How to unlock the Display Of Fortitude achievement in Far Cry 4 - Definitive Guide
There is Le Fleur's, Yuma, Noore and the one and only Pagan Min's to do and to be fair you get decent XP from each one. You can either do them in Coop which is fun or you can wait until you have decided the fate for every character as this will weaken each one meaning less guys inside.
I wouldnt recommend storming a fortress alone without deciding the fate of the character who's stronghold it is as they are actually quite hard even on easy!!!
Anyway conquer 2 for this achievement and do all 4 for more XP which will go towards skill points.
In order to earn this trophy, you will have to "conquer" 2 Fortresses. Fortresses are just like Outposts, but a bit harder and there are far more enemies as well. There are only 4 Fortresses in the game so you only need to liberate 2 of them, they're unlocked by progressing through the game. For spoiler purposes we will not mention how they're unlocked, but we will mention that all 4 will be available after you complete the main game.
The four Fortresses are as follows:
-
Varshakot (X: 512.3 Y: 432.6)
This is De Fluere's fortress, and is located just East of the Southern map. -
Baghadur (X. 197.2 Y: 595.5)
This is Noore's fortress, and is located just West of the Southern map. -
Ratu Gadhi (X:561.7 Y: 605.3)
This is Yuma's fortress, and is located just North of the Ghale Homestead. -
Rajgad Gulad (X: 810.8 Y: 787,2)
This is Pagan's fortress, and is located Northeast of the map.
The 2 recommended fortresses to liberate, are Noore's and De Fluere's fortress, as the enemies there are much easier to kill, where the fortress up North have harder enemies with better armor. Treat this as if you were liberating an outpost. You can disable alarms to avoid reinforcements, or use an M-79 to blast through enemies. You can also call Guns For Hire, or even play in Co-op by inviting a friend. It's also VERY important to mention that liberating a Fortress, will cause enemies to stop "attacking" your liberated Outposts. This could interfere with the Defender trophy by Repelling 3 Outpost Retaliation Parties, so do NOT liberate all 4 fortresses. If you have conquered every Fortress, then do not worry as you'll have the option to reset every Outpost/Fortress. This will, however make you lose all of your fast travel locations from Outposts and make it harder to repel an Outpost retaliation party. In order to be able to reset every outpost/fortress, you will have to select the "Reset Outposts" option from the "Gameplay (Campaign)" section located in the menu.
For example, I took the first fortress by sneaking into the territory of the fort through a hole, without hiding the enemies, I ran to the mortar and in 40-50 seconds I shot all the enemies, and they didn’t even call for help. I flew into the second fortress by helicopter, count straight into the tukomnuta where there are 2 shields with alarm. I turned them off and clearing the remaining enemies took the same as in the first fortress, about a minute.
In the last fortress, one remote control is located inside the room and cannot be turned off without entering the room. Alternatively, you can throw a grenade there, or shoot from an RPG.
A fortress with a disabled alarm becomes an easy target, because... there will be no reinforcements.
It will be much easier to complete all the missions that you encounter before this (to weaken the fortress), and do it in Co-op. Also, do not forget that you can call for help in the form of mercenaries. Which will make it even easier to capture fortresses.
