How to unlock the Armed and Dangerous achievement in Fallout Shelter - Definitive Guide

Legendary Weapons can be found on high level quests, crafted in a fully upgraded Weapon shops (68,000 additional caps to fully upgrade after building the base shop), acquired in Lunchbox's, and acquired when recruiting Legendary Dwellers.

I'd recommend acquiring caps and legendary junk while going for the 100 quests achievement. Then crafting Legendary weapons, in time you will have a lot of caps.

Training dwellers and maxing out there special stats while they are at a low level, then sending them into the wasteland for 24-48 hours is a great method to get tons of caps and junk. Send them out with 25 stimpaks and 10+ radaway and they will survive for days and reach level 50 in the process.

Does scrapping a legendary weapon (to get the legendary junk) reduce your progress? Essentially do you have to own 20 legendary weapons, or just obtain 20?

No it does not reduce your progress. Scrap away.

Crafting a legendary takes around 7-9 player-days, it's rather slow.

Took me about 56 hours (2 quest teams, and weapon workshop).

Is this broken for anyone else? I have 20 and no achievement. When I look at the stats page I have 20 weapons but only 16 in weapons tab (I've got a couple doubles) do the weapons have to be unique?

Edit: I got the achievement after I had 20 unique weapons, ended up with 26 total.

BTW, you need 75 Dwellers in order to unlock the 3rd upgrade for the Weapon Factory.

I have about 30 unique weapons - still not unlocked.
Don't know what to do, stuck at 95% (19/20).

Duplicates don't count for me. The tracker only goes up if a new one is added to the survival guide collection. Same with outfits. Thankfully duplicates do count for the legendary dwellers though.

If you put 6 dwellers with the maxed out SPECIAL-skill required for the specific weapon you'd like to build and then put some Armor adding +5 or more in the desired skill you can do a new legendary weapon in less than 2 days/each. My advice is to put fully trained dwellers on manufacturing until you get this and the corresponding achievement for Armors.

Update:
I deleted all my save data locally and on cloud, started everything form scratch, got 20 unique legendary weapons (not in your stats count, but in the page where you can actually see the image of each one) and it finally unlocked.
Yay.
Now I can go work on the 20 Legendary Dwellers (I have 6 right now).

For anyone that gets their Weapon or Armor progress stuck - you need to delete all your save data from local and cloud and start from scratch.

This achievement is for collecting 20 different Legendary Weapons. E.g., if you have already collected The Lone Wanderer pistol and you later get a Legendary Dweller that comes with the same pistol, the achievement does not credit the second instance of that weapon. This also means that you cannot craft the same Legendary Weapon repeatedly in the Weapon Workshop to get the achievement.

You can get Legendary Weapons in four ways:

1) Finding legendary loot when exploring or on quests. Some quests will include Legendary Weapons and Legendary Outfits as rewards for the quest. Usually, when a legendary item is included in a quest, it will be shown in the quest screen, but I have also recovered legendary weapons and outfits on the intermittent exploration quests. When a Legendary Weapon is included on a Quest, it is either indicated by showing the actual weapon as a reward or is shown as a gold weapon icon to indicate that some Legendary Weapon will be rewarded.

2) Crafting weapons in the Weapon Workshop. Once you have enough dwellers, you can upgrade the Weapon Workshop to build Legendary Weapons. You will need to find recipes for the weapons on quests or on exploration quests. Legendary Weapons each require several pieces of legendary junk to build, as well as caps and time.

3) Legendary Dwellers sometimes come wielding a Legendary Weapon. Some Legendary Dwellers come wielding a Legendary Weapon, but the weapon will only count toward this achievement if you have not previously collected that weapon, e.g. Amata Almodovar, Butch DeLoria and Reginald Rothchild all come wielding The Lone Wanderer, but only one instance of the weapon will count toward the achievement.

4) Lunch boxes contain Legendary Weapons as rare cards. The same rules apply to duplicates.

Duplicate do count. I crafted two dragon maw and both counted.

I had 19 unique weapons, and on a quest got a second Wazer Wifle for my 20th weapon and the achievement unlocked, so duplicates do count.

I think duplicates may count. I have 90% progress (18/20) currently in the tracker. In the Survival Guide Weapons tab I only have 15 unlocked.

I have 13 legendary weapons. Achievement just popped. I'm wondering if you unequal it during a mission if it collects it again

Don't know if you actually need 20 actual weapons or not. I only have 10 Legendary weapons, but my tracker said I was 95%, the achievement just popped for me upon picking up a Legendary Weapon Recipe during a quest. I checked my Recipes and I have 10 Legendary Weapon Recipes now. I am still crafting my 1st Legendary weapon from those recipes (as it takes 5+ days).

I just looked at my outfits as well, I have 6 Legendary outfits, and 10 Recipes (haven't started crafting any of the outfits yet) and my tracker says i'm 80%.

So I am thinking that the actual recipe for Legendaries is counting as having a legendary.

I think it's cumulative across all your Vaults that you start on your gamertag. I'm on my second vault (first one was a horrible failure, quit it after an hour when I figured out what to do in the game), and started the second one, but my achievement percentages don't quite match up.

@AshamanND - Delete your save from your console and the cloud and restart. That's literally all you can do.

Thanks, although I'm inclined to wait until I get the 20 Legendary dwellers first.
That seems to be tracking - even if painfully slow at finding them.

Legendary weapons can be acquired randomly when you are out on quests, found when a dweller is exploring the wastelands, crafted in you weapon workshop, or obtained from opening a lunchbox. It doesn’t matter if you have duplicates of the same weapon and once you have received your 20th legendary weapon, the achievement will unlock.

We create a new shelter, or you can do it in an existing one. After creation, press the PS button, Settings, date and time and reset the counter - exactly 7 days ahead. The game thinks that we actually spent 7 days in it and gives us 1 lunchbox every week. We go back into the game and accept the daily gift and so on every time until we get 2 trophies for legendary items.

For the trophy, you need to collect 20 legendary weapons, i.e. yellow. This hint is also useful for the trophy, where you need to collect 20 types of Legendary Costumes! What to do with things that do not fit in the warehouse, well, first of all, build several Warehouse rooms and upgrade them to the maximum level. When the warehouse is already full, we under no circumstances sell them, we turn them into junk, which is also needed for the trophy (turn 500 guns and suits into junk). If there are many residents in the shelter, build living rooms, or simply kick them out, choosing one resident and sending him out the door of the shelter.

It is POSSIBLE to sell/disassemble things, but the trophy must be made only on one save! Personally, for me, 2 of these trophies fell on 180-190 lunchbox. Alas, I haven’t yet found a faster way, except perhaps making them myself on a workbench, but this requires legendary junk and quite a lot of caps. I also want to note that you will come across legendary characters, they ALWAYS have legendary things in their equipment, a suit or a gun or all at once, do not forget to remove all their gear before kicking them out.

I still understood why everyone’s crafted clothes weren’t counted. Because you need to collect 20 different legendary items, not the same ones. Click -> survival guide and see how many legendary items you have. In general, you need to collect 20 different legendary trunks and 20 different legendary costumes.

I got a trophy for 13 weapons in the counter. I managed to craft 2 weapons, the rest was all from quests or lunchboxes (+legendary residents).
it seems that all the weapons were different, but, in any case, the counter/description lies.

I can talk about simplifying this trophy. Wind back the clock closer to the New Year. Around December 25th. New Year's events appear in missions. They are very quick to complete. Sometimes it's just talk, for which they can give you a legendary. Just ask Santa or his helpers for a weapon. Sometimes a legendary drops out.

I crafted it myself and 4 fell out of the boxes, in the end I was given an achievement exactly on receiving the 20th weapon in my inventory, while I only had 18 DIFFERENT ones... everything was done in one single shelter

The bug works, but if you accidentally forget to change the month, it can count 1 day, so in order not to get into the stop circle you need to add another 6 days, and then again and again 7 days.

Nothing hangs if you switch everything carefully. You just need to switch the days instead of the clock, the months with the days, and the year with the months. If you initially had December 31st, 18th, and then you forgot to switch the year and changed it to January 1st of the same 18th, then of course the game will have problems.

I wonder how the person who wrote this tip played. I've already filled 260 lunchboxes, one legendary weapon is missing. If you create them, the game will not count them as collected. And when you kick people out, everything goes away with him. There is a bug in the glitch for receiving lunchboxes. When you save frequently, when you step over a week or more, it happens that the counter freezes at the 24-hour countdown on the 7th day. It will go on, the days will not reset to zero, but the time counter will remain. I’ve been dealing with this for two days now, I don’t know how to deal with it. Keep in mind. And here is the most important advice. Start playing, shove the first people into rooms and start farming lunchboxes until you're blue in the face. Ideally, 350-400 pieces, just to be sure. After that, calmly open them and complete the rooms in proportion to the number of residents.

As I understand it, not only weapons are counted, but also legendary weapon blueprints. My trophy dropped when one of the residents brought a drawing from a mission.

The collected legendary weapons count, you don’t have to bother with lunchboxes, but just craft 20 legendaries and the trophy drops, I checked it personally.
