How to unlock the The Peterson achievement in FIFA 09 - Definitive Guide

This achievement will probobaly be the last you will get for this game and all you can really do is keep playing matches whilst going for other achievements. You can check your time by going into the "my fifa 09" section, and then the "my stats" section and checking your time in the bottom right, 50 hours works out at 3000 minutes.

@Kohaui
It's not. Would have never returned to this game of it Was only 0 gs. As it's one gs it leaves you with an odd gamerscore until you get it.

So I got exactly 3000 minutes & no achievement. I was upset for a minute (figuring it was normal EA glitchiness) when I re-read the achievement description (Play for over fifty hours"), realized that you actually need 3001 minutes completed, played one more match, & the achievement popped - and got my 1 gamerscore.

So, heads up, if you're at 3000 minutes and it hasn't popped.

You need to have played the game for 50 hours (3000 minutes).
No matter how long your game lasts due to stoppages, free kicks, corner kicks etc. (apart from extra time) you will always only get, for example, 8 minutes added to your time played for a 4min halves match or 40 minutes added to your time played for a 20min halves match.
If you leave a match before it is finished or if your opponent leaves early online the minutes do not count at all.
To check your total time played, go to My FIFA 09 > My Stats.
The time played for Online & Offline is always glitched at 100. You do not count this. Simply press "X" to toggle between the Xbox Live Matches time played and Offline Matches time played and add these two numbers together to get your total time played. You should be pretty near this achievement after gaining all the other achievements in the game.
Minutes from the Ultimate Team DLC do count towards this.
P.S. Make sure you do not delete your FIFA 09 "Personal Settings" save file or you will lose all of your minutes progress.

As a Liverpool fan, I choose Manchester United for the Player1 team, put them in their away strip, play them against Liverpool FC in their home strip. Leave the game unattended, resuming game at half-time, and after about 50-55 minutes the game should be complete and Man Utd will have lost about 12-0. Win win.

Be careful to have a quick look at the game to check that there hasn't been an injury and the game is paused until you make the substitution. Feel free to turn off the television while you're away from your Xbox too, saves you some pennies on the power bill (and the environment) :*)

This is how I did it.
What do you need?
- 2 Xbox controllers (with a play & charge kit)
- 1 Xbox360
- FIFA 09
- a television

How do I got the achievement?
- I had set the duration on 20 minutes for 1 half.
- Select 2 random teams.
- Kick off the match and wired the controllers so they keep on.
- I came back after 20 minutes and kicked off again.
- After the match was finished I choose for Classic extra Time (5 minutes each).
- I scored a goal in the second half so I keep my win ratio.

After all, I played 50 minutes each match.
You need a total of 3000 minutes.

The way you can calculated to know how many matches of 50 minutes (or other time) is like this:
Time you need - played time = time you need to play
Time you need to play : 50 minutes = the matches you need.

For example;
I have played 2500 minutes of the 3000 I need.
The duration of 1 match is 50 minutes.
the calculation; 3000 - 2500 = 500 minutes I just need. 500 needed minutes : 50 minutes = 10 matches to play.

aim for other achievements in the game as this will rack up time. A good achievement to go for first would be the purist as it will take a fair bit of match time to complete. Aim for the basic achievements aswell as in the score from a head, score a volley etc as they should take a lil bit of time to. Try out some secret achievements they tend to be a lil bit trickier so again they'll take up time too.

To eat up more i time i advise setting up an online club with mates and play on that regularly, faceing people online in ranked matches or just simply playing exhibition matches.

I agree with Atkinson and Barra93. But after I have unlocked most other achievements, I still have some 500+ minutes to go. So I now start 20min/halve games, playing with two (cabled) controllers. I pass the ball from kick off and check back 20 minutes later to click through half-time, kick off again and wait another 20 minutes. Voila, 40 minutes added to your total.
Extra time *does* count, so sometimes I get 41 minutes in these long games -although that really isn't much compared to the 3000 minutes... lol :)

I suggest playing on 12 minutes, playing a season for "The Purist" achievement in the Premier League and then going for the "Frequent Flyer." Then if you have still got time remaining, playing 20 minute halves with two controllers.

This is the most time consuming trophy in the whole game. As the description says you have to play for over 50 hour’s total. You rack up minutes by playing offline in manager mode/be a pro mode and normal exhibition matches etc. You also rack up minutes by playing against people online. I would suggest not to concentrate on this as you go through the game and leave it until the end. This is because you will get minutes when going for other trophies.

Eventually this will be one of the last trophies you need. So just go to ‘Kick-Off’ from the main menu and go to ‘Be A Pro Match’. Before you go into the match change the game settings to 20 minute halfs.

Because you are in be a pro mode you are only controlling one player, this means the computer will play by themselves whether you get involved or not. All you have to press X for is to begin the second half after the 1st half has finished.

This way is easiest but can be quite boring & eventually it will come.

Self explanatory, just play Fifa 09 for 50 hours. When doing this you must play and complete matches. Therefore you cannot just leave you xbox on overnight to boost the time played. The hardest yet lowest achievement, just keep playing, it'll come.

A quicker way of getting this is to set up a 4 Minute Half match using 2 controllers, let the game finish a draw, and then let extra time finish as a draw. The match will then proceed to a Penalty Shootout. From there on in, just leave the controllers alone. Because your controller will take too long to take the Penalty, the CPU will take it for you, and will always put it straight down the middle, and the Goalkeeper will always save it, meaning that the game will just keep doing that, you can also leave your xbox on overnight doing this as well.
