Ground Winnow
Location: Near The Pavillions
Details: These Winnows are hidden in groups of green leaves sprouting from the ground near The Pavillions. You need to identify them first using the left trigger.

Crested Winnow - Male
Location: Valley
Details: Male Crested Winnows are very common and can be found zooming around the Valley.

Crested Winnow - Female
Location: Top Right Corner of the Map
Details: To find a Female Crested Winnow, first charm around 15 Male Crested Winnows and add them to your Flock. Then, go to the bowl at the top of the hill in the top right corner of the map. Once all the Male Crested Winnows are in the bowl, the Female Crested Winnow will appear. If she doesn’t, collect more Males and bring them back. Your other Males will stay in the bowl, so you can bring more there as many times as needed.

Leaf Winnow
Location: Forest West of The Water Towers
Details: Leaf Winnows are hidden in brown bushes in the forest to the west of The Water Towers. Investigate the bushes with the left trigger to collect them.

Dancing Winnow
Location: Wetlands
Details: These Winnows are commonly found in the water of the Wetlands but can move quickly. The easiest way to charm one is to wait in the middle of one of the islands and catch it as it zooms past.

There are five species of Winnow, but it’s the Female Crested Winnow that takes some work to summon. The trick is to gather between 15 and 18 Male Crested, which can be found in the Valley at the River’s End part of the map (the last area unlocked in the game). They’re fairly common during the daytime. The guide I found elsewhere said to gather 15 (you can swap them manually with other creatures in your Flock tab until 15 are present) and then travel to the top of a nearby hill with a large bowl structure. The males will leave your flock and spin around the bowl to summon a female. But fifteen didn’t work for me. Once I gathered three more and went back up the hill, all the males began to circle faster and closer until a female appeared in their midst. Identify her, and she will move slowly enough that you should be able to easily charm her. Included is a video for the location for the males to gather.
