Once you have sails and furnace. Set furnace to full power by jumping on it untill the dial is all the way to the right. Set the sails to full speed by making sure the flag is all the way to the top. Stand on top of the ship at the front.
Cannot be done upon first gaining the furnace as there is no wind at that point. Section 19 I believe is the earliest this can be attained.

Just to clarify, this can be done as early as section 13 (between 13 and 14). You need engine upgrade + max. engine + run to sail and set to max. speed then run to front.

I could not get it to work between 13 and 14 due to the cliff blocking my sail from working.

This is best accomplished once you have the engine attached and are able to have both the engine going at full blast (the boost feature isn't really necessary) and the sail open fully with a good wind pushing you along. Once you are at full speed, stand at the front tip of the ship and you should see this trophy pop.

Here is my walkthrough of the campaign, part 3, that shows exactly where to get this achievement.
1. This is done after the engine upgrade, and a bit later after installing the new stern as the wind has returned.
2. Start the engine up, and leave the area where you attached the stern.
3. When out in the open, raise the mast, and put the sails to the left side of the ship, fully in the wind.
4. Get the engine fully powered so that the gauge is in the blue, and the temperature is rising.
5. Rush to the front of the boat, and stand on the front.

After you have obtained the first engine upgrade where your ship uses the mechanical paddles for propulsion, you will come to an open area where you can accomplish this. The seas start out calm but will begin to turn choppy and you will see dark clouds in the distance. You then need to raise the sails and harness the wind so that the flag raises all of the way to the top of the mast. Then go down into the ship and move the speed lever all the way to the right and start the fire. Stoke the fire until the gauge moves to the max position in the blue shaded area. Then just get to the top of the boat and stand near the very front and the achievement should pop after a few seconds.
