How to unlock the Bee Plot achievement in Firewatch - Definitive Guide

This can be completed as early as Day 77. Once you have retrieved the new walkie-talkie from Cottonwood Creek, head back to the gate near Wapiti Station that you encountered during the previous day. Open the gate and right in front of you will be a box on pole that says Wapiti. Open it, a bee will fly out and sting you, and the achievement will unlock.

I can't get this one to pop for some reason.

I'm trying this in free roam, but I assume that isn't a problem as the other non-story related achievements have unlocked in the free roam.

I've tried it three times now and each time it fails to pop.

None of the achievements in this game have actually 'popped' with the on-screen notification, but all have unlocked in the background, with the exception of this one.

Not sure what to tell you other than try it in story mode.

I'll give it another try later today in free roam and hope it works. If not, I'll have to play through in story mode, which will be quite a chore if I have to start from the beginning.

It popped for me as soon as I reported that I had been stung.

This does seem like something you CAN'T get on free roam... and in fact the only one (other than complete x day) that you can't kind of a bummer

This achieve didn't pop at first for me, until I tried saving to back out and reload the game. Then it popped as soon as the save icon popped up.

I did as mentioned by @hunterIV, and then I reported it to Delilah using left trigger. It popped after the brief convo

Did not get this immediately but only the next day, when I booted up the Xbox (wasn't even in the game). Lucky I guess. Thought it was glitched for me too.

This achievement is so stupid and broken. As with most other people here, it did not pop for me, even after trying all the things mentioned in the comments. I reported it to Delilah, had a backup save I reloaded to try it again multiple times. I even tried to get it in the free-roam mode and even though the bee does spawn and will sting you, the achievement wont pop. I guess my best shot now is to just play through the game again and hope I happen to get lucky with this seemingly randomly awarded achievement... 😒.

Edit: Replayed through a new game up to the bee part and it still wont unlock, so Im at a loss as to what I should do...

Edit#2: It finally popped the next real world day. Not sure what triggers it, but I hope my frantic miseries can help out someone else in the future. 😂

Unlocked for me first time, but never "popped" onscreen. Thought it'd glitched but checked my cheevo list and it'd unlocked on there, and then noticed it also showed on my phone via the Xbox app.

Sad that i'm gonna have to give this game a low rating due to the buggy achievments.

Didnt get on the first playthrough. On my second playthrough, on day 77, instead as go to Cottonwood Creek, as Delilah ask to me, i go direct to the wapiti station. I got stung by the bee, and reported, and got the cheevo.

Had to reload the autosave (it saved just before I reached the gate luckily) and open the box a second time to get it to pop.

Only missing achievement. Tried everything. Copy save. Leave game. Restart game. Do 360 no scope with bee. Tried playing with streaming gamepass on my phone and finally download the game on my pc. Load the first save. And boom, first try the cheevo popped. Cheers.

For this and other buggy achievements, my found solution: upon the completion of an achievement but it doesn't pop...

Open the Xbox app on your phone. Touch your profile in the bottom right. Then touch Achievements tab and then click on Fire watch. The achievement should unlock in about 5 seconds.

I assume the problem is the game not talking to Xbox servers and checking the game on your app forces it to.

Can confirm. This didn't pop, but registered for me when I opened the box at Wapiti Station.

This achievement is missable even while still in Day 77. When I'd noticed I'd missed this, I crossed the map after leaving the cave.

The bee came out of the box and stung me, no achievement. I reloaded it several times, no go. I'm wondering if that is because there was no option to report it to Delilah.

Went back there during the escape (as I had reloaded my save when the achievement didn't pop). Same thing. Bee comes out, stings me, no achievement. No idea why this is, as clearly the requirements are being met.

Super irritating to have to replay almost to the completion of the game for one silly achievement.

I had the same troubles as others and I did the following:
Got within sight of the gate
Made a save
Quit to Menu
Copied that save
Reloaded my original save and attempted to get the achievement by
Slowly completing all dialogs
Approach the box and open it - no achievement
Report sting - no achievement
Quit to Menu
Reload same save and follow same steps - no achievement
Quit to Menu
Quit Game
Reload game and use copied save - achievement randomly popped

....soo all that said to say just keep trying the save reloading :)

wave

This is how it just popped for me......
Did as MOLO mentioned above.

Got to the fence,
then broke down the gate with the axe,
paused the game,
and did a manual save.

Then quit to main menu.

Selected load game.
Instead of loading my save,
copied it to an empty slot.

Back to menu,
load game,
selected and loaded the copied save.

Opened the Wapiti lid,
got stung by the bee,
immediately radio reported it to Delilah.

Popped the achievement !

To earn the "Bee Plot" trophy in Firewatch, you must first reach Day 77, and follow the story to the point where you get a new radio and are heading back to the fence at Wapiti. As soon as you get through the fence, interact with the little Wapiti telephone box to earn this trophy.

If you need help generally with Day 77, please see my guide here:

MISSABLE

This trophy can be obtained as early as Day 77. After grabbing the new Radio, you will receive a new update objective. The new objective is to break into Wapiti Meadow, which is the location that had the locked gated fence Henry couldn't get through. Head north to past the Medicine Wheel, turn West passed the Cripple Gulch, then head towards Jonesy Lake. When you make it to Jonesy Lake, continue heading North East until you make it to the fence's entrance. When you arrive at the fence, radio Delilah about busting the gate down with your Axe and then pry the gate open using . Now that you're able to explore Wapiti Meadow, walk forward and open the lid on the WAPITI mailbox with . Doing this will cause you to get stung by a Bee, which will unlock the trophy. If you miss this trophy, then you will have to either restore an earlier backup or start a new game from scratch.

Below is a photo of where the Bee is located at:

Start a free roam game and make sure you bring your climbing gear and the axe with you.

Go to the area marked on the map and open the gate. Directly in front of you is a small box thing you can open. Open it and a bee will fly out and sting you and the achievement will unlock.
