How to unlock the Reach Top of Hall of Fame achievement in Football Manager 2007 - Definitive Guide
As the achievement description says, you have to get to the top of the WORLDWIDE hall of fame.
At the start of the game, Sir Alex Ferguson has 615 points. You must surpass him to get this achievement. Keep in mind that he is still Manchester United manager in-game (unless you choose to be Manchester United manager yourself).
Below is a list of various competitions, showing the amount of points that you can win for each. The points do not seem to be a set number, as they seem to change year on year. I cannot work out a formula either, so I have just shown the points that I won.
World Cup - 200 points
European Championships – 80 points
Confederations Cup – 80 points
Champions League – 80, 83, 86 points
Premier League – 36, 38, 40 points
FA Cup – 18, 19, 20 points
League Cup – 0 points
Community Shield – 0 points
European Super Cup – 0 points
Club World Championship – 0 points
Aim to do 'the treble' for about 140 points every season. After five seasons of club football you will have this achievement.
You may also wish to be an international manager as well. At the end of the second season, the European Championsips begin. If you can get one of those jobs, it would make this achievement much quicker.
Notes:
By the time I reached 640 points, I realised I had not yet received the achievement. I checked the Hall of Fame leaderboard, and somehow Sir Alex had 657 points.
If you are interested, these are my point totals after each of the point-scoring trophies:
1 PL = 36

The Euro League (UEFA Cup/Europa League) seems to be around 40 points as well as I have 300 points with a record of 1 World Cup, 1 Minor European Trophy (Euro League) and 3 Major Domestic Cups (FA Cups).
I have been using Lewes whilst working on the promotion challenge.
European Championship also gets you 60 points. I am switching nations to try and get it quicker, depending on what tournament is coming up. Simply create new managers for eligible nations, retire them and apply for the job.
