How to unlock the Choco-boco-holic achievement in FINAL FANTASY XIII-2 - Definitive Guide

The fortune in question is 100,000 gil and if you haven't done this by the end of the game, here is a simple trick you can do. Sell whatever you don't need( extra equipment, monster materials, etc) then save your game, and start buying like crazy. Then just reload your save to have all your money intact.

* I would like to thank georgeous123 and airjedi for spotting a confusion causing typo. Thank you guys! Hopefully now this is a little bit easier to understand.

shouldn't you save before you sell your equipment? Just saying...then you'll have all your equipment intact.

Actually you said sell your equipment AND whatever you DON'T need. Implying to sell all your equipment and I guess random items that you don't need? Georgeous123 wasn't being ignorant, just making a point about a possible typo. Don't know why you felt the need to respond in a such a rude way.

Yeah, I realized that few days ago. No shame in apologizing, I'm just use to a smart ass remark whenever I see those 3 dots in a sentence.

So if you just sell all your junk like potions, etc. Then save the game and keep reloading the save and buying stuff it will give you this achievement? Or can you only do this once?

Pretty sure you can only do once. Just do this towards the end of the game, and you will have no problem getting the achievement.

the above solution is great but i would like to add i didn't have to do any sort of mass buying to get this achievement.

what i did was buy all the new weapons which came available through certain points in the game.

the last 2 i bought were 12.500 a piece and when i bought these that's when the achievement unlocked

but like i said while playing i just bought some potions and phoenix downs when i felt they were needed and bought weapons and the achievement popped before i had finished the main story

Just thought I should also add that any coins purchased at the casino also count towards this achievement

This achievement requires 100,000 Gil spent at either any of the numerous Chocolina locations or the Serendipity casino currency exchange. If you don't receive this naturally while finishing the game or going for the "Serendipitous" achievement, simply save the game, sell all your equipment (have the "Haggler" Fragment Skill on at this point if you have it) and then buy a mass of items to unlock it, then reload your save so you haven't lost anything.

A fortune is 100,000 gil (that’s how much you need to spend to get the trophy). Money spent on buying chips at the casino is also taken into account. Most likely, the trophy will open on its own towards the end of the game, but if you want to speed up the process, you can sell all your inventory, spend the required amount of money, get the trophy and reboot.
