How to unlock the Gotcha achievement in Far Cry Primal - Definitive Guide

This is a very simple achievement; once you get the trap from Wogah, just lay it down when you see melee'ing enemies. The enemies will run straight for you and get caught.

Be careful though, you can trip your own trap... Believe me, you feel like an idiot after doing it...

EDIT: Apparently you no longer trigger traps when you walk over them! Yay!

I believe all of the "enemies" achievements do but I have no idea. I just did it for every enemy until the achievement unlocked haha

For everyone wondering how to even bring your traps up on your weapon wheel once you unlock them, go to your Bait with LB and then press left or right on the D-Pad.

Triggering the trap yourself may have been updated as i've not triggered 1 yet and ive been walking over them to check.

Yeah, you don't trigger them by walking over them, but if you don't put it down fast enough, the enemy will trigger it and get you too.

As a side note, it does work on both human and animal enemies. Just in case someone was wondering smile

How I did it was I'd take the Sabertooth to where Dholes & Wolves are so they wouldn't attack me, lay down the traps and stand where the traps were between me and the animals, release/ dismiss my Sabertooth, then the animals would try to attack me but they get killed by the traps instead, lol

Obviously, you will need to unlock the traps for use by helping Wogah, but once you've got them, this achievement is fairly easy.

You actually don't even need a melee enemy. Just run up and stand right next to any enemy and lay it at your feet. If you set it off, you get knocked down, but it kills the enemy. I got the achievement after doing this to three enemies in a row, so it definitely works and counts. Much easier than worrying about your beast killing the melee attacker before he hits your trap or trying to lure enemies into them.

Also, I'd recommend Easy difficulty when attempting this... ;)

For this achievement you have eliminate 10 enemies using hunting traps. I personally did this on predators rather than humans. All you have to do is craft the trap which you get from building Wogah's Hut.

Place the trap on the floor and wait for either a predator or an enemy to go over it. Note animals with lots of health like the Sabretooth Tiger will take 2 hits from the trap so keep that in mind. Animals like the cave lion and wolf only take 1 hit.

Hope this helped.

Great solution! This is way easier and faster than killing humans.

If like me you have gone through most of the game without doing this, you can use traps when you take encampments etc... or 'boss' battles. Just set it, hide behind a rock or something and lure them to you.

By far the easiest place to get this in one go is the Twarsha Cave Outpost which is located in the middle of the northern portion of the map in the snow area.

The cave entrance allows you space to place down 6-10 traps.

I laid mine out and went in the cave and let them call for backup and the backup ran immediately into my traps and the cheevo popped.

This outpost in general is really good for farming kills.

This is pretty easy to do all you need is to unlock the skill line from the craft specialist. Once you’ve made some traps go find any hostile enemy animal and have them run at you while you’re walking backwards placing the trap and they will die if they are lower level animals. Simply do this ten times and the trophy is yours.

These are not the traps that are indicated on the map during the “Great Hunt” for Tusk, Fang, etc., but traps from the weapon selector; after manufacturing, they can be selected instead of bait.

He simply ran up to the enemies and, not paying attention to their attacks, set traps at their feet. They really damaged me, too, but not fatally. (This will come in handy if you suddenly completed everything but forgot about the traps)

The best place to get this trophy is the cave with the Krati mask. There are many paths and paths on which you can set a trap. 10 minutes and you're done.

It is best to place it in any narrow passage (long entrances/exits from caves with enemies, narrow passages between rocks, etc.). I had a small group of goats or deer run through such a passage between the rocks - the traps worked - and several animals were counted as missing enemies. The trophy dropped precisely after triggering the traps on this mini-herd)))

The easiest way is to place traps near the vines along which enemies rise/descend, or in places where you jump onto rocks using (X)

The easiest way to get it is in Vinge Events when you need to fight off a couple of waves of the enemy.

When you go to Ulla, use it there. The enemies are endless while you are beating Ulla, so feel free to place and run back, you can place in the central zone. You'll knock the trophy out with a swoop.

This is what I got: attack on the outpost. You sneak up and set all the traps at the entrance. You craft again and place it again. You run back, make a noise with your bow and everyone runs towards you. You stand and watch) One outpost and a trophy in the piggy bank

The easiest way is to attract a crowd of enemies, then pick up a trap, and moving back, press the button to set them. Now the enemy running towards you will fall into a trap.
