How to unlock the 10 Seasons At One Club achievement in Football Manager 2006 - Definitive Guide

Here's how I suggest you do this:

Step 1: Setting Up.
- Start a new game using the Australian league.
- Create 8 managers, one for each club.
- For each, go to the Manager Options and set the assistant to sort out contracts.
- Now go on holiday indefinitely for each manager.

Step 2: Maintaining progress.
- Every 6 months or so you should check the status of the managers.
- If any managers are unemployed, retire them and create a new manager to replace them.
- Any re-created managers should be dedicated as 'Losing Teams'.
- Edit their tactics, so that the team uses a bad formation.
- Now go on holiday indefinitely with them, and set the assistant to use current formation.
- As you progress through the years, only the designated loser managers will get sacked (quite often), whilst the others compete for the domestic competitions.

Step 3: Collect Your Achievement.
- After 10 seasons of management, you will collect your achievement.
- After my 10 seasons, 4 of the original managers remained at the helm.
- The other four teams were continually sacking their managers.
- In the end, I resorted to going on holiday for 3 months at a time, to re-create the sacked managers.

Pretty straightforward really BUT, which is the reason I'm writing this, you CAN NOT use an international team.

I found out this mistake personally. I used Brazil and put in on holiday mode whilst I slept. I came back 20 in game years later and I hadn't unlocked it, however, when I then done this with a Premiership team it unlocked perfectly so just to let you know that this can ONLY be done with a domestic team, not international.

This is the same for all the achievements (5 seasons, 10 seasons and 20 seasons).

I hope this helped. :-)

Now you need to build on the success of the previous achievement but double your time at the club. This is a tough achievement as towards the end on the decade at the club, chances are you will have lost most of your good players through either them not being good enough because of age, or retirement. So I recommend at 5-7 seasons in, you buy a couple of decent teens and slowly work them in to the squad so that the retirement of the star players doesn't hit you too bad.
