How to unlock the Hoop Dream achievement in FIFA 19 - Definitive Guide
So this is the epilogue to the journey, it takes a while to get the hang of.
Firstly in the main settings set the shooting to manual and difficulty to beginner.
Then you simply want to press LB and B for a lobbed shot. I found the best way to do this was to actually face downwards at the centre circle rather then straight at goal, like the video below
Obviously I got this by checking out the below video, the reason I'm making a separate solution is that after a long slog it was when trying from this area of the pitch that I came closest several times before eventually getting it to pop in.

Strangely enough, this popped for me for no reason while played the epilogue, I didn’t get the ball into the hoop.

For this achievement, you need to complete the Journey. After that there will be a 3v3 at Venice Beach.
To get the achievement you will need to chip the ball into the basketball hoop +
This will take a while as the other team will of course try to take the ball from you

How long does the journey take to complete?
By DAN NUFC on 27 Sep 2018 07:52
Its pretty long but if you want to complete the journey fast, get red cards or do your worst at the training, if your not in top condition, you wil be benched.

I just unlocked it, turns out, it doesn't need to go through, I managed to get it with it bouncing around the rim, but I'd reccomend the guide above
To unlock the Hoop Dream trophy in FIFA 19, you will need to first complete The Journey mode and make it to the epilogue.
In the game settings, set the shooting to manual and the difficulty to beginner, and then press + for a chipped shot. If will take some practice to get the ball through the hoop.
You can see the method below (credit to Gabriel Leão on YouTube):

By the end of the season, after Chapter 4, in the Epilogue, you are in Venice beach for a 3 vs 3 futsal game in a sports court. Alex Hunter, Danny Williams and Kim Hunter are playing, Thierry Henry, Alex Morgan and Rio Ferdinand. For this trophy, you will have to score on the basketball hoop.
This trophy is hard, but very doable if you know what to do. First, turn off your shot and pass assistance inside the controller settings menu and turn FIFA Coach on, so you can see where you are aiming the ball. Also, turn the difficulty down to Beginner. You can try to score the hoop in either hoop, not necessarily the opposing one. Your own hoop is easier, because when you set difficulty to Beginner, your opponents will only go for the ball if you run towards them. This gives you space and time to work on the trophy.
The most advisable way to do this is by heading the ball on your own hoop. There's a great video guide, made by NixGaming.

In order to do it, start getting yourself to the free throw line, aligning yourself with the hoop. Raise the ball by pressing and start juggling it by pressing . When you feel you are perfectly aligned with the hoop, press and hold towards the hoop to send the ball in that direction. Try pressing and holding it when the ball is high, so your player heads the ball to the hoop, instead of kick it.
You can also try this with a chip shot, by pressing + or + while trying to score the hoop. I don't advise trying this, as it is completely random and pretty hard to aim and get the right shot strength.
Just take your time, it will eventually come in. Additionally, you can do this with any of your players. You can retry this drill as many times as you want, so do not sweat if you can not get it with the 3 tries given by the game.
