200,000 caps, and then did not fall out. At the moment there are 1.5 million collected caps in the statistics, and 300,000 caps on the account. I don’t know what this bug is connected with, but there is still no trophy!!!

As of summer 2021, the trophy works, BUT only lids from the wasteland and tasks count towards the count (lids from lunchboxes, a stranger and some other actions do not count towards the trophy). Personally, I got both trophies when, while collecting resources, I was given caps by luck.
