you do not need to manage both a nation and a club, just a nation is fine

like at the end of a league season, there will be a best 11 selected from the players in that league. same in the world cup at the end it will pick the best 11 players in that position, so if you make sure that your managing a team in the world cup and a league clubwith the same player in both, and i think it is easiest to do this with a striker as if they are the top goal scorer, i haven't seen him not be in the top 11.
