How to unlock the Inexhaustible Vein achievement in Fishdom 3: Special Edition - Definitive Guide
Time: 26 hours | Level: 51 | Stages completed: 392
If you read my solution and don't do the "mistakes" i did, you can unlock this grindy achievement faster than me!
--- Relax Mode and 100 gold medals ---
As you probably know, you can activate the relax mode and deactivate the timer to earn a gold medal after each stage. My suggestion: Only finish the first 50 levels without timer, because you earn extra coins if you complete a stage with a gold/silver time. If you going to lose a stage, just reactivate the relax mode DURING the match before the time runs out.
--- 200 completed stages and 5 perfect aquariums ---
Your next 2 big goals on your road to 1 million coins. The stages give you money to decorate your tanks. After unlocking the perfect aquarium achievement you can sell your decorations and get 10% of you invested money back. You lose your trophys, but you can keep all the 12 fishes. Just make sure you don't sell your fishes after removing the decoration. Buy the cheapest fish to fill your aquarium, because expensive fishes don't give you more experience. You earn more experience during the time... at level 51 i got between 30 - 60 experience for each dropped star.
--- Upgrading your fish tanks for more fishes VS just selling your fishes ---
Now you have 5 aquariums without decoration, but still 60 cheap fishes you can feed. My idea was to invest my money in new aquariums to buy more fishes, because i thought: more hungry fishes = more experience after feeding them... but now i think it was a mistake and a waste of time. You only get 10% of your money back if you sell all the expensive decoration, but you get 50% for your fishes. If you save your money and buy & sell your fishes, you also earn experience for buying them.
Example:
If you buy 6 turtles for 66.000 coins (11.000 each) - you earn 13200xp (2.200 each)
now you sell all 6 turtles and get 33.000 coins (counting towards) back and have enough coins to buy 3 new turtles... for another 6.600 xp. Sell all 3 and you get 16.500 coins... buy 1 turtle and grab 2.200 experience.
total: 22.000 experience and 49500 coins + ? amount of coins for reaching a new level.
Now let's compare:
(nearly) 50.000 coins + 10.000 or 20.000 coins (as level up reward) = 60.000 or 70.000 extra coins.
If you buy decoration to upgrade your fish tank, you need 6 - 7 level ups to have the same amount of extra coins, but have to spend way more! money to fully upgrade you tank. So in my opinion there is no reason to buy decoration after you unlocked the perfect aquarium achievement. Buy and sell your fishes in aquarium 6 - 10 instead. You don't need turtles, because every kind of fish give you 50% of your money back.
--- 10 Turtles, Ark & 10 aquariums ---
With level 48 you can finally buy turtles... now buy each type of fish once for the Ark achievement and sell them afterwards. You have to buy! 10 turtles.. so feel free to sell them immediately after buying, because you don't need 10 at the same time. If you have enough money you should be able to buy 10 aquariums and now the 1 million coin achievements shouldn't be far away.
--- level up rewards and system clock ---
The maximum coin reward for a level up is 10.000 coins, but i don't know the max level you can reach in this game. You should have at least 12 x 5 fishes after the perfect aquarium achievement and you should feed them. You obtain experience for a good boost. If you change the time of your system clock, you can make your fishes hungry again! after 200 completed stages you could earn experience and coins this way. i didn't do it all the time, because it's boring and i was not sure if i was able to collect more experience after hitting level 65. (level 65 is required for the last decoration)
So it's your decision if and how many times you wanna abuse this method to level up. =)
--- 1 million coins ---
Replay levels, feed your fishes and buy/sell expensive fishes until you reach 1 million coins. This is probably your last achievement. I really hope my solution was helpful and i'm happy about any kind of feedback! =)
Thanks for the tips, the turtle selling method is the way forward.
I also noticed, contrary to some accounts, that the cost of the fish doesn't dictate how much money it will give out. Turtles and Flame Angelfish (the cheapest fish) all give out experience compared to your level. So you have to balance how quickly you want to get the achievment vs. how much time you want to consciously seek it. If you just wait on fish feeding, it will take a very long time.
The version that I played, whenever you sell your decorations you get about 1/10 of the original value. HOWEVER, contrary to the walkthrough, these coins DO count towards your total coins earned. This should not be counted on, because after getting 5 perfect tanks, I sold everything and only got 45,000. That is not nearly close enough to get the goal. So you may ask, how is it done?
First off, for another achievement you only need to buy one of each species and you should hold off on getting 10 turtles until later.
You should keep all of your decorations until you have 5 "perfect" tanks. After you get the achievement for that you should sell every decoration for all 5 of those tanks. From there you should buy other tanks (until you reach 10 tanks) or you should be buying decrations for other tanks. Every time you don't spend coins they go to waste (meaning they aren't being used in the game's economy.), because you could be getting money or levels from them.
Anytime that you get a tank to 3 trophies you should fill it up with the cheapest fish and selll all the decorations after that. The decorations will give you 1/10 of the value but it is worth it if the tank already is maxed out on capacity. After you sell the decorations you don't lose the fish, but the tank will be considered over-capacity. As long as you have 12 fish in the tank this doesn't matter. It only means you can't add fish beyond the capacity.
What that means is you can have several tanks with no decorations but they still have 12 fish in them. That money can be used to upgrade othher tanks.
This is only a first draft, so I'm open to changes. Tell me what's wrong instead of voting negative. Also let me know if these numbers change in the new versions of the game.
By the time I finished buying 10 turtles and 10 tanks, I was around the 850,000 mark, so it didn't take that long after completing those.
I ended at level 62 with around 45 hours of play time.
This is a cumulative lifetime total earned. The only thing that does not count towards this total is if you sell fish or decorations to get some money back. This total only comes from money earned from completing levels.
This may seem like a massive amount when you start out, since you'll only be getting a couple hundred coins per level, but eventually you'll be getting multiple thousand coins per level. The ways you can influence your money earned are by completing a level within the golden time limit, and by leveling up. You get a gold time bonus and a level bonus when you finish a level, and these can be significant. This is why it's important to not hoard money. Spend it to continually level up, so you continually make more money. You should also be shooting for gold times on every level, although the difference between a gold time and silver time is pretty small, so don't worry too much about that and definitely don't replay any levels to try for gold times.
This achievement will come naturally as you progress to level 48 for your last achievements. You'll likely unlock this somewhere around level 40 as long as you keep leveling up whenever you have enough money and continually get gold and silver times.
