How to unlock the ARCADE Player achievement in Far Cry 5 - Definitive Guide

This achievement is getting to Level 20 in Arcade Mode (Map Creator / Multiplayer). It only takes a few hours (between 2-4 hours). You can do this in solo, co-op, or MP arcade. I strongly recommend you do this in MP as a) you will need to play a lot to get ARCADE Competitor and ARCADE Hunter, to the point where this will probably be earned through natural progression, and b) you will get a 20% XP boost with a win + more initial XP in most cases playing MP > Solo/Co-op.

Aside from that, just play Arcade mode and you'll get this naturally. The only thing to note is as of 2nd April 2018, please be warned that there is an unknown glitch causing people to lose progress. I got to Level 12 by playing for fun, came back after getting all single player achievements and my ARCADE level was reset to 1. Ubisoft are aware of this, and there are workarounds so don't fear; a) do it in one session (set some time aside, a weekend..a day off..etc.) or b) Don't exit Far Cry 5 if that isn't possible. If you want to turn your Xbox off, put it on the off mode which allows you to resume progress and not a complete hard reset.

You should add that XP is granted based on the amount of time you spend in a level. The best method is to do this while grinding the ARCADE Enthusiast achievement using the Upside Down map. Just start the level, and idle it for about an hour or two (play and charge required), then come back and finish the level to receive enough XP to go from level 1 to 20 in one go. XP isn't granted for skill or kills, strictly time spent on a level.

Yeah, the idling doesn't seem to work anymore. I just idled this overnight and only went up a level and a half

I'm also only going up a level / level and a half after just over an hour.

Idling still works. Doing it right now on the same map that Maka mentioned. I did it for a half hour and went from level 1 to almost level 4. going to try it for longer and see if it helps. Might not be the fastest way but it will be better than having to play the same level over and over again.

In 15-20 minutes I went from 4-6 almost 7 so that might be a limited or a cap on how long. I will do this next run for an hour and make another comment with what I find out.

so after 1 hour I went from about 6.5 to just over level 8. So I believe that there is a cap on the idle timing of about 15 minutes. Not sure if having the dashboard screens pop up affects it or not. If someone could test spinning or walking around that would tell us. From my research though, just idle for 15 minutes and you'll go up 2 or 3 levels each time. Hope this clears that up.

Resetting is still an issue for anyone wondering. Best to do in one sitting still

REDWINGS05 - XP per level increases, that’s why it was slowing down for you.

If you want this achievement fast you should play Arcade Heroes because it gives double XP. I went from 2-8 in one match.

Do you know how Arcade Hero awards XP? Is it from playtime , completing or killing things? To me it seems to be solely time based, but not sure. Hide in corner for a long time and suicide seems to level up a lot.

^^ 100% accurate.

My first level was one similar to The Mile High Club, I finished it quickly and got a bit of xp. Replayed it, left it idling for 20 minutes, finished it and got 6 levels lmao.

Did it again for 15 minutes, went from 17-20, achievement unlocked. This is why the comments are sometimes better than the solution itself.

I don't know if that's still the case?
I just let upside down idle for 1.5 hours and I only went from level 7 to level 8

Temporarily removed it the advice about idling on a level. Completed this a week or so ago and not played Xbox since, so I'm not sure if this has been patched. Was relevant advice from Maka when he did it as other people confirmed it worked to me off TA.

I'm now going for those pesky multiplayer achievements😩 Ubisoft never learns. Far Cry is a solo game and doesn't need a multiplayer. It's just annoying.
Anyway, I was just doing some maps and realised that the XP are solely awarded by the time spent in a map. It doesn't matter what you do, if or how many enemies you kill or if you "win" or die. Realising that, I just left the game run while doing something else and every now and then I killed myself at a torch (because I was randomly in a level with torches^^). Then I just got a big chunk of XP and simply reloaded the level and did the same again.

Quite a simple one to get, doesn't take too long to do.
I found the quickest ways to level up were by doing the Arcade Hero solo missions. You earn bonus XP on each one and it seemed to rattle up pretty quickly.

There does seem to be a glitch affecting some people, where their progress isn't saving and they reset to level 1. It didn't for me, but if you're concerned then set aside a bit of time to do this in one sitting.

I would also add you get more XP the more enemies on the map it seems. Or at least you get more XP from doing assault than journey.

I lucked upon a tiny Journey map called “Cool.” It’s mostly empty but for 8ish enemies at a circular building. Kill them all and wait an extra minute or two before exiting. The longer you wait, the more XP you get. I replayed this for a quick grind.

Once you have the other achievements you should do this at it gives double XP. Some of the maps are really bad, so just quit out if you get one.

After every Arcade match, you will earn a good amount of XP. Typically, after a game of Deathmatch or Team Deatchmatch, you will earn half of a level and winning will net you slightly more. Playing on a custom map may give a 20% XP bonus if you remain undetected or clear the Outpost without raising any alarms; however, Deathmatch and Team Deathmatch is the quickest way to get this achievement done.

This trophy is earned in Arcade Mode and will unlock naturally whilst going for all other trophies, you can play Arcade Hero which awards double XP if you want. Depending on your skill level it should only take 1-2 hours to reach level 20.
It's beneficial in the main game to complete Arcade trophies first, since all cash and perk points earned carry over to the main game, at Level 31 I had an extra 11 points and around $8,000 to carry over.

You can get level 20 by completing the "ARCADE Lover" trophy.

There is a glitchy arcade poster that allows you to play arcade games on created maps without an active "PS+" status.
Located in the northern part of the Faith Region, on the map, when removed, the green roof of the largest house in the Faith Region is visible. The moving point is called the taxidermist's workshop. There is also a quest with a puma (called "Kiss-kiss").
The poster hangs inside this house with a green roof, after entering the central door on the wall to the right. Allows you to play arcade on created maps alone.
I got this trophy there myself.

Got offline without a PS+ subscription by playing on Posters Arcade , and not just in Arcade (for example: Reservoir Construction Site (John region), Grandview Hotel (James region), etc.)
