Far Cry 2

Using this method I have been able to fix both Fallen Eagle (Sniper Ghost Warrior) and Safari Tour (Far Cry 2). It is also verified to fix Mister NO It All (Command & Conquer 3).

*** SOLUTION TO UNGLITCH SAFARI TOUR ***

The "Safari Tour" achievement is GLITCHY and may not unlock properly. The Safari Tour glitch is believed to be directly related to downloading the additional DLC maps before completing the achievement - apparently the DLC maps break the in-game map counter. In addition, Safari Tour may not unlock properly if the final map is played in Uprising and you are the Captain.

Currently, there is NO patch to fix this glitch.

HOWEVER, you CAN still get the achievement. And yes, this solution allows you to get it online - although it takes a little work.

SOURCE OF PROBLEM - The in-game achievement counter/tracker for Far Cry 2 "permanently" breaks if the DLC maps are downloaded and on your system when you play Far Cry 2 - preventing Safari Tour from unlocking. Additionally, the in-game achievement tracker may break if the final map in the "Safari Tour" cycle is played in Uprising and you are the Captain (I have seen this happen but cannot verify if the person had the DLC or not). Unfortunately, replaying the maps using different methods and variants does not unlock the achievement.

Because the in-game stats are TIED DIRECTLY TO YOUR PROFILE (GAMERTAG), methods such as (i) deleting the saved game, (ii) recovering your Profile (Gamertag), (iii) clearing your cache or (iv) using a different "uncorrupted" Xbox DO NOT work to reset the in-game stats to allow you to get the achievement.

You can likely get these achievements by doing the achievement criteria again.

Multiplayer Ranked stats ARE NOT reset as the reside on the Far Cry 2 servers.

HOW TO FIX THE GLITCH - In short, we are resetting ALL of your in-game stats to zero using the "Mister NO It All" method.

This method works with:
- Original Xbox - yes
- Elite Xbox - yes
- Slim Xbox - yes
- Memory Card - yes
- USB - yes
- Online - yes

STEP 1 - Move your Profile (Gamertag) on to the Memory Card/USB.

STEP 2 - Delete the DLC map packs - this is to primary source of the achievement problems and they CANNOT be on the Xbox for the achievement to work.

STEP 2A - You may want to consider moving your Saved Games to another device - it is unclear if Saved Games will "prevent" the in-game stats from being reset.

STEP 3 - From the Dashboard, launch Far Cry 2. You will need the Title Update to continue. If the Title Update downloads, you may want to relaunch from the Dashboard.

STEP 4 - During the loading screen when you see the publisher and "launch" cinematics, pull out the Memory Card/USB. A Message saying "Please Reinsert Memory Card" will appear - ignore this for now.

STEP 5 - Promptly hit Start to go to the Main Menu. The game will attempt to "find" the in-game stats that are tied to your Profile (Gamertag) but will not be able to find them - because they are on the Memory Card/USB you removed. The game will then "reset" the in-game stats to zero for any achievement - basically this tricks the game into thinking you have not played it before.

STEP 6 - Promptly select Multiplayer on the Main Menu. The game will say "Account Loading" (or something similar) as it contacts the Far Cry 2 servers.

STEP 7 - Reinsert Memory Card/USB - you MUST reinsert the Memory Card/USB before starting a multiplayer game or you will have to do this process over again.

STEP 8 - Verify your Profile (Gamertag) is synced with the Memory Card/USB reinserted. Press the Xbox Guide button and scroll one page to the left to verifty your total Gamerscore is correct. If it is correct, Profile (Gamertag) is synced. If your total Gamerscore score shows 0G - the Profile (Gamertag) is not synced (you may want to run the check a second time to verify it is not a timing issue). To correct an unsynced Profile (Gamertag), either (i) remove and reinsert Memory Card/USB or (ii) restart from Step 3.

Note - There may be an element of timing/speed for reinserting the Memory Card/USB to maintain the sync. It may not work the first time BUT this method does work.

STEP 9 - Play the Official Maps in Ranked Multiplayer (with a boosting friend is best). The fastest and safest method to do this is (i) play ALL BUT THE LAST MAP (13 out of 14) in Uprising allowing one person to capture the points to quickly complete each map and (ii) play the LAST MAP in Deathmatch either having one person kill to end the match faster or wait for the timer to countdown.

Note - The Host can "Force Start" matches to quick launch them.

STEP 10 - Achievement Unlocked "Safari Tour". One glitched achievement FIXED.
