I have a whole playthrough of the first several areas, including this whole section:
This requires going to the far right, to where you open the giant door, and go through it to your boat.
1. At the top of the boat is a pull out button, that pulls sideways to the left. Pull this to raise the sail.
2. When it hits the top, let go.
3. Climb the mast/sail to the top and grab the cord up there.
4. Jump down and to the left, and attach it to the top of the boat.
5. There will be a pull button/lever between the initial button and the spot where you attached the rope. Push it to the middle of two and it will put the sails to the side of the boat. This is how it will move, unlocking the achievement.
6. This will have you sailing optimally and quick. Retract the mast by doing the opposite of what was required to raise it when coming to a bridge, or it will be damaged. Retract the sails when sailing next to a building.
- Damaging the boat is good for another achievement, which requires the repair tool at the next area: the Sawmill.
