Headshot Every Type of Enemy

How to unlock the The Only True Stopper achievement in Far Cry 3 Blood Dragon - Definitive Guide

Kill every type of enemy with a headshot.

This is missable because there are enemies encountered during the 5th, 6th and 7th missions which cannot be found in the open world and you cannot repeat those missions without reloading a save or restarting the entire campaign. All the required enemies are humanoid- in fact cyborgs, no animals are counted, and they are distinguished by the types of weapons they carry.

The following enemies will be encountered throughout the open world and during many side-missions. Simply aim for their head with the Kobracon, A.J.M., Fazertron, Terror 4000, or Galleria 1991 and keep shooting, even through armour, until it says in the top left corner 'Headshot'.

External image

From left to right in picture:
> Omega Flamethrower - Flamer
> Omega Pyro - Molotox
> Omega Foot Soldier - Fazertron Assault Rifle
> Omega Sniper - Kobracon Sniper Rifle
> Omega Heavy - Terror 4000 Minigun

Also not pictured is the:
> Omega Close Range - Galleria Shotgun
You can spot these close range troops as they have a 'lightning / Close Range' symbol above their heads when using Cyber-Eye.

You also need headshots on the Elite variants of these cyborgs. You will encounter three of these types of cyborgs during the Predator Side missions as your main target. You can tell an Elite variant from a normal ones because the Elites are bright neon yellow and the symbol above their heads with Cyber-Eye active is also yellow. If you miss the headshot during the Side-mission you can repeat the side-missions later by going into Options, Gameplay, then Reset Garrisons, to reset ALL the Garrisons on the map. I don't advise this however as you will encounter many of these Elite variants during the final mission so don't worry if you missed some:

> Elite Omega Flamethrower - Flamer
> Elite Omega Foot Soldier - Advanced Fazertron Assault Rifle
> Elite Omega Pyro - Molotox
> Elite Omega Sniper - Advanced Kobracon Sniper Rifle
> Elite Omega Heavy - Advanced Terror 4000 Minigun
> Elite Omega Close Range - Advanced Galleria Shotgun

During the 5th Main mission (incidentally not your 5th side mission), you will see undead scientists in green glowing chambers, these are known as 'Running Dead'. Shoot the glass to unleash them, then headshot them, don't worry if you don't get one now you will certainly get a lot during the 6th mission:

External image

> Running Dead Melee - Machete

During the 6th mission you will encounter hoards of the previous type of Running Dead mixed with two new types, to ensure you get the achievement make sure you get a headshot on all three types:

> Running Dead Close Range - Galleria Shotgun
> Running Dead Pyro - Molotox

The 7th and final mission is the only place to find the last type of enemy. They look like Omega Foot Soldiers but are different in that they have Rocket Launchers. There is one up on your left immediately after breaching the large gate at the start:

> Omega Rocket Troop - Rocket Launcher
(*You do not need an Elite variant of the Rocket Troop)

Upon killing your final enemy with a headshot the achievement should pop immediately.

Don't forget to upvote if this solution helped any, and don't hesitate to PM me or comment with any questions no matter how trivial, nice one.

Just a quick note. Maybe a glitch, but I unlocked this during the arena area with the Running Dead guys. I did not need to headshot the rocket launcher dude in the last level.

I have heard ppl say that before, mine unlocked with the Rocket Troop on the 7th mission so I believe he is required by default. You may have killed one in the open area and didn't notice or the game someway bugged in your favour, either way congrats, I'll leave the Rocket Troop in as some peeps will require him.

I got mine on the first shotgun running dead. Don't remember headshotting a molotox running dead, but there are plenty of opportunities in mission 6.

I also got my rocket kill on the guy in the zip-line tower on mission 5 after you make your way past all those smaller groups of enemies in the reservoir.

Ah, yep. I think that may be where I got the rocket kill as well, because mine popped on the shotgun running dead too. Yeah, definitely leave the rocket guy in there.

At any rate, this solution is much clearer, and better laid out than the others. Thanks for the help!

Like others, I found rocket troops in the second-to-last mission. I killed the melee running dead in the same mission, then on the first headshot to a shotgunner running dead, the achievement popped up. I haven't seen a molotox running dead yet, so if they do exist then headshotting them apparent;y isn't necessary.

There are loads of Molotox Running Dead mixed in with machete and shotgun Running dead in that mission so you may have killed some with headshots before they used a Molotox and not noticed.

I got the achievement just as I started the final mission and killed (with a head-shot) the first 3 soldiers I saw, which was presumably the rocket soldier everybody is talking about. I didn't do any side missions since I had got all the other achievements on my first play-through and had to start another just for this achievement, all in all it took about 2-3 hours to just do the main story up until the final level. Just try to remember which ones you head-shot as you progress or just head-shot every damn one of them.

This achievement can't be done with the Kobracon? I have been using almost exclusively that for the whole campaign as it is my favorite weapon.

Mine popped on the first rocket launcher guy in mission 7. I don't think I killed any elite snipers or elite close ranges or even elite molotovs. Is it possible you don't need the elite kills?

Ok, regarding "During the 5th Main mission (incidentally not your 5th side mission), you will see undead scientists in green glowing chambers, these are known as 'Running Dead'. Shoot the glass to unleash them, then headshot them"

I headshot at LEAST 5, and just normally killed like 10, and nothing came on the screen.....no green indecaters of the headshots, normal kills or even XP given.....

Everybody keeps saying you need to kill all the Elite variants too but I did not. I did kill the Elite Sniper with a headshot in the one side mission early on, and have killed both the Assault guys (Flamethrower & Minigun), but I have not ran into any of the other Elites yet and the achievement popped for me after I headshot an undead with a gun (never killed a molotov undead either, like others said)

you absolutely DO NOT have to kill elites, or even the rocket trooper...popped upon immediately shooting the the shotgun zombie in the head at the beginning of the 6th mission

Achievement just popped on my 2nd playthrough when I shot a Shotgun Running Dead. I wonder if I had bad luck and no shotgun RD spawned in the arena on my 1st playthrough?
3 things:
- You failed to list the Kobracon as a headshot weapon. Of course the Kobracon sniper rifle counts for headshots.
- You make it sound like all the Omegas have a flash symbol. You could add the corresponding symbol for each one.
- You implied that resetting the garrisons reset the side missions too. This is not true, if I'm not mistaken.

There is a rocket trooper in mission 5, just after the hang glider approach. You should be able to pop him before you enter the lab codes. If you're indoors, you missed him.

Edit: just popped for me during the pistol section of mission 6, took about a dozen running dead headshots.

I can confirm there is a rocket trooper in mission 5. I've taken a screenshot of them, which can be seen here: https://i.imgur.com/C0pK0mk.png

He has a tendency to fall off the tower I noticed, so I'd recommend sneaking onto this area so he doesn't start moving and shooting shit, headshot him, then move on.

Also yeah, you don't need to do any of the Elite variants, so you can hammer this achievement out in 2 hours from the start to mission 6, as every required enemy type appears in main missions.

I recommend to use Fazertron to all kills. It is very easy to control, even more with the attachments. All the Elites can be killed with this gun

By Neitan on 28 Dec 2021 00:34
For the Classic Edition, you only these need 9 (achievement tracker goes up 11% each time):

[1] Omega Force Foot Soldier (Fazertron)
[2] Omega Force Close Range (Galleria 1991)
[3] Omega Force Close Range (Molotox)
[5] Omega Force Heavy (Terror 4000)
[6] Omega Force Heavy (Flamer)
[7] Omega Force Sniper (Kobracon)
[7] Omega Force Sniper (RPG-7)
[8] Running Dead Close Range (Dragon Blade)
[8] Running Dead Close Range (Galleria 1991)

I did not need:
[8] Running Dead Close Range (Molotox)

Reading the other comments about which ones are needed and which ones are not, makes me think you only need 9/10. If you get the achievement on killing a Running Dead Molotox, then you won’t need one of the others.

i swear i saw a rocket trooper outside of the mission. I pitched in to help some scientists and it was like i had a 5 star wanted level because troops kept coming. One of them had a rocket launcher. This is in the XB1 version though. maybe they changed it.

I just popped this on the 6th mission when killing a Running Dead Close Range (Galleria 1991). I was at 88% prior to the achievement unlocking. I did not need to kill an Omega rocket launcher trooper. Might be a glitch, because I am almost 100% sure I had to kill them all when I played the original 360 version.

I also found a Rocket Trooper outside the last mission. I reset my garrisons, and while I was on my way to my 7th one, I saw a couple enemies just standing there and one had a Rocket Launcher in their hands. I got them with a headshot and the achievement popped.

Having just finished the game and getting the achievement on the final mission, you must kill the following, and their elite variants with headshots:

Cyborgs carrying shotguns
Cyborg Snipers
Cyborgs carrying Assault Rifles
Cyborg Molotoxers
Cyborgs with Armour and Heavy Weapons
Cyborgs with Flamethrowers
Cyborgs with Rocket Launchers
Both Running Dead variants, melee and assault.

(These last Running Dead two can be found in the 6th mission where you start with a pistol and move on to shotgun, followed by sniper, etc. You'll know which mission it is because it'll advise you that you can't turn back after initiating the mission.)

You can kill each elite variant whilst performing the side missions.

The rocket launcher cyborg was the last one I got on the last level, right after destroying the base door with the KillStar, though I had seen him before and obviously missed the headshot. He's up and to the left if that helps.

How do you headshot the guys with helmets and armour? Tried the sniper and it won't penetrate

By BertieHoth on 04 May 2013 11:53
You can keep shooting their helmets and they'll eventually break, then get the headshot.

Also, if people are going to down vote, at least have the common courtesy to mention why so I can improve the solution.

I'm not sure whether any spawn in the game world after you've completed the main game/garrisons. It might be worth driving around for a while to see if any randomly spawn, but that's the best I can suggest. Fortunately, I didn't have that issue.

I can confirm that the elite versions are not needed for this achievement. I only encountered the elite version of the "Cyborgs with Flamethrowers" before the last mission, and i still got my achievement during the first arena against the living dead. So before encountering any of the other elite versions during the last mission, the elite sniper for instance.

Just to add, at the very last mission, after you break down the door and wipe everyone out in that base, you'll come across a boat/submarine. Right on the dock, there's another rocket guy and above that, where the zipline is connected, there's 3 more rocket guys.

There's also a Rocket Launcher Cyborg in the mission ''I don't kill psychos, I hunt them all'' I believe it's called? Anyways, that's the mission right after ''What is this shit?''
He is in a tower at the left. Just climb the tower ladder, he shouldn't see you (Even if you smoked everybody with a shotgun before climbing the ladder...).

I don't play this any more and don't have it installed on my 360 to take images, I'm sure there are images knocking around somewhere for each, but now that you can reset the bases you can find all of them and the achievement is no longer missable.

I was unable to get a headshot on the Heavy with the Explosive Kobracon. No matter where I placed the the killing shot, it always counted as an "Explosive Kill"- even though I'm able to get headshots on every other enemy type with the same gun and attatchments.

I finally got one on the mission "We're All On A Boat". I cleared everyone else and hit the Heavy once with the Kobracon. After that, I took potshots with the assault rifle. It took about 5 or 6 shots as he patrolled his little path.

this is a missable achievement unless you like to aim for the face. You'll get this at the end of the game in the Mortal Kombat type arena unless you somehow miss the hints to shoot the dead in the head.

There are 8 types of enemies.
Cyborg Rifle men,
Cyborg Shotgunners,
Cyborg Molotox throwers,
Cyborg Snipers,
Cyborg Heavy Weapons Guy,
Cyborg Pyro,
Running Dead melee
Running Dead Rifle men.

The Running Dead only appear in the final 2 missions of the story. One of them you have to shoot them out of medical tubes that glow green in the underground base. Those only spawn the melee versions. In the final level where you have to kill a ton of enemies in the MK style arena is where you'll find the rifle men.

Do you have to do the elite versions of the cyborgs. Cause the guide here seem to say no but gamers comments above say yes which is it? Also if you do need the elite cyborgs can you still kill them when game is ended and all garrisons have been done do they still spawn after that?
