How to unlock the Squat Thrusting achievement in FIGHT NIGHT CHAMPION - Definitive Guide
By far the hardest trophy in the game and possibly one of the hardest ever. This trophy alone is as bad as the FNR4 Belt fiasco. The 2 trophies regarding level 15 and 30 should be very easy to obtain due to the fact you’ll be fighting easy contenders but then begins the tough road in Hell. The Boxer Level points system works like this – beat someone very high, you’ll get a huge amount of points. Lose to someone very high, you won’t lose many points. Beat someone very low, you’ll earn low points, Lose to someone lower than you and you’ll lose big points. You can either gun for the elites and hope to get lucky with a victory to bag big points or you can fight lowers ranked fighters to ensure victory but little points - it’s up to you.
Nearly everyone is a monster on OWC with the height and reach maxed so I suggest you do the same so you’re not at a disadvantage. There is no particular division which is easy to level up but Middleweight seems to be the favourite choice. Constant disconnections, one punch KO’s and a plethora of other external factors make this mode harder than it already is. The only real advice would be to use your skill and box very, very intelligently online. If you have your opponent hurt, absolutely finish him because this is a dog eat dog world. Pay attention to Teddy Atlas' scorecard because that serves as a excellent reminder as to whether you should stick to your game plan if you're winning or whether you should go for broke. There’s no sure-fire way of boosting OWC so you’ll have to do this the hard way.
You can find the Online World Championship menu in the Live main menu. The bottom line is you must win. That should be obvious, but points are deducted when you lose. Not only do you have to win, but you have to perform well. Block, counter, stay on your feet all of these can count for or against you. A detailed guide for OWC can be found here.
The essence of the OWC mode is that you create your own boxer from scratch and compete in an online championship.
It is important to remember that once you create a boxer in any weight category, you will no longer be able to change his physical indicators such as weight, height, arm length. The same applies to distributed experience points - it is not possible to return them back. And, perhaps, the most important thing: you will not be able to change the fighting style of your boxer (in the Style tab, Type item). It is this parameter that affects the cost of increasing a particular skill. So, for example, if your boxer was originally created as an outside fighter, then the cost of increasing the level of uppercuts will be much higher than for an insider. If you are unhappy with something about your Boxer, the only option is to remove it and start from scratch.
There is no point in advising a specific fighting style or method of leveling up a boxer; it is more convenient for each player to play in their own way, it all depends on subjective preferences. In such a situation, the best thing to do would be to play online in fight now mode for different boxers, compare them and choose the one most suitable for you, and then in OWC try to create a boxer with similar parameters. You can view the parameters of any of the boxers presented in the game in the main menu – boxer share – edit boxer.
Skills
There are a total of 17 skills in the game, the maximum level of development of each of them is 20 levels. In total, the development levels of all skills can be no more than 220. I won’t analyze the different types of strikes separately, everything is clear here. Just during the fight, pay attention to what attacks you use most often, and upgrade them.
The combination skill is responsible for how many punches you can throw in a series, an important skill for most boxers.
Blocking - is responsible for how many blocking blows a boxer can take without any special consequences. Head Movement – is responsible for how fast your boxer dodges. Ideally, you need to maximize both of these skills, but at first you need to choose, so be careful about the distribution of experience, base the choice on your playstyle.
Chin and Heart are the most important skills for all types of boxers. The fact is that at low levels of these parameters, your boxer is more vulnerable to instant stuns and knockdowns. Once you start OWC, you'll notice how often you get stunned while these stats are low. More often, of course, they hit the head, which is why chin is preferable.
Experience
There are several ways to earn experience in the game:
For every fight in OWC you are awarded XP. About 400-300 for a win, 60-150 for a loss.
Training sparring sessions with players in your gym. This is the easiest and safest way to earn experience. Fights in your gym do not affect your rating or level in OWC.
Buy with MS points. If you buy, don’t forget that spent experience points cannot be returned.
You can also use special medals to improve your boxer's performance. They can be obtained by fulfilling certain conditions in the game (you can view them in the Boosts tab when editing a boxer) or, again, purchased for MS points.
Well, actually, how to get the levels necessary to unlock the achievement:
Each victory brings you closer to obtaining a new level, each loss moves you away from it. Moreover, your opponent’s Overall indicator is also important. That is, you can get a level for one victory over an enemy with overall 98 or for 4-5 opponents with overall 78. The main difficulty is that to gain a level you need a series of victories, and therefore, if you see even before the start of the battle that the enemy is much superior to you, refuse the fight. Also, you should not fight with people who have a high number of unfinished battles (parameter in percentage at the top); most likely, such an opponent, as soon as he starts losing, will leave the battle and you will only be credited with a few experience points. Pay attention to the statistics of your opponent's victories. If most of them were wins on points, then most likely you have a man who will throw jabs to the body and run away. The fight with such people is very long and unpleasant. But you shouldn’t avoid opponents who have high overall. Firstly, as I already said, by defeating such people, you will quickly get closer to gaining a new level, and secondly, this is not a guarantee that this person is invincible, on the contrary, it is often easier to defeat such people because they have either bought experience or They can’t get a new level for too long, and they earned experience through losing battles.
Lastly, it is preferable to play OWC as a heavyweight. I read on foreign sites that finding an opponent in light and middle weight from level 30 is very problematic.
Even before starting the campaign for this trophy, I would advise you to go through Legacy mode with your boxer on GOAT difficulty. And be sure to turn it on in the settings so that in addition to stamina, you can also see your health - this is important in battle. You should start the walkthrough with average weight and import 3 more boxers into the game with maximum parameters (all skills and physics at maximum, weight, height and arm length also at maximum) in each weight category (middle, light heavy and heavy weight). This will help you learn how to play as your boxer, choose the optimal tactics, choose the style of punches and blocks. Plus, completing Legacy will give you boosts for strength, speed, conditioning and reflexes, which will also help in OWC. And it's also worth getting the "A Fist For Every Face" trophy with your boxer, also on GOAT difficulty - this will also help you acquire the necessary fighting skills. The time spent on getting these trophies for your boxer will be more than compensated for in OWC fights.
Directly in OWC, immediately look for a gym, and remember that sparring with partners gives you XP points for leveling up your fighter. Regarding pumping up a boxer, immediately pump up Straight and Chin, in a proportion of about 70/30, and Headmovement if you work with the body. If you received boosts in Legacy, then you will have level 80-81, play with them and make an 80 overroll. It’s best to level up a boxer right away, and don’t try to immediately increase your over. Grow slowly, pumping up the skills of those strikes that you use the most, look at the statistics after the fight, remove boosts to stay at the same over. It is better to pump the blows straight to the end. You can fully pump up no more than 3 blows, one of which, as mentioned above, must be a straight “Straight” and another one to the body (recommendation). If you buy XP packs in the store, keep in mind that on average you need 50k experience to level up a fighter.
Over and level are not directly related to each other. The level (our goal) grows with victories and “falls” with defeats. Points are given for a victory, points are taken away for defeats, without lowering the level. Therefore, you must win and win, losing is 2 steps back, i.e. Having lost once, you need to win 2-3 victories to return to your previous level - this is rude.
Choose your opponent carefully, do not play with those whose DNF is higher than 7-10%. Don't play with weird characters like Hitlers, Jokers and other freaks (usually they have fake faces with spots). Don’t try to get the champion belt yet, it doesn’t bring you any points, but it can take away a lot of money.
Well, you should only play in the middle or heavy weight; in the light weight there are practically no opponents. In the heavyweight division, the overall level of opponents is higher and there are more nerds and spammers.
PS Well, don’t bother getting the Numba One Stunna and I’m Just Doing My Jab trophies by playing OWC you will get them much earlier than you reach lvl 60.
PPS Well, at the time of writing this tip, there is not a single fighter in the world with lvl 60... TOP-1 in heavy weight lvl 55, TOP-1 on average lvl 53. This is the hardest and most nerdy trophy, it requires not only time to obtain, but skills!
