I found when playing through this game a stupid amount of times, that the team who won the league, the manager generally got Manager Of The Year, so simply do that and you shouldn't go wrong. Can't get on holiday.

The easiest way of doing this is just to simply take over the top finishing teams in your league as it covers your back if your normal team doesnt win it.
Whereas if you've got control of the best performed teams of the season you will guarentee to get this achievement.

Nine times out of ten, whoever wins the league will win the Manager of the Year award too, so like for most of the achievements in this game I recommend you take control of Chelsea and use the great players, staff and funds to your advantage. If you know nothing about football (especially a football game from 2006) then I recommend letting your assistant manager choose his best selection and going with it as well as saving before every game. If you lose you can load your previous save and play the match again and there will be a different outcome.
At the end of the first season if you've won the Premier League as well as the European and National cups you should also be aiming to win, then this will unlock once the award is given to you.
