How to unlock the A Champion Emerges achievement in FIGHT NIGHT CHAMPION - Definitive Guide
For the first 2 rounds you must simply survive.
- Blocking (RT) is your friend. Protect your head.
- Release RT and double tap left to quickly back step out of range.
- Use LB (push) to keep Frost at bay if you get shoved in a corner.
- If you get rocked hit LB RB immediately to clinch and hang on until your stamina bar goes from red to yellow.
In the next 3 rounds you have to land 75 hits to the body. Not too hard to do, LT with hooks and uppercuts will all count. Just protect yourself which is sometimes easier said than done. Remember you only need to land 25 punches per round so don't panic. Strike and back off.
- You have to defend a cut for the next 2 rounds. Use all the tricks mentioned above.
- Round 8 you will be able to take him down.
There's a checkpoint after each "event" you have to complete so if you get knocked out trying to land 75 body blows you'll re-start at the beginning of that. If you can't defend your cut for 2 rounds you re-start at the beginning of that.
Hope that's a help to anyone getting a little frustrated with him like I was.
Gotta love flash knock downs :D
Took me 5:31:12 to beat the game, I must say the story mode was not bad at all
Oh and as far as getting the achievement, RUN and counter.
If you ever get stunned and in danger of knockout, just do the same thing. Back away and let him swing at nothing. You can easily get out of the dazed state. The key is to ALWAYS be aware of your surroundings. It's pretty easy to control his movements and leave you plenty of space to run away to.
Second stage is easy. Just go in and do a 3-4 punch combo and back away. You should be able to get the 75 body punches in two rounds if you just go for it, knowing you've got the checkpoint system as a safety net. The pisser is getting your 75 body shots in two rounds and having ANOTHER round of having to just avoid him.
Then just repeat step one for the third stage of having to avoid being hit 8 times in the right side of your face. Two round of that and you're all set.
Now you can basically destroy him. I knocked him out within ten seconds. Stunned him and knocked him out when everything went slow-motion...and was kind of disappointed how easy the last step was compared to prior rounds.
I did this on Amateur because I wasn't very impressed with the story mode and wanted to burn through it, but from what I understand the difficulty doesn't matter much. Some claimed to have done the entire thing on amateur and kept losing, then changed to GOAT difficulty and insist it was EASIER. Not sure about that, don't really want to try, lol.
3 Important things to know:
1) THIS IS NO LONGER A BOXING GAME. I can't stress this enough. Boxing tactics have no place in this new rhythm/response game that makes up the last 20 minutes of champion mode. In fact, any real boxing match would've been stopped after two whole rounds of Bishop avoiding Frost much less an 8 round title fight where one of the competitors only landed 75 strikes, none of which came within two feet of his opponent's head.
2) Frost is a brick wall. There is no way to hurt him or slow him down. Any punches thrown before the 8th round (outside of the 75 body shots) should be seen as damaging to YOUR boxer.
3) The difficulty must be on either pro or champion(I actually had my first progress in this fight when I got pissed and turned it up to GOAT). Amatuer level Frost drops any attempt at defense and morphs into Super Saiyan Ivan Drago. With the difficulty turned up Frost will burn many precious seconds fainting or trying to slip punches(even if you don't throw them).
Your basic strategy should be to hold RT as much as possible while rhythmically tapping back on your left analog stick. This keeps Frost from getting into range. I also found that if I started pushing toward the center of the ring while still backing up as Bishop went past the first vertical tape on the ropes, Frost was much less likely to get me pinned in the corners. Spamming this strategy is the only thing that let's you consistently get through the literary set piece(not to be confused with gameplay) that Frost is in this game.
I've just finished this achievement, after trying a lot of time.
Well, to do this achievement you must NOT be knocked out during the 2 first round.
=> Just walk and 'escape' him. If he's to close, grab him.
Then, for the three next rounds, you have to puch him in the body with uppercut (easier) - 75 time :
=> Keep on walking and grab him if he's to close, then every minutes, so at 2' and 1' and at 0.10' of the count, go close to him and press LT + A or B a lot of time (10 or more..).
For this it's better if you can stay stand up.
Then, you have to escape him again in order to not be hurt at the eye (referee can stop the match).
=> continue walking on the ring and if he's to close press RT and if he try to make power shot, press RT + LT + your opposite way (so left if Isaac is at the right on the ring).
You can be hit 7 time per round.
Easy.
Then you can knocked him down easily at the 8th round.
Hope this helps.
Set your glows.. Fight !
When you finish rounds 2, 5 and 7 you get checkpoints, which makes it much easier. Even on Easy, Frost has incredibly strong punches. So no matter what the situation, try to stay away and standing up until the 8th round.
Rounds 1-2:
Stay up! You're going to need to be able to get up in later rounds. Frost's punches are incredibly powerful and he can knock you down in seconds.
Rounds 3-5:
You have to land 75 body shots in three rounds. You can either get them out of the way in round 3, or you can take your time, watch your health/stamina meters and spread the 75 punches throughout the 3 rounds. Stay low and back off when you need to. Stay low, clinch, move around, generally stay away from Frost. Either way, it's still imperative that you stay up.
Rounds 6-7:
A cut will form over your eye and you have to protect it. Keep covered and keep moving. Stay out of Frost's range as much as you can. Keep trying to stay up.
Round 8:
This is your time to take Frost out. Your cut has stopped bleeding, Frost is tired and you get a great speech from Gus. Go after Frost just like any other fighter. You should be able to knock him out in the 8th. The achievement will unlock when Frost hits the canvas.
Isaac Frost is a tough one but is easily beatable if you stay away from him (due to his one punch KO power) and listen to your corner. This is the last fight of Champion Mode and consists of 4 phases in the duration of the fight. The first phase involves you having to survive the 1st 2 rounds without punching him or anything. Back away anytime he gets close and once you’ve created distance, drop your guard and back the hell away since you move faster with your guard down. Once you’ve survived, the next 3 rounds involve landing 75 body hooks. Approach Frost, hit him with a left/right body combo and back off. Repeat and aim to hit 25 body hooks in each round. Once this section is completed, the 3rd phase has you suffering a cut which will need 2 rounds to heal. There’s a hit limit counter at the bottom of the screen so you can’t afford to be hit more than the limit count. Repeat what you did in phase 1 which was continuously back the hell away. Once your cut’s healed Frost will be ripe for the picking. Unload on him and try to hit big counters then KO him for the finish and the trophy.
It took me 2 days to complete the 2nd stage where he needs to deliver 75 blows to the body. I suggest this option. The key to victory is a quick attack followed by 4-6(9) strikes, and an equally quick retreat. It is better to hit with hooks on the right or left. Straight lines (jab), as far as I understand, are useless, do not count (unless, of course, the power modifier button is pressed).
Thus, all 75 blows can be delivered in 1-2 rounds, and then you can simply move away from him, moving around the ring.
In rounds 6 and 7, you just have to survive. Only 8 blows to the damaged eye are enough to defeat you. Run around the ring, cover your head, dodge, etc.
As for the actions from rounds 8-12, just attack as best you can, since Frost is exhausted!!!
