How to unlock the DLC: Mars: Martian Journal achievement in Far Cry 5 - Definitive Guide

There is a total of 28 Larry's Notes in this dlc. There are no markers on the map or an overview for the collectibles so is the best advice for you to collect all 28 in one go. You have to find all notes before you finish the story otherwise you have to start a complete new run. If you are close to a note the game shows you an orange icon so you can easy spot this note.

Is there any warning that you've reached the point of no return?
If not then what is the name of the last mission so people know that completing it will mean they've missed out.

Small note - if you pick one up and then die very shortly after it wont count it!! I went through all of them, got stuck on 92% and had to go through all of them again! Thanks for the guide was fantastic!!

I think this has happened to me, I’ve been keeping an eye on the tracker after each one and I know one didn’t register. Once I saw your comment I remembered I died almost instantly after collecting it.

I’m only a quarter of the way through the collectibles, I’m guessing it is best for me to just finish the game and then start a new game for a quick run through the collectibles?

I just went through this and I'm on 89% theres no way I missed 3 of them, I clicked on them even if I had already collected them

Just collected the whole lot again and now I'm on 96%, one of the orange markers came up I collected it, the 96% didnt move tho, who knows if this might pop later on, screw this dlc, the guide however is perfectly fine :)

Do this before finishing the queens off. The gun you get from collecting these is nuts.

2 of the notes are not being recognized as collectibles. I picked them up, but didn't get progress or an in-game notification....

Yep, had to re-collect all of them in a new game to make it pop.

Something of note is that you have to read the journal and live. If, like me, you read the note by the pair of queens and died immediately after, getting sent back to checkpoint, it didn't count. Go back and kill them and THEN read it.

Also If like me I was stuck at 96% but I had 28/28 after collecting what should have been my last one. Open dashboard up, press start on game, manage game, delete save from Console only of course, and then re boot up game. Collect that collectible again and hope it pops like it did for me.

Anyone else having the achievement tracker to stay stuck on 96% after collecting all 28 of the notes?

Edit: i guess you simply have to redo the run on getting all of them when this happens. I tried several other things (doing a Clutch Nixon race, resetting the Xbox etc.) but nothing happend. Got it now and i'm happily i can close this DLC :)

There are 28 Notes Larry left for you to collect around the map.

**Beating the DLC is a point of no return, so collect all 28 before you finish the last mission!**

- This video shows all the locations of his notes going clock-wise around the map starting near the NW of the map, the Timestamps also include which landmark they are closest to.

- If the collectible is not around the immediate area there will be brackets indication which direction to go from the mark ex. (N) = North of the Fast Travel landmark

The video guide above me is amazing and I used it to get most of my notes, but I thought I should clear some things ups:

If you do the last mission before collecting them you have to restart a new game and all progress will be lost. The progress bar in achievements will stay the same until you exceed the amount you had.

You do not require any more energy cores than the first few required missions give you. This helps if you are silly like me and do the last mission without collecting them

If you died shortly after collecting a note it does not count, I died directly after picking up a note and it or the one before did not count. If you died go back and double check you have them.

even the powerglove takedowns doesnt count when you die! those dlcs suck.

well, seems like I'm going to have to do a second run. Two of the notes have glitched for me and are not being counted. They don't even show the orange symbol when you approach them.

This achievement is missable and must be completed before starting "Save the World."

There are a total of 28 notes that you must collect in order to unlock this achievement. Unfortunately, these collectibles are not on the world map. The only indication you have is a small orange icon on your HUD when you are within 10-15 feet of a note.

Please refer below to the video guide, courtesy of 360GameTV, as an aid in tracking down all 28 of Larry's notes.

Missable!

There are 28 of Larry's Notes to be found on Mars. They aren't marked on the map but you will see an orange marker on the document when you are close by, though they are usually found in structures rather instead of out in the open. It's best to save this until after you have activated all Antennas, because they act as fast travel points. Also buy the Space Wings (wingsuit) so you can get around the map more quickly.
