Artifacts are found in some levels -they're an item you uncover. You don't have to complete the level for the artifact to count. Also, if you have a board with artifacts, they will always appear on that board. If you want to farm this, wait until you get a level with multiple artifacts that you can uncover quickly (with lightning or a bomb,) then uncover them and restart the level. Each that you uncover will count towards this. To check your progress, click on the achievements bubble from the main menu. It will give you a progression counter until you get the achievement.

Just wanted to add that you can get 4 artifacts quickly on level 75. There's two lighting power ups always hiding under wood blocks at the same place, you use these to uncover bombs to blow up the artifacts, takes maybe 30 seconds at the most.

Level 64 contains two artefacts which can be obtained within 1-2 moves 95% of time.
Make a match next to any of the four higher wooden boxes each contains a firework which drops onto the two lower wooden boxes which both contain artefacts.
Use these fireworks to destroy the boxes to obtain the artefacts.
Simply hit menu and restart once obtained.
Occasionally i was only able to break one box from the start so its quicker to cut your losses and just restart the level.

Artifacts are objects hidden inside dirt or boxes, and you'll see them flash onscreen and give you decent money. You'll also see them on the level complete screen. Artifacts are pretty scarce through many of the levels, but you must collect all artifacts in a level to complete it, so this achievement is actually unavoidable while progressing to level 48.
