This achievement is straight forward, and you should have no problem unlocking it during your standard playthrough, as Yetis appear frequently in the later game, for example in some of the optional Relay Station Upgrade Quests.

Good solution, I actually found a yeti after the first night while doing the station upgrade quests. It jumped out at me as I was driving one of the trucks back to base.

If you have the harpoon gun, keep that with you, one shot from that to the head makes the Yeti bend over in pain. Reload the next Harpoon, jump onto the yetis back until you get taken off then shoot it one last time in the chest and it should die.

And I shot down a yeti on a truck, which needs to be driven to the station in missions to improve the radio station. The truck kills him right away, it doesn’t work on regular cars.
