How to unlock the ARCADE Hero achievement in Far Cry 5 - Definitive Guide

On the main menu, select Arcade. Once you're in Arcade mode, press cn_RB and select your preferred Arcade Hero mode. I got this achievement by selecting "Arcade Hero - Solo and Co-Op" and was randomly transported (solo) to a very easy map that allowed me to hijack a helicopter and kill a target that put up no resistance. I unlocked this achievement in a few minutes after playing this map a few times (upon completion, you can replay the map that was randomly selected for you if you want).

I can't say for sure whether killing the target and completing the mission mattered for the achievement, but based on the achievement description, you can probably just play any map to completion, win or lose, and make progress towards this achievement.

I'm also not sure if there is some way to select specific maps in this mode. After getting the achievement, I tried this mode out several times and never found a way to select a specific map (you can, however, play another random map by pausing the game and selecting the "play another map" option, which could land you upon an easier map if wins are needed).

If anyone can confirm that losses count, or if there is a way to select specific maps, please let me know and I'll update the solution.

Edit: According to pezboyben, losses do count towards this achievement. Just play any 5 Arcade Hero games to completion and you'll get the achievement.

I'm sure it doesn't need any extra clarification, but you can just spawn in and suicide or get yourself killed right away and it still counts

I had the achievement tracker up while I was doing this, and the failures still counted. It seems if you can find a way to die quickly enough (killing yourself seems to be impossible) then you can just suicide your way to this achievement.

For anybody who still has to do it: I can confirm that you don't actually have to play the whole thing. You can die right after you started and then replay it, so it doesn't matter. I got the achievement although I finished it only one time and the other 2 times I died and checked my progression. It counts so I decided to kill myself again 2 more times and the achievement popped

I just threw molotovs at my feet 5 times. I even gained a level, lol, so there is no downside to failing.

The maps and games that people have created are absolutely terrible. I would recommend just offing yourself from the start as losses do count.

Quick guide:
-Go to Arcade Mode
-Select Hero mode
-Load in and suicide or play the entire map. Both will count
-Replay or play next map


Extra info:
-You can do this with a friend
-No need to download the maps before launching. That's only if you want to edit the map

From the main menu, select "Arcade" then across to "Arcade / Community" page. Now select either "Arcade Hero - Solo & Co-op’’ or ‘Arcade Hero - Multiplayer" and complete the five random maps given to you or the multiplayer game.

You have to complete the level given to you in order for it to count towards the achievement; you cannot enter and then quit. If you receive a really easy level, just replay it; it still counts towards the achievement, so you do not have to play five different maps.

Arcade Hero is accessed on the main Arcade menu by pressing to tab over to 'Community'. Here you can play co-op or multiplayer maps; play 5 games across both to unlock the trophy.

Select Single and joint game. more Hero Arcade -Solo/co-op. A random map is loaded immediately, a grenade at your feet and a quick loss, and repeat this 5 times.

Open the "Arcade" mode, go to "Single and co-op", then "Arcade Hero - single / co-op". Next you are thrown into a “random” map. After starting the map, throw 1-2 grenades at you. You should die instantly. Then click "Repeat". And do this 5 times. The trophy is yours.

the fastest way is to throw a Molotov cocktail or a grenade at your feet, die and immediately replay ;-)
