How to unlock the Poker Bully achievement in Far Cry 3 Classic Edition - Definitive Guide
When you clear the Harmanse Gas and Repair outpost to the southeast of Thurston Town, you'll unlock a mission called Father's Burden within Thurston Town (which should be shown as a blue exclamation mark on the map). This guy asks you to go get things back from three people. The first thing you need to do is get something back from a gambler. When you talk to him, he will ask you to go win money from people playing poker nearby.
Go to the poker area and pay the $500 buy in. Now just go all in each time with and keep skipping with to make it go faster. Because it's a mission you're guaranteed to take all their money, so don't worry if you lose one or two hands. It took me about 5 minutes and once all of them have left the table, you'll get your achievement.
1) Any winnings you get can be secured by quitting the table (buy-in's will be substracted)
2) Only winnings will count. You can lose too but it won't substract from your total winnings and progress towards this achievement.
3) You can check the progress by going to the Pause Menu --> Handbook --> --> World
Strategy
You can get this achievement by clearing out an Expert Buy-in table twice. If you're unlucky like me this might take a while. So I recommend going in with about 1000 bucks and saving before entering the pokerplace of your choosing.
4) If you do this late-game you can go the most north-eastern town of the second / southern island. The pokerplace is the shortest distance from the fast travel point compared to the other places
Then just be going all in before the flop when you have good cards.
Then skip with and see if you win. If you lose just repeat this strategy until you run out of money. Then dashboard and start again
However you might not clear out the ENTIRE table at once but if you manage to clear two people you already won 500 bucks. So quit the table and try again. As this is cumulative, every dollar you WIN will help towards this achievement. Nothing is substracted so even if you suck or are unlucky with this, you can get it fairly quickly.
- When a side quest named "Father's Burden" shows up in the North-eastern side of this island, go there and talk to the guy
- Eventually you'll get to a poker game, when there go ALL IN and skip with RB until you get the cheev
Also, by playing the games on the "Skilled" level, you can still see your Chances in every turn. This is if you, like me, aren't really good at knowing the rules of playing Poker, you can still get it. The Chances screen helped me understand what wins and what doesn't. I believe it's sorted from bottom to top.
After liberating certain Outposts, Poker will become available to play in certain little villages or towns. The Poker locations are shown to you via a Black Spade (card shape) icon. For this achievement you do not have to win $1500 all in one game or session. It's accumulative over the course of the game, so feel free to play when you can.
To win decent money, you're going to want to play the $250 buy-in games. Now to actually win profit money, you'll need to get over that $250 buy-in. So if you leave a game with $251 in your games bank, then you've made $1 and have $1499 to get.
The game of Poker isn't too hard to play and there are helpful note pages you can refer to if you need help. Sometimes you'll lose a few times in a row, while others you'll get a good hand and can be up to $750! It's based on luck and how you pay. If you also watch the video below, there's a nice little trick to try out for easy winnings.
To see your current earnings, head to you Handbook and press to go to the Statistics. Now scroll down to World and it'll be under there.
So, after activating the tower in this area, a side quest will open in which the “fisherman in a white Panama hat” will ask you to return three of his things. We are interested in the necklace. We go to the bar, nearby the radar will point you to a person from whom you need to pick up the very necklace that belongs to our fisherman. In exchange for the necklace, the character will ask you to go to a bar and win back the 300 bucks he lost in poker. Let's go. Entrance to the game is 500, you don’t need to choose a difficulty level, the tips work. We win the table and leave with 2000 in our pocket, we get
