How to unlock the Expert Wenja achievement in Far Cry Primal - Definitive Guide

Don't be alarmed if your XP bar disappears!

It's perfectly normal - it means you have all the XP you can get. To finish it off, you do need to complete all the Help Wenja and Tribal Clash quests that reward a Skill Point. You can see which ones these are by hovering over them on the minimap. You will stop gaining XP once you only have these remaining so do not worry - your game is not bugged. You do not need to complete all of these orange quests - only the ones that reward a skill point.

To farm XP, you'll need to capture all the outposts/forts and complete every main quest, including the ones that aren't required for achievements. Once you've done that, you can reset all the forts/outposts by pressing cn_start and going to Options then Gameplay.

You can increase the amount of XP you gain in two ways. First, you can go to the tribal altars. There are 12 and they show up on the minimap as blue totem collectibles. They give you a 2% multiplier for each one you find. Alternatively, every 10 villagers you gain in your village give you an additional 2% XP to your multiplier up to 300 villagers.

I needed to run through most of the outposts again without being detected (13/15). If you were stealthy the first time, this number would be less.

The game can glitch and leave you short a few skill points. If this occurs, you'll have to wait for a patch. Devs said they were working on it.

yup! that means you're good on XP and can't earn anymore. That's ok. Just do the quests I mention in the first paragraph.

My xp didn't drop off until I was 3 skill points away from achievement. Ironically enough I only had 3 missions awarding skill points left over. I gathered around 75% of the collectibles throughout the game for xp rewards, so I'm not sure if that made much of a drastic difference. However I didn't need to reset my outposts at all.

The grayed out XP isn't normal. Ubisoft, on their forums, has already said they are working to fix this problem of the grayed out XP bar ending early. It is supposed to gray out after the last skill point.

Really Dislodged Puma? I hope so because I did not know I would run out of skills and I have one skill left to get and have done most of the orange quest. :(

I have competed the game, cap's all out posts etc. Do I need to complete all the skill point tasks and then I can reset the outposts?

Either order. Might as well do the skill point tasks first though.

I have done skill points normally (collectibles, missions etc) when the xp bar is gone I start to do orange quest with a skill point reward. I missed 10 skill points but when I finish the Beast Hunter Mastery quests new orange quests become available in these areas (sabretooth, bear, mammoth, wolf) so I could learn all skill even before finishing the main quests.

I got the cheev... so yeah, it looks like getting max XP and then doing all the orange quests that offer skill points is EXACTLY enough to get the cheev! You don't need to reset the forts/outposts.

Eurydace - did you have exactly 11 quests left, or did you have say 14 quests to choose from which offereda skill point??

I only played for 40 mins last night but have about 20 skill points left and 16 skill point quests NOT including the village missions being complete ( i heard theres a skill quest once you've done enough of these.) I'm not yet capped out, so if I can level up 4 more times I know I'm safe.

I was one skill point short, with only five orange missions left, but none of them was a mission which rewards a skill point. So, I was quite sure to be in the buggy situation described by some people.
I restarted the game and a new mission appears on my map (without doing anything else!), and it is a mission which rewards a skill point.
It's probably not the solution for everyone, but it's worth the try : simply close and restart the game.

I was 1 skill point short with no skill point missions left. I started doing village missions and after 3-4, one randomly appeared with a skill point reward. It wasn't even a village mission -- I have a few of those left. Just decided to pop separately.

It's a weird achievement because all the other ones can easily be picked up over the course of the game but this one takes a whole bunch of tedious grinding on top of it. Still a pretty easy and quick 100%.

It's pointless for the xp bar to go away when you have several skills left to earn because in order to earn skill points you have get xp first so you are still getting xp just 1 point worth of xp instead of xp little by little when the xp bar goes away. the xp bar going away is also a glitch it caused people to stop getting skill points unless ubisoft fixed it.

Just a heads up, if you run out of missions to get your last few skill points, save & quit your game, then click continue to load it up again. This usually brings up any missions that might have disappeared. It worked for me anyway (as it did for Assassin Corvo a few comments up) and my last 3 missions showed up.

I was also missing one skill point - still had a few village missions and some of the missions given by the 'named' characters and maybe 10 of the orange missions that don't award skill points. Completed all remaining mission threads except for the Ull and Izila Homelands (still skipping the non-skill point orange ones) and still nothing. Changed to night, and nothing. Saved and quit, still at night, and relaunched the game - and lo and behold, there it was. Last one popped up as soon as I checked the map - for me it was an escort mission located just northwest of the Blajiman Stones (center bottom of the map).

I got it. I can confirm that after capping out XP you SHOULD have the EXACT amount of skill point reward missions left. You also shouldn't need to do ANY village missions (anyone stuck on 12/13 missions, village missions are the last one)

Devs are working on a solution. Also, try switch to night, there may be some that are night specific (I think there might have been a help wenja quest where this is the case but I think I did it before I was seriously considering this achievement. This MIGHT not be correct. )

Finally, go through the map methodically. I had 16 quests and 16 skill points left to get; it took me a while just to count them all and make sure I wasn't recounting the same ones. It's worth doing this BEFORE you try it (i.e. if you need 8 points, make sure there are the 8 skill point quests left.)

Good game, but stupid game design. Should cap out once you've done all the skills.

@Assassin Corvo - THANKS A TON MAN, I was missing one skill point with my XP bar gone and no more 1 skill point missions to take on. I thought I was glitched. I just did a couple of village missions, saved and restarted the game, and boom, there was one new 1 skill point mission waiting for me on the map. Thank God.

Hopefully this solution will clarify the above now the game has been out a few months.

Objective: Expert Wenja requires you to learn all skills.

This is done predominantly through the means of XP. However, after a long while your XP will eventually cap out, meaning you can not earn any more skill points through XP Level Up's.

Fear not; after you have capped out your XP, there should be the EXACT amount of help wenja / tribal clash quests available to give you enough skill points to unlock all skills. If there is not then there is a good chance you haven't completed all the village quests. Also check your map to make sure there aren't any major quests left, even after the final boss fight with
. Also, although I am not sure, I think some are night specific.

To summarise, to get this achievement and the necessary skill points you will need to cap out your XP AND complete ALL skill point quests. Then spend them on the skills, you can't double purchase or anything stupid like that, so don't worry. Hope this helps

P People are really struggling with this to the point where rumours of a glitch have arisen. Although I can not confirm the legitimacy of this, I think more often than not people are not understand the XP cap and/or do, but can't find all the help wenja quests. it is my opinion that if there is a glitch, it effects very few, but please don't take this as anything rather than my opinion.

I've found short video helping to get few missing skill points.
Video isn't mine, all credit goes to Luke Barnett for posting this:

If you are missing a few skill points once you have completed the game "Expert Wenja".
You may of missed he village quest that are orange that you receive at the start of the game.
You will notice that more side quests will unlock as you do these that will give you the last few skill points you need.

Please note that there is no "level glitch" which I have been hearing. This is a simple misunderstanding of the game which has a level cap. Once you reach the max level you will no longer be able to level up and get skills points this way.
Hope this helps.

The video doesn't work anymore but the tip about completing the village missions is what helped unlock the last tribal clash with a skill point reward. Thought I was going to be 1 short until I did a couple more of them. 👍

Okay so to get this achievement you need to get all the skill points, theres two ways of getting skill points.

First way is levelling up, there is a max level so to get that just keep farming outposts once you finish the game

The way to get the rest is through the Help wenja and tribal clash quests. not all of these are available straight away. There is a help wenja quest that appears after doing a certain amount of the village missions found at your village.

Once you have finished all the missions with a skill point as a reward and reached max level you will have enough skill points to have all the skills

Hope this helps those who are having trouble.

Edit: just a reminder that some mission for skill points are not there until you finish other certain mission such as the village secondary ones.

As the other achievement guides state, you need to unlock all the skills found under one of the tabs.
You need all the survival, gathering, beast master, hunting, fighting, crafting, udam, and izila skills

I lost track of how many skill points are actually needed, but farming the xp is the way I went. You do reach an xp limit though.

You can decide to reset all the forts and outposts, but this is not actually necessary. I unlocked this achievement with 79% of the game completed. Collecting things is perhaps one of the funnest ways to gain xp. If you gain your population and the spirit totems you will rocket. I only had 120/184 collectables and that seemed to get me enough xp to have enough skill points.

I had: 10/12 spirit totems, 10/22 cave paintings, 22/25 wenja bracelets, 20/25 izila masks and 58/100 daysha hands. Plus 235 population by the end of it.

Happy Hunting

This requires you to acquire all skills in the skill tree. In order to do this you will need to:

1. Unlock all of the basic village characters. Takkar (survival) and Sayla (gathering) are available from the start, and through the story missions you will unlock Tensay (beast master), Jayma (hunting), Karoosh (fighting) and Wogah (crafting).

2. Conquer the two forts. Each of these will add a new character to your village - Dah (Udam) and Roshani (Izila). You will then need to complete a mission for each of them and build them a hut before their skills are available to unlock.

3. Max out your experience (you will probably hit the inbuilt level cap before you have acquired all the skills) through the course of playing the game. Building up your village population helps with XP boosts as do finding spirit totems.

4. IMPORTANT: complete all the orange side missions that award you a skill point reward - this includes all "Rescue Captive", "Tribal Clash" and "Escort" missions I believe. You will need to complete all of these to have enough skill points to fill the tree (optional objectives not required). You do not need to complete all the other orange missions (e.g. beast hunts).

Some have reported needing to complete village missions in order to unlock all of the additional orange side missions.

tl;dr version: You need to max out your XP and hit the level cap, as well as complete all orange side missions carrying a skill point reward, then buy all skills.

Is there any possible way to screw this up? I need one more skill point, i've maxed out xp, done all the +1 skill point side quests I have and did about 6 of the village missions. Any help would be great. This is my last trophy I need for the platinum.

I have seen some reports of people falling 1 point short but typically that was just due to missing a +1 skill point side quest (some said using the map filter helped them find it).

I still had to get 12 Skill Points when I hit the XP Cap. I did all the available Orange Side Quests that gave Skill Points, some more appearing as I progressed the story missions, with two Skill Points still needed with pretty much all done except the two main final "boss missions" and no more skill point quests showing on the map. So I decided to camp out after some exploring for collectibles and slept / rested overnight (as Takkar, in-game) ... and when I (ie Takkar) awoke a new Skill Point Quest was showing on the map. All the XP related ones were still there.

Coincidence or perhaps new / refreshed quests appear after sleeping ... let 's face it how how often does your Takkar sleep in the game, mine hardly ever.

So if you run out of skill point quests try having a rest at a camp. Nothing to lose and less drastic than resetting enemy strongholds when all else fails.

1) I finished "ALL" the missions that give you 1 skill point.
2) Farmed XP by cleaning enemy bases.(Using reset option)
3) Tired of bases, finding collectibles.

So, after the XP bar disappears... thinking that I was bugged coz i need it 1 point more to reedem the last skill...

I completed a couple of village misions, and then looking at the map, a new mision with a skill point appeared.

That's all folks!

The most important! Be sure to complete additional tasks in your village to unlock the rescue mission, where you will receive 1 skill point, without it you will not receive the trophy. I suffered for a long time and could not understand what was the matter.

Regarding getting everything else. Try to play in stealth mode, you will get more points. Collect items even after receiving the trophy for collecting 80 pieces, they give a lot of points. Complete all additional missions for which you get 1 skill point, without these missions you will not receive the trophy.

As soon as you see that you need to accumulate 5000 experience for one skill, start completing additional tasks with a reward of one skill. All the same, while you knock them out, you’ll also gain a lot of experience for killing enemies and other little things, saving yourself an extra hour or two. For example, for me, the maximum experience was already achieved when there were only three skills left to complete.

I strongly recommend postponing the add-on. tasks for which they give 1 skill point at the very end. The fact is that with receiving a certain number of skill points, the experience required for 1 skill point will increase from 1000 to 5000. That is why it makes sense to get 1 point when 4000-5000 experience is needed.

If someone does not have enough experience, and the missions are all over, you can simply reset all outposts in the game settings and go through them again, thereby you will quickly gain the missing experience in the game.

I learned all the skills after completing almost all the side quests and note, try to capture outposts stealthily as much as possible; stealth gives you a bonus 1000 XP.

While going through the story, complete additional tasks that give you a skill point. After you complete the story and when you run out of additional tasks that give you a skill point, take on (Village Tasks). And then gradually more tasks will appear for which they give you a skill point. Thus, quickly learn all the skills, tested personally.
PS And there is no point in dropping outposts. Over time in the game, when you only have to get 2-4 skill points, they will stop giving experience at all, and as I understand it, this is not a bug at all, it was intended. And there will be no point in liberating the outposts again; you will not get anything for them, you will only waste time.

UNDER NO EVENT do the side effects that give +1 to skills first! Be sure to leave them for later, when an improvement point will require 4000-5000 XP! It is very important! If you do them first, then most likely there won’t be enough points to level up all your skills, even if you complete all the side effects and beat the game!

At the end of the game (after completing the last mission of the company), you can reset all captured outposts in the pause menu in the settings, and they need to be captured again, in a silent capture they give 1500xp + 50% of saved residents + 1000-1500 for silently killing heavy and ordinary enemies

AND THIS IS A COMPLETELY FALSE STATEMENT . For reaching each new level you are given a skill point, and these points are also given when completing certain tasks. Their number is ultimately a constant, i.e. you will have just enough of them to eventually get all the skills - there will be no free or spare ones left.
What the author talked about will only affect the speed of achieving maximum experience. For example, I reached this limit when I had not yet invested about 16 points in skills, I had to run around and complete all the tasks in a hurry.

Shortly before the end of the game, a message appeared: “You have reached maximum experience.” After this, you will not receive skill points for experience. I completed ALL the orange additional tasks that give a skill point. In order to learn all the skills, exactly 1 point was not enough.
I read on the forums - many people have this problem, they advise waiting for a patch or replaying it again. I play on Xbox one.

PS I replayed and got the achievement. There is a possibility that the previous time I simply did not fulfill the requirement of the rescue task - to save at least two prisoners (apparently I saved only one in the cave, there was confusion there), so the skill point was not given. Be careful when doing this so you don't waste another 20 hours!
And further. When experience is locked, the following is written: "You have received maximum experience. To learn all skills, you must complete ALL additional tasks. Some tasks are hidden, complete others to open them." I haven’t checked, but most likely if there is a lack of points, a task with an additional skill point will randomly appear on the map (provided that ALL tasks have been completed).
