How to unlock the Manual labour achievement in FIFA 09 - Definitive Guide

Easiest way to is to get another controller and start up a game. Turn off all the assists (including the auto switching, so move the bar all the way down). Just leave the other controller and get a goal.

Unless you're really good, you'll find that the assists helped you A LOT. Especially when shooting and crossing etc. For an easy goal, just get the other controller and backpass back to the goalie. Stand just in front of the goal-line and then tackle him and knock the ball into the net. Easy goal.

Win = achievement. Done.

where do you turn the assists off? i cant find how to do it :(

This is verry doable when playing for "The Purist" achivement. If you are playing on the australian league, when facing a half star team, disable all the assists and try to win. Make sure you are on the lowest difficult level, it's kind of trick to play without assistences.

To find the manual settings and go to the main menu then ‘My FIFA 09’ and from here, go into ‘Settings’ & finally ‘Wireless Controller Settings’.

You will see a list of settings that you have to change, here is what you have to change them to:

Auto Switching: Press left on the D-pad so the white bar goes down all the way
Pass Assistance: Manual
Through Pass Assistance: Manual
Shot Assistance: Manual
Cross Assistance: Manual
Lob Pass Assistance: Manual

When you have finished doing this make sure you save these settings so they don’t go back to normal when you leave here. Now go back to the main menu and set up an exhibition match. Now all you have to do is win the game.

TIP: This can be hard because the pass and shots can go nowhere near where you want them to so if you are having any problems, then just change the computers difficulty to amateur. This will allow you to just take it pass them with ease and you will be able to get closer to the goal to take a shot.

Ok, for this one, you just have to win with manual settings, if your not sure how to do this, then follow this:

Main Menu > My FIFA 09 > Settings > Xbox 360 Controller Settings

When you reach the 360 controller settings, change the following:
Auto Switching: All the way down (Move the bar as far left as it'll go)
Pass Assistance: Manual
Through Pass Assistance: Manual
Shot Assistance: Manual
Cross Assistance: Manual
Lob Pass Assistance: Manual

Once you've done all this, go to the main menu and start a normal kick off match. Just win the game and the achievement should pop up at the end.
