How to unlock the Good Knowledge! achievement in Football Manager 2007 - Definitive Guide

As Raj122 suggests, it is best to choose a team that allows the maximum amount of scouts (12).

Under the 'Search' tab for your team, you should find 'Knowledge'. Send your scouts to the regions which have the lowest amount of knowledge.

Knowledge is also gained from the nationality of the scouts, as well as club connections to foreign clubs (feeder clubs / parent clubs).

**EDIT** - I just reached 75% knowledge worldwide, (76 in fact), and the achievement still hasn't popped.

**EDIT** - Okay, so the achievement popped literally 2 minutes after that edit. But I was still on 76% when it popped, so don't worry if you hit 75% and you havn't got the achievement yet.

Great guide mate but I'm having some trouble.. Basically I've been stuck on about 70% for two seasons now.. When I send one scout to the lowest bar region something else will bloody knock my percentage down and it's rather pissing me off lol.. Got any tips mate? How did you do it?

The only things that I can suggest is to make sure that you have a club that allowed 12 scouts and send each of the scouts to different regions.

When you look at your 'knowledge' menu, scroll down until you see regions with minimal knowledge and send scouts there.

I can't remember how many seasons it took me, but if you continue to do this whilst going for other achievements, you will get the achievement eventually.

I just got this with Arsenal, who only allow 8 scouts. I was just sending scouts anywhere for the first 2-3 seasons and realised I wasn't really going anywhere past 65% or so. So I split the 20 regions across my 8 scouts. The ones that I gave a large region like South America I made sure I only gave them a small region to go with it like S. Asia. Then others I gave 3 medium to small regions. Then you just rotate between the 3 regions. For example, I gave one scout SE Asia, E Asia and S Asia. He went to all 3 for 3 months to build up his knowledge, and then after that 2 months then 1 month each. Each regions never drops below about 85%. Once I was organised, it only too me about a 18 months or so to get from ~60% to 75%. Just make sure you check if your scouts have returned every 2-3 weeks.
When you want to send a scout to the same place, you need to remove his old assignment, by pressing Y to drop down to his previous journeys and then press X to remove it. It will then appear in the assignment list.

Select a top team,i used Man Utd....for this reason they have no restrictions on where you send your scouts.
Then post an advert at the job centre looking for scouts, once applicants have been found sign as many as possible-depending on how many your board will let you have and then once they have accepted your contract offer send them all individually to different continents for a month lookng for players. Once they return send them somewhere else you haven't scouted-will probably take a couple of seasons depending on how many scouts you can have-i've got 12 at Utd.

Thanks to JDA27! Thank you! His comment in another guide helped me with this! I am making a new guide sharing how I did this.

So I want to add that I bought only world class scouts but one retired and I had to get one continental scout. I did this with Eastleigh that only allowed me to have 7 scouts. I did this while doing the 10 year at the same club award and the world wide number 1 ranking.

The knowledge they had for different countries kept on going up and down all the time!

The solution is to divide the 20 regions the scouts!

I will show the ones I had below and what they got! And I gave the regions to them that they had already done some scouting for while trying to figure things out. But it was when I did this that it kept on going up. Took me 1 year to get from 55 % to 76 %. Got it on the 11th year with Eastleigh!

The scouts I had and their regions and I kept on repeating their regions and I had the scouts do their work 1-3 months. Starting with 3 months, then 2 and then 1. I believe one or two months at a time is best.

Also press Y to switch to were you add where they are gonna go when you see they have finished a region and then remove it with X so you are able to add it again pending under the ones that they are doing. So you repeat the cycle!

Ok here are the ones I had!

WORLD CLASS SCOUTS: (Did not write down their whole names on my sheet of paper)

1. Gary Worthington = Southern Africa, Central Africa, West Africa
2. Button = East Europe, Central Asia, East Asia
3. Bettega = South America, South East Asia, Oceania
4. Ray = North Africa, Middle East, North America
5. Jimenez = Scandinavia, Central America, South Asia
6. Watson = Central Europe, East Africa, Uk & Ireland

CONTINENTAL SCOUT: (Two times the world class scouts retired on me and I could not get any of the few remaining world class ones, just pick an expensive one).
7. Asmini = Caribbean, South Europe and I let him scout these two repeatedly.

Use a team that allow a maximum of 12 scouts and a few feeder clubs. Simply send your scouts to regions that have either a yellow or no bar at all. Have them scout that region for an unlimited time. Constantly check back since a scout will eventually finish a region, some can take months, some can take days. Once a scout has finished a region have him scout a different region. The regions are Caribbean, Central Africa, East Africa, North Africa, Central America, North America, South America, Central Asia, East Asia, South Asia, Central Europe, East Europe, South Europe, Middle Ease, Oceania, Scandinavia, Southeast Asia, Southern Africa, Western Africa and finally the UK & Ireland. You can access the knowledge page by using the Right Bumper on your pad and clicking on search, then General Knowledge. To assign scouts press RB go to the Search Tab along the top, then Scouting Assignments.
