How to unlock the Points Champion achievement in Feeding Frenzy - Definitive Guide

On Level 21 (deep seas?) if you eat fish until you are at the biggest fish in the level (the 3rd upgrade) and than get your frenzy meter up and just bite the whales tail, which are constantly going thru the level, again and again the score continues to multiply each time you bite it, for instance if you have the double frenzy meter (red frenzy) the first bite is worth 300 points the second bite is 600 points and so on (as long as you keep the whale on the screen, its not to hard since he turns around everytime you bite the tail) it took me about ten or so tries at this level before i actually got it down but after that i could easily get 500,000 points in one life!!! and of course for every 12,000 points you earn you get a extra life, so in the end I usually end up with around 50 lives or so... very quick and easy way to get points and lives.

This is by far the best method.

Since I already completed the game, I have the oppurtunity to choose a level. I went into this level with zero points and got the achievement after I've hit 300,000 and finished the level.

Thanks!

Thanks a lot! This is the best method I got like 510,000 with like 20+ lives left and a few continues before I decided to just move on the the next level from boredom... This method also saves time. You'll get the hang of it in like 15ish minutes and then it takes another 15ish minutes to get to 300,000 for the achievement

I'm a bit confused by this method, everytime I get big enough and start biting his tail I also eat other fish and the level ends!!

Ya you don't want to eat the other fish. The Goal is to bite his tail and then dodge slightly up or down so when turn to bite you he misses and then you are in perfect position to bite his tail a second time.

The level ends long before I get anywhere near the required score.

Frankly I find it easier to just play all the levels and use that trick when applicable. Hit 300,000 by Stage 34. Theres a ton of opportunities to bite tails

If you want to bust it out specifically this is the best method. If you are going for the completion anyway, you'll get good enough at the game to achieve 300K pretty naturally in a regular playthrough so don't pressure yourself into thinking you have to ace this specific mechanic

Another frustrating way to get an achievement.. I made it to 260k than accidently hit one of them Power ups that eat everything an beat the lvl.. definitely abit of effort doing it this way, but all in all better than playing all 40 lvls over again an trying that way.

Deep Water Dreams, as everyone else is saying, then get to the third growth stage (it seemed easier to me, because then you have only the whales and sharks to worry about), then bite the whale's tail. There's a sweet spot in the middle of its body near the spot that it pivots when it's turning around that allows it to spin and not eat you; once you find that, just tap the stick slightly when you need to bite the tail (occasionally you'll be in the right spot and it will go back and forth and you may not need to move). Then, when you're close to filling your meter, let a whale or shark eat you.

I know there are 4 other posts mentioning the same level and this game is a little old now, but no one else mentioned the sweet spot when the whale is turning, so I thought it might be a little helpful for someone out there.

Off the main menu you can choose either time attack or adventure. I unlocked mine in time attack, but either will work fine. Grab points. Some tips.
1) Grab multiplier bubbles whenever you can, especially in bonus levels.
2) Eat schools of fish, they are worth a substantial amount extra.
3) Bite the shark's tails, it's usually a breeze and worth an extremely large amount of points.
4) If you get to the last level, and you, like most people, have about 15 lives, get points, die, get more points, die, get more points, die, repeat, until you have over 300,000 points. I had 280,000 going into the last level and cleared it with ease using this method.
5) Eat those starfish bubbles. This will also work you towards the eat 1000 starfish bubbles achievement if you don't have that yet.

And one last thing. If you do die and run out of continues and need to play through the game again to try to get your 300,000 points, start from the beginning. Yes, it's a daunting task, 40 levels of the game, but doing it from any other point will be stretching your luck. You can look at it optimistically as working towards the "Food Bank" achievement(s) listed below. If it does take you a playthrough after you've beaten adventure and time attack, I recommend "Adventure" since the fish eaten there will count towards your food bank. Might as well be efficient.

Might be worth mentioning that if you get to the largest growth level on the last level, there's nothing that can kill you (even the oysters couldn't do the job anymore) so do your points/die loop before you get to that stage.

Yeah I got to the last level and died a few times but when I got to the 3rd level the oysters would eat me a few times but eventually stopped. So best if you need to farm either do it on the next to last level, or don't go stage 3 on the last level. I was 3k away when they stopped eating me ugh.

Start at the beginning and play through the whole game. Try to keep your frenzy meter full and eat every x2 bubble you see. A quick way to get points is to bite the tails of the ! fish (the biggest ones that you can't eat with the fish you are using).

A great way to get this achv is to start from the beginning and not rush through the lvls. Aside from the obvious (eating multiplier bubbles, frenzy meter etc...) The key is to eat as many star fish as possible as they don't contribute to your growth and there is an endless amount in the majority of the lvls. By using this strategy, I was able to reach 300k+ by lvl 28.

This solution also allows you to work on multiple achvs. By taking your time in each lvl you are actually working towards
Feeding Frenzy10 HoursThe 10 Hours achievement in Feeding Frenzy worth 33 pointsAwarded for playing the game a total of 10 hours.

by eating as many star fish as possible you are working towards
Feeding FrenzyStarfish bubblesThe Starfish bubbles achievement in Feeding Frenzy worth 30 pointsAwarded for collection of 1000 Starfish Bubbles.

as well as
Feeding FrenzyFrenzy FanaticThe Frenzy Fanatic achievement in Feeding Frenzy worth 43 pointsAwarded for earning highest rank "Frenzy Fanatic" in game.

Feeding FrenzyFood bankThe Food bank achievement in Feeding Frenzy worth 71 pointsAwarded for accumulating 40,000 points in the food bank.

So, in closing, taking your time in each lvl is actually more beneficial than just blasting through the game.

Hope this helps.

This can be combined with all of the other story related achievements and gotten on the first play through easily.

From the start remember to grab as many starfish bubbles as you can. (these do not contribute to growth so they are basically free points)

When there are oysters at the bottom of the screen grab the goodies inside. (unless you were close enough to watch it open, then you probably don't have enough time to grab the goods before it closes and kills you. i.e....unnecessary

Finally: the best advice I can give, which I rarely see mentioned is to always go for the smallest fish possible, and always try to get the bonus for consuming the entire "school". Starting with the Leon the lion fish levels you have the ability to suck fish towards you with the blue button. Use this ability to suck in entire schools of fish which will give you large bonus points and keep your frenzy meter full.

You can always bite the tails of the giant fish..(barracuda on some early levels and killer whales on later levels) you can rack up huge points and extra lives as long as you can keep them on the screen. However, unless you have all the other achievements already and are just trying to get this one, I find it to be unnecessary. As long as you remember to consume as many "schools" of fish as possible during your first play through, you should pop this achievement well before you reach the last level.
