This achievement may be either slightly misleading or slightly glitched. I played with my pet (ie games etc) for six consecutive days. On the seventh day the achieveemnt popped as the main screen (ie my room) apeared with me and the dog - so no actual playing happened.

I think that "playing" means to just logging in to visit your pet. So I don't think it's a glitch.

The days in the game change in real time, meaning that Tuesday in the game is actually Tuesday in your time zone. For this achievement to unlock, you need to load up the game every day for seven straight days and choose to complete any game activity. After completing the final consecutive game, a week after your start date, the achievement will unlock.
This can also be done offline by manually manipulating the date of your Xbox. See “Grand high pet master” for specific information on how to complete this.
