I'm having the same problem. A lot of my achievements haven't been popping but I've completed that day 4 times now and it's not unlocking

I beat the game and the achievement isn’t showing up for me. This seems like a problem everyone else’s is having too. Weird.

The achievement did not unlock in my first playthrough, so I played through the game a second time and it popped. I recommend to make a backup save at the beginning of day 77 so you can replay the day again and are able to chose different dialog options (maybe they make a difference!?).

Same problem but I found to force unlock. Do save in back up before end of Day77. Load previous save to terminate Day77. Begin Day78 and return to xbox dashboard during conversation. Close the game. Start the game and achievement pop on main menu.

Dumb game that leaves a story achievement unlocked. Six years since release? Developers want to reassess their competencies.

i wish the walkthrough mentioned to make backup saves because i didnt realise these were buggy and neither of the last 2 unlocked for me. Last one isnt an issue cos it saves right before but this one is and i dont really feel like playing through again just for 1 chevo. Pretty disappointing an old game like this still has buggy chevos : /

Make sure to report the lookout tower is empty before picking up the Walkman

@ NardDog311, That makes no difference. EVERY SINGLE Achievement has a god chance to glitch & there is nothing you can do to prevent it. The only safety net is to save & quit a little bit before the achievement is to pop, then load & select copy to back up the save to another slot.

For this and other buggy achievements, my found solution: upon the completion of an achievement but it doesn't pop...

Open the Xbox app on your phone. Touch your profile in the bottom right. Then touch Achievements tab and then click on Fire watch. The achievement should unlock in about 5 seconds.

I assume the problem is the game not talking to Xbox servers and checking the game on your app forces it to.

DAY 77 - BURN THE PLACE DOWN ACHIEVEMENT

This achievement will pop for you once you complete Day 77 and start Day 78.

Here is a guide on how to complete Day 77

To earn the "Burn the place down." trophy in Firewatch, you need to complete Day 77.

This day starts with a radio conversation. You need to look at the poster on the wall which details local trees, and focus on the second tree in from the top left and radio back. Once the conversation is done you will need to head back down the zig-zag path to the left (south) of the tower which you first travelled down on the previous day. Head across the river again and past Cache 307, and up into the tree-line. However instead of turning left (east) towards the scout camp as you did yesterday, you need to turn right (west) toward Cottonwood Creek. You will find a big dead tree dominating the space after a while. Go past it and follow the creek as it turns north. Eventually you will see Cache 308 - use code 5-6-7-8 to get in and grab the radio. Retrace your steps to the tower.

Note: Two missable, optional trophies are available to you now. See my respective guides on these pages for more details:

FirewatchThe Life and Times of Raccoon CarterThe The Life and Times of Raccoon Carter trophy in Firewatch worth 30 pointsGot attacked by a raccoon; probably didn't get rabies.

FirewatchOl' ShoshoneThe Ol' Shoshone trophy in Firewatch worth 31 pointsListened to the tape of "Ol' Shoshone." Cavorted among the aspens.

Assuming that you've either gotten those trophies or are ignoring them, let's assume you're back at your tower. Head behind the tower, down and back through the cave from your first couple of days. On the other side of the cave, head straight down Thunder Canyon to the left (west) and take the right path up the hill when the path forks (if you're at the lake, you've gone too far). Head up the rope and head back to the fence you couldn't open yesterday. Take your new axe to the padlock.

Note: If you head straight forward and open the phone box labelled Wapiti, an incident occurs which unlocks:
FirewatchBee PlotThe Bee Plot trophy in Firewatch worth 22 pointsGot stung by a bee. It happens.

Follow the winding path all the way down, past some equipment, until you reach more equipment and a tent. Look right as soon as you enter the tent and open the crate. Pick up the Wave Receiver. Go to the table at the back and clear away the mess on the table, then pick up the black box underneath the mess. Head back up towards the fence, and an incident will occur on the stone bridge. After a brief conversation you are back at your tower.

Use the wave receiver to follow a signal, which is directly southwest. When the road forks you'll have to head north a bit before you can circle back to the southwest. Eventually you should find some brush to clear away, and a backpack. Take it and then hit the alarm underneath it with [cn_RT] to stop it. Examine the backpack and take what you need. After a radio conversation you want to rush back east to your tower. (Depending on which way you head back, there may be a tree along the way which you need to chop down to get access). When you get back to the tower, go upstairs and interact with the headphones taped to the door. As soon as the next day starts, you should get your trophy.

26 Dec 2016 00:00

Story related, cannot be missed. In order to reach this Day you must have first completed Day 76.

Objectives needed to complete Day 77:

  1. Examine Flora poster
  2. Go to Cottonwood Creek
  3. Break into Wapiti Meadow
  4. Investigate Wapiti Meadow
  5. Follow the beeping device
  6. Head back to Two Forks Lookout
  7. Follow wave receiver
  8. Examine strange bag
  9. Get back to lookout

After obtaining the keys to Cave 452 from the strange backpack, Henry will need to head back to Two Forks Lookout. When he gets there he will find a Taped Walkman taped onto the lookout's door. Take it with and radio Delilah about what is on the tape. Day 77 will come to an end and Day 78 will begin, thus unlocking the trophy.
