How to unlock the From A Distance achievement in Far Cry 4 - Definitive Guide

Purchase the recurve Bow with Marksman Sight Attachment. Both cost a total of $92000. Then find an Enemy or more in the World. Good Places are Outpost (As a reminder, you can replay every Outpost with the new Outpost Master Option)
When you find an enemy or good place for you, put a Marker on the Worldmap in the near of the Enemy or mark something else as Range Indicator. Go away until the Marker show 60+ Meters.
With the Marksman Sight Attachment aim between the 50 and 80 Meter Lines and shoot.

I know in far cry 3 you could use the explosive bolt and it would still count. This is a much easier way to do this achievement but curious if it still counts in far cry 4?

Did it 2 weeks ago and it shows as Done, unlocking!. Tried everything that MS suggests and still nothing. Suggestions?

Use crosbow instead, it isn't (or at least less) affected by gravity and still counts.

You'll need to purchase and equip the Recurve Bow (K 60,000) and Marksman Sight (K 32,000) in order to make this achievement a lot easier.

Now you can use the map to fast travel to any previously liberated towers or outposts, and then you'll want to choose any outpost. Go to that outpost, and approach it. Use your binoculars to mark some enemies, and use the distance to the outpost as a reference for your distance.

You'll want to line up your arrow and use the markers in the scope to compensate for arrow drop. Just line up your shoot, and kill the enemy from 60m or more to unlock the achievement. If you miss or are spotted, you can die and respawn at a checkpoint to try again.

To obtain this Achievement you need to first purchase the Recurve Bow and then buy the Marksman Sight to make it easier for you.
Travel to Rochan Brick Co. Shipping and stay outside the Outpost line up your shot and hold down the shoot button for a longer shot. If you fail simply get yourself killed and you can retry right where you started.

Buy the Recurve Bow and the Marksman sight for 92,000. The Marksman Sight is not necessary for the achievement/trophy, but it makes the aiming a lot easier.
This can be done anywhere on the map. The spot in the video has a guard standing outside of the outpost (X:393 Y:503). Set up a marker for this outpost on the map so you have a rough indicator on the distance. The marker should show about 65-70m just to be sure.

If you miss the guard, kill yourself to get to the last checkpoint near the outpost.

Buy a crossbow with optical view and silenced.

Only If you already liberate the Outpost:
Fast travel to the Outpost called Rochan Brick Co. Shipping,
Coordinates X: 393.8 Y: 503.8
If you replay the outpost, the game will respwon you over a hill , with an enemy down in front of you. Use your crossbow to kill him and you will get the achievements.
You can retry using restart mission in the game menu.

If you don't have already liberate this outpost
Go to this coordinate X: 400.9 Y: 507.4 it's the exactly spot over the hill.
You can kill the enemy, and then proceed, to liberate the outspot.
if you die, you respown, near the outpost .

Easy way to get the achievement. All you need to have done is:
*Capture the first outpost.
*buy the recurve bow with marksman sight.

First things first is you want to get the recurve bow(60,000) and the marksman sight(32,000) is optional. The hunters bow you get through natural progression from Amita is really tough to kill someone from that distance, unless you got high above them and shot down. Next find anywhere you can set a waypoint so you know how far away you are from the enemy. Finally find somewhere you can get enemies to spawn, I went to the Kyra Tea Weigh Station, select one and make sure you are more than 60 meters away. Boom, the achievement is yours!

A great place to get this achievement is one of the fortresses. Equip explosive arrows and shoot the chopper from across the map when they are unloading guys. It'll pop when the helicopter goes down. My friend got it in Co-op too.

ALL OF THESE SOLUTIONS ARE MAKING THIS NEEDLESSLY COMPLICATED. USE THIS TO GET IT IN 5 SECONDS
Modified version of Poia's solution.

Only If you already liberate the Outpost:

Coordinates X: 393.8 Y: 503.8
If you replay the outpost, the game will respawn you over a hill , with an enemy down in front of you. Immediately use your autocross and empty the entire clip in a barrage of arrows on him and you will get the achievement

You can retry using restart mission in the game menu.

Seriously don't know why everyone insists on using the recurve bow.

I got this by accidentally shooting an ally Golden Path member from the top of a bell tower. laugh So you don't even have to shoot a enemy. smile

I got this trophy while shooting a fella way off in the distance with an explosive arrow. The arrow didn't even hit the guy but right next to him and I still got the trophy. Hope this helps!

Thanks for this solution. Was trying to shoot enemies with normal arrows, but failed. Got the trophy in 2 shots with an explosive arrow!

The easiest way I found to gain this trophy was by equipping the Recurve Bow with the Marksman Sight attached that shows different distance markers. Fast travel to Rochan Brick Co. Shipping (left of Chal Jama Monastery) and start outpost master. Once started, you should see an enemy directly in front which is the required distance (use camera to mark if necessary). Kill him and the trophy will pop. Might take a few tries if your not familiar with the bows like I was.

Before you even attempt this trophy, you should buy the Recurve Bow. It costs 60,000R and can be bought from any trading post. We also recommend buying the marksman sight for it (24,000R) as this will make aiming with the bow much easier. Once you have that done, you want to head to the "Seven Treasures Ashram (X:432, Y:387). Once you are there, scale the hill west of the outpost (west, on the map screen). Once you are at a decent height you will be able to see all of the outpost. There should be an enemy working near one of the walls, he will always be there and not move. Set a waypoint on the camp and keep walking up the hill until it says 60m to waypoint. Now, simply aim the bow at him and shoot. It will be a one hit kill anywhere in the body, so if you successfully hit him then the trophy will unlock. if you already liberated this Outpost, simply replay it by going to the flag icon in the outpost. Another good place to get it, is in Shangri-la. Here the bow can slow down time so it is easier to aim, it also has no distance drop. Credit to pmm_fin for the method. We kill the enemy from a long distance (more than 60m) from a Compound Bow, which you will first purchase in the store. There you will also be sure to buy a convenient Hunting Optical Sight for him. The video shows a good location:

Although it’s easy to find a victim even without a video, use the map to mark as a “control point” the place where the enemy is standing so that the distance to him is shown.

You CAN shoot an explosive stencil without really aiming. Enemies within the explosion radius will die and this will be counted

The easiest way to kill is with a crossbow since it has no recoil or spread; it replaced a sniper rifle for me the whole game

With a regular bow, you need to aim a little higher than the target so that the arrow reaches where it should, so to speak.
