Once you get 20 herbal medicines (I had enough by drop 3), spam 20 of them then restart checkpoint to get them back. You can use them at full health. You should be able to find plenty more than 20 on your normal difficulty playthrough, they’re scattered around everywhere especially in drop 2 in the forest.
