How to unlock the Master of the Awakened achievement in Far Cry 4 - Definitive Guide

As long as you play the whole game in singleplayer, you do not need to search for them. You will see more then 5 through the story progress.

To kill them, you should use some explosive weapon like the grenade launcher on him. If they have enough damage taken (Something about 3-4 hits), they are starting to crouch. Now its your time to go behind them, and make a takedown with cn_RS. Be ready for rapid pressing a button then. After that, they are dead, and you will earn 3,000 credits for each.

While the grenade method works I find it quicker to just head shot the yeti with the lmg such as the driller a dozen times to make them crouch then run behind him and use the take down.

Elephant gun works very quickly as well (2-3 head shots). I would add that the health and syringe perks in the Elephant upgrade tree, make this and other DLC achievements very quick and easy.

Totally agree an lmg and the elephant gun are better but explosives do the trick nicely as well

Just a heads up, I ran over and killed a Yeti in a truck, didn't get the "Killed Yeti" points, only got 1000 and 1 skill point, but it still counted towards my 5. If you're having trouble, just run the buggers down!

I have killed over 50 and and it wouldn't unlock. I then went for the hard reset, re-launched the game, and it unlocked.

fwiw, this just popped for me - I think I have killed a dozen of the ugly buggers, all killed the same way - shot them with a grenade launcher and then finished them off with a takedown. Not sure what I have done wrong or differently. The *ONLY* thing I can think of is I got five in a row without dying. I had died a lot climbing previously trying to get some of the defense upgrades.

EASIEST SOLUTION FOR ACHIVEMENT!!!

All the other solutions are great but by far the best is to get to x706 y581 where there is a mounted truck (or pick one up somewhere else and drive up here).

Once there just keep circling the bowl and every couple of minutes a Yeti will appear, drive close and then hit "A" to jump on the mounted gun and mow the Yeti down in seconds!

It literally takes a couple of seconds to kill one with the infinite ammo, constant fire mounted gun and I had all 5 within 10mins or so!

Very good spot, but I used the AMR as it is a 1 shot kill for Yeti's.

Here is a video https://www.youtube.com/watch?time_continue=216&v=YyjJtU... , not mine. It also shows some other great guns aswell

Perfect spot and awesome suggestion by FollsandKings. I perched up above (on the way to the upgrade mission) and sniped them as they spawned.

i used a big truck, 1 hit and he is dead!
you can use grenade, molotov, rpg. when you are without the truck. when he bends over just do RS and the mash button

(i had the truck from the quest mission, he was walking over the road. i did the roadkill and i got the achievement)

Yes, I did this too! It was just stood in the road as I was delivering a truck to my relay station. I actually flinched when I hit it thinking I was going to total the truck but it just got launched away by 100ft or so laugh definitely easier than chasing it round with grenades. Although you don't get 3000xp from killing it this way, only 1000 I think.

grenade launcher is the best to deal with him ... I found th M-79 at the coordinates X: 360 Y:489
and GL-A87 at the coordinates X: 348 Y:295 ... 3-4 hits and he will be stunned , takedown from the back and smash his head easy :)

This achievement is pretty straightforward. There are a lot of yetis roaming around in the Northern area of the map. I feel an easy way to take these guys down is to jump on a rock that the yeti can't get to.

Their head is their weak point so use an LMG or grenade launcher and shoot them in the head until they're stunned and crouched down. From there go behind their back and click in the RS stick to execute them. BY doing that you'll jump on their back and a quick time event pops where it'll tell you to smash either X, A, or B and by doing that you'll perform an execution and the Yeti will go down. Do this five times and the cheevo is yours.

This achievement is very easy! You will likely get this through general progression through the Valley of Yeti Campaign
Near the top of the map, there is an open field, and usually a yeti. Kill the yeti with a grenade launcher or a strong weapon (the buzzsaw is probably the best weapon for this job) and when it goes down, approach it and perform a take down cn_RS and mash the button that comes up (Y, X, B, A) and the yeti will go down. Once you have killed it, (skinning is optional but you get an item worth around 90K) flee the area, wait a few moments (I traversed through the mountain just opposite the area) and came back and it should respawn (it worked 5/5 for me). Go back and kill it, and you should have the achievement within no time.

**Another way is to just find them around the world as you complete the DLC, and in the Night Survival Missions (You should get this when you finish the final invasion)**

Like the others said, the number isn't a problem they Areally easy find. C4 is the best trick for killing them. One blast and they are weakened to the point of take down. Nice and easy!

Yetis are the biggest beasts in the world of Far Cry 4. They are very tough but with the right knowledge they are easy to take down. The best way to take them down is either to use explosives or aim for the head with an LMG. After they have been weakened enough they will get on hands and legs and you can do a quick time event to take them down with to jump on their back and then push several times either , , or depending on which button appears to deal the final blow. Alternatively you can keep shooting the Yeti after it is down to kill it, (thanks GAZDAN for the tip).

Below is an example of how to kill a Yeti efficiently. I am using the PKM which can be found on heavy enemies, after it is found once you can buy it in the store inside the shack at the Relay Station.

There will be a lot of them, you don’t need to look for them specifically, they will come across in missions and also attack at night along with enemies at the base, so you will collect 5 of them during the game. One thing is that the DLC does not have a save button, so if you killed 2 yetis between automatic saves, and the third one killed you, they will not count towards the overall score.

You can save if there is no active mission. And you can bring them down with a harpoon, 4-5 shots, depending on your luck. The most fun thing is to climb a raised rock and shoot at a shooting range. Nothing complicated.

As was said in the previous hint, 5 yetis will easily be collected by the end of the expansion, but if you can’t wait to get this trophy, then at point X: 744.7 Y: 391.9 (where the task to save 10 yaks is taken) they come to this place about every 5 minutes (I was even lucky enough to fight two yetis once)

There are more than enough of them in the game.
