go up to another plot of land and go to the purchase menu there should be an option to help out the farmer who owns that land

How do you go to the purchase menu? I went up to several field markers and nothing happens.

Skridger might have figured this out by now but exit the vehicle and you should get the tool tip and be able to press the L-thumb stick to bring up the field interface.

What an absolute crappy guide. Nothing is accomplished.
How do you get the purchase menu?
Should you be in or out of a vehicle?
Which vehicle?
Daytime or nighttime?
How do you help the farmer?
Give them money?
Or is there more to it?
Do we use a tractor?
Attachments?
Then which tractor and which attachment do we use?
How do we attach the attachment?
How much do the items cost?
Is there a tractor already available with necessary attachments, already at each field?

Tons of unanswered questions that could make this a real guide.

This guide from MDN Gaming worked well for me:

You'll unlock this as you work on "Farmers Favorite". Once you complete the mission you'll get a summary of your payout and the achievement should unlock.
