How to unlock the Instrument of Rebellion achievement in FINAL FANTASY XIII - Definitive Guide

Complete chapter 6 and start chapter 7.

Make your way through the Sunleth Waterscape. The bosses of the area are Enli and Enki. They are water/lightning elemental creatures. Start the battle in a saboteur/synergist stance and buff yourselves and debuff them. Then switch to either dualcast or slash & burn to hurt them, switching to medic as needed. When one goes down, go back to your support stances and redo your buffs/debuffs. Then resume your assualt on the remaining woodwraith. At this point you should have the enelement skills for water and lightning for your synergist. Your synergist should use this automatically when it is clear which you are targeting. Leave the area to start the next chapter.

This is a story related achievement, which will unlock with natural progression through the game.

It will unlock towards the beginning of Chapter 7.

The boss battle at the end of this chapter is against two similar foes: Enli and Enki. Again, give Doctor’s Code to Vanille and use up the remainder of your Potions. Once you get past this Chapter, enemy damage becomes high enough to a point where the healing effects of Potions are negligible.

Start with SAB/SYN until Poison sticks on both bosses and reapply every time it wears off. When one of the bosses reaches critical health, it will deal more powerful attacks, so switch to MED/SYN if you need some extra healing if the Potions can’t keep up. As always when attacking, start with RAV/COM for one turn and then switch to RAV/RAV until the Stagger bar is full.

Enki’s attacks have a Water element, whilst Enli has a Thunder disposition, so often when they are using their more powerful attacks they will end up damaging each other due to their weaknesses. Enli is the weaker of the two, so kill him first so that you can focus on the more powerful boss. Enli should take two Staggers to kill, and Enki three.

As always, the trophy will unlock at the start of the next Chapter when you gain control of Lightning in Palumpolum.
