How to unlock the Fancy Some FUT? achievement in FIFA 14 - Definitive Guide

Super easy and one of the first achievements you will get in this game if you plan on playing FUT.

The description got me misleading "Follow a Fotball Club..." , so just in case you are misled like me, here is the short explanation.

On the Home screen there are tiles with different news regarding your favorite club etc. When there is a news that has something to do with FUT, just click on it, it will lead you to the FUT menu, and pop, achievement unlocked.

None of my friends play UT, resulting in no UT news. I'm never going to get this achievement. Is there any other way?

I have a triangel with a ! in my news :/ I can follow you Igneus. Need other news than TOTW players.

As I said, I'm sure that if you follow me, after I play a game in FUT it should show up in your news.
Also, I noticed that if you play FUT yourself, News regarding the transfers might show up.
Just try and cycle through the news with RS a couple of times, it should show up

I completed 1 match, exit out of Ultimate Team and tried again. It worked. :/

Ended up unlocking 'Thanks, Tips' as well.

The news and alerts tile on my home screen is constantly saying unable to access news and alerts. Has anybody else seen this?

Yeah, every time I play it tells me unable to access new news and alerts as well.

I have not started that game in some time now. But could it be that at the same time Live has problems with social and gaming when you go and check in the networks? Cause that might be the case. Also, is your NAT open? I heard some people having issues recieving news alerts if theirs is strict.

To be honest I'm not sure how its about to show up if your friends dont play it. Also I'm not 100% that you have to have someone play it.
The easiest way you can check it out, is if you follow me on the One, I'll play a FUT game and it should show somewhere in your news.

After that you can remove me easily.

I was having problems getting this one as there was never anything on my news and alerts tile just a message saying "unable to access news & alerts"

I discovered that this was because no one in my friends list was playing fifa 14.

I added some people who we're playing the game and the news and alerts tile started to fill up with new info. Pretty soon after I was able to get the achievement.

I hope this helps anyone that might be stuck

Ok firstly this trophy can be extremely glitchy some people get it straight away some people like myself have had a hell of a job and I mean a hell of a job.

It's unknown whether out not ps+ is needed or not i would say that it is required.

There are several menu's to choose from the one you want is called (home) in this should be (news and alerts) and it should be gold with news regarding the fut if it is gold and says take me to fut press x press it and you will get the trophy you can move the right analog stick left and right to move through the pages.

However a lot of people have been finding this page dulled out with a red triangle warning sign with a ! In it for a while it's been driving me crazy I've done lots of searching through forums and contacting ea (useless by the way. Then I thought hang on I have my old account on my ps4 that has a little ps+ left on it so I signed in loaded up the game and there it was gold page with take me to fut I pressed x and bamn trophy.

I thought well it's got to be ps+ so I went back to my new account put a month ps+ on it loaded up the game nope still the stupid triangle warning so I took action I made sure id got all the fut trophies and other trophies I thought I would lose progress towards and backed up my other games deleted fifa completely (BE WARNED IF YOU DONT WANT TO LOSE YOUR FUT TEAM TRY TO FIND A WAY TO bACK IT UP) I am not responsible for you losing teams or coins or anything else I reformatted my ps4 I know sounds extreme for a trophy but I didn't care.

Once reformatted I reinstalled my profile and reinstalled fifa with update loaded up the game main menu, home and bamn gold page fut plastered all over it pressed x and trophy popped whether I had a bug in the game or my profile or my save I have no idea but I'm passing on my findings to the tt world and I'm hoping it helps sorry it's so long but felt like I had to explain everything and as far as I know the recent winners will be showing me as 1 and 2.

Obviously this was my problem but I wanted to share in case it's the same problem that others are having too.

For any of you who had trouble with this or Thanks, Tips like I did (the achievements simply wouldn't unlock), try playing a drop in pro-clubs match and following the alert that is shown on the menu when the game is over.

I just stumbled upon this today and they both finally unlocked for me. Huge relief!

Under the Home Menu is a large tile on the top right called "Football Club News & Alerts". You can scroll through different pages in this tile with until you see a "Go to FUT Now!". Press . The achievement will unlock when you press this, from which you will be taken to the FIFA 14 Ultimate Team Menu.

You wont earn this by simply hitting the Ultimate team tile in the main menu.

You need to highlight the EA sports alerts tile and then cycle through them with the R-Stick. It will show you something along the lines of a pack promotion or a special card. Select this and it will net you the trophy

Am i the only one that cant get this to work? I know how to do it since i had it for the 360 but the option shows a caution or danger sign with the exclamation point inside a triangle. I click X and it doesnt work but if i scroll over with the right stick it shows an easc catalogue one and tells me to press X and that works. Its driving me crazy lol

Make sure to select a news alert and not just go straight select the ultimate team tile

Well good news ha. It finally worked. I logged back on and they had 2 more options and 1 of them was UT and this one allowed me to go to it and it popped. The 1st one is still listed in there and still wont work so idk. I guess u just gotta wait if it happens to anyone else.

It's glitched for me too. Also already done it on 360 version so I know what i'm doing but like packer backer it just has an exclamation point with no option of clicking it. Kind of a joke.

As of yet i'm yet to see more than one tile there so no option of clicking another.

Make sure your definitely signed into EA, and not just the psn. It was like this for me the other day when the servers were down.

Sorry for a late response. I don't sign in too often and it doesnt notify you by email like a private message. I sent you a message about it as you can see.
But for anyone else having the problem i'll sum it all up. Basically you just have to wait til the next totw and that new option should come up and allow you to press x finally.

And its glitched once again. I already got thankfully. I just got on and it has the same thing again as before with no option to press x to advance. If you cant get it just check it everyday until u can. EA needs to fix it but we all know that wont happen til Fifa 17

Ok so I don't have ps+ on my new account which is this one but I do on my old account when using my new account I had a faded out warning sign I tried my old account with ps+ this morning and bam all colours pressed x and I got this trophy and the other trophy as well.

Yah im doing it right. Ive done it on the 360 version but its glitched for me. It doesnt allow me to click X to enter it. Its under the top right tab at the main menu section. I even tried to enter it through all the other spots u can use to enter it but no trophy. The news alert just shows the explanation point inside of a triangle and it even says UT players of the week but it just doesnt allow me to enter using that. Im just wondering if anyone is getting this too. Ill be mad if this stops me from getting a platinum.

In the Menu, go to Football Club and select News & Alert. Highlight a message about UT and press  to enter FUT.

If you don’t have friends in the game, and since the game is already old, EA has stopped news on the Ultimate Team mode, then we do the following. For all this, we will need a second PSN account. Add friends to your main account. Next, we go into FIFA 14 with an additional account, go to the Ultimate Team mode, there we go through the 10th single season, since it is the fastest (you need to score 12 points in it, and this is only 4 victories), we get the cup and move on to the 9th division. Next, we exit the game, change the account to the main one, go into the game and look at the news, there we have an event that your friend won the 10th division and you are invited to play Ultimate Team, then click and get the coveted trophy. I hope it helps someone
