How to unlock the David and Goliath achievement in Fight Night Round 4 - Definitive Guide

There's a trick here that I haven't actually found anywhere else.

When you're adjusting the sliders, move Boxer Power up, but move Boxer Toughness *DOWN*. This was completely counterintuitive to me, but it made all the difference since it affects both you and your opponent.

Against Tyson, make sure that your boxer is about 6' 0" with a very long reach, so that you stack up well physically.

Set your round to a minute and the length to one round. G.O.A.T. difficulty, as specified in the achievement.

Go straight after him at the bell. Throw hooks to the head and as many punches as you can as fast as you can. With some luck, you should be able to knock his health down quickly and possibly knock him down. If you can do that, then retreat for the rest of the round with your block up and you should win by decision.

But make sure that Toughness slider is down. That helped me go from getting knocked down repeatedly to winning the fight in one game.

This solution does not use the created fighter so if you haven't done Legacy Mode then you'll be fine. I would pick Ali for his speed and reach advantages. Under "Settings", adjust the difficulty to "G.O.A.T.", the number of rounds to 1, and the round length to 1 minute. Whatever you do, do not start by throwing a left jab or hook to his head - you will eat an uppercut. Instead, throw right straights to his head and right hooks to his body - he has issues blocking them from my experience. Once the rights start to work, then you can add some jabs on the left and maybe an uppercut or two. Keep moving around the ring and you will have this one in no time.

So for me, I did what the other's above mentioned... with the sliders & such, I put the Time Limit to 1 Minute and made it 1 Round. I used Ali.

During my attempts at getting this I tried the 2nd Solution of lowering the "Toughness" Slider. This didn't seem to matter at all.

Here is what I came to figure out. I could stun Tyson, I could land more counters, I could block & retreat. I experimented with this for a long while. I could hit him more, I could land more "haymakers". But ultimately what got this for me was:

The TOTAL Percentage of Punches Landed. When I got this I landed 58% to his 50%. I also was not knocked down. I won by judges score cards 10 - 9.

So make smart punches & keep your distance a little so you can tell if you need to block high or low. The punch counter ended up 30/51 = 58% for me & Tyson's was 21/42 = 50%.

I hope this little extra bit of information helps.

To get this achievement you should use Muhammad Ali because he is the closest boxer to the skill level of Mike Tyson (if not better). When picking your character press and change the settings so the boxer settings are all the way up and CPU settings are low. Make sure you throw smart punches. Take your time, don't always try to knock him out in the first round, but if you think your good enough go for it.

We select the difficulty level GOAT in the settings, and also set it to only one round and one minute. Then we choose who we will play for, it is best to choose a fighter with a high level of rating, for example Ali or Frazier, and choose Tyson as our opponent. Next, your task is to land as many blows as possible without getting knocked down. After you are declared the winner of the battle, you will unlock the achievement.
